Just made one! I’m very new to sewing and am not a natural as I’m quite clumsy, but my glasses case looks amazing. Thank you for the video and simple to follow instructions. 👏🏼😁 Now I’ve got make my daughter one…
@@ElaineBeckwith-ge1xc I followed the tutorial for sizes but the first one I made was a bit large for my taste. The second one I made was an inch small each side.
The perfect answer to a quick gift for some friends. I purchased them some thread snips and was looking for a fun way to "wrap" them. This serves double duty as packaging and also useful for their rotary cutters. Thank you!
Flawless tutorial. Perfect, easy to follow and understand, no loud annoying music, LOVED this! I hope you do more tutorials because you are a delight, our church youth group is going to try these eyeglass cases! If you come up with a way to make a zippered eyeglass case, that would be wonderful as well❤😊😊😊thank you for the video!
Love this!, my cat kept knocking my glasses off table playing with them, was afraid she would scratch them up so I been keeping them on FP mantle...lol. Thanks for video im making one now
What a great glasses case, quick and easy. You said to sew it with more than a 1/4", but less than a 1/2", it sounds like you are talking about 3/8" Thank You for sharing your time, and your talent with all of us. I think I will be making a lot of these, and especially one for my rotary cutter.
I enjoyed this video but I’m confused. You say to cut an 8x8 in square and your paper template is written 8x8 but you refer to twice at the beginning to starting with an “ eight and a half inch nah square”. I’m assuming you mean 8x8 not 8.5x8.5. Thank you.
Thank you for your quick reply. I am just about to think about cutting so really appreciate your response. I’ll subscribe to your channel because your instructions are great. Have a great day from New Zealand!
Thanks for sharing this great idea, but I am a bit confused on how to get the measurement on the upper right-side, the circled ruler that you have doesn't seem to make any sense to me at all. Is there another way to try & get the correct measurements, I am wondering on how come you didn't measure from the corners..
The fabric that I used are all from the collections that I designed. I used to sell them in my online shop. But you can find them at your local quilt shop
You mentioned aboit using two different coloured thread. How does this work? Is it one colour used in the bobbin and the neutral one is on the machine?
The bobbin is the same color as the top. I used one color to piece the case and then changed both the bobbin and the top thread out to the color I wanted to use for top stitching.
Same issue when gifted one. Solution, made a little loop on top which can pull over button on the front. Small is fine, i used up leftover COVID loops i had purchased. Looked great.
I don’t understand. It says you need 2 pieces of material 8.5”x42”. Your material in this video does not look like it’s 42” long. It looks like the size of the paper 8x8
Generally you will get your fabric cut in 1/4 yard or 1/2 yard pieces, which are 42" wide. Therefore that would be your jumping off point always. Then you cut it down. I hope that makes sense.
What a lovely short and sweet tutorial.❤
Thank you!

That is awesome!!! 👏🏻 you’re welcome!!
What size material pieces did you use? 8.5x42 looks too long
@@ElaineBeckwith-ge1xc I followed the tutorial for sizes but the first one I made was a bit large for my taste. The second one I made was an inch small each side.
@@ElaineBeckwith-ge1xc it says 8 inches by 4.5 inches, not 42 inches.
Thank you for your help. 8.5”x4.5” sounds more like it. Although when you read her description under the video it does say (2) 8.5x42.
Beautiful and quick.
A very straightforward tutorial. The finished product looks great too. I think they will make nice presents. Thanks
Super 👍
Such a cute and useful project. Perfect stocking stuffer, hostess gift, thank you, etc.

I have a questions, you say 8 1/2 twice but the template you are using says 8 X 8. Just looking for clarification. Love the pattern and tutorial!

Yes… that is correct! Sorry for the confusion. 8.5 x 8.5.

Thanks for sharing this great idea, but I am a bit confused on how to get the measurement on the upper right-side, the circled ruler that you have doesn't seem to make any sense to me at all. Is there another way to try & get the correct measurements, I am wondering on how come you didn't measure from the corners..
Thank you such a simple method. I will try this later. Where do you get your lovely fabric? X
The fabric that I used are all from the collections that I designed. I used to sell them in my online shop. But you can find them at your local quilt shop
Do these hold sunglasses on the large size?
Depends I guess on how large. But yes!
Can you tell me what the purple turning tool is that you used. I'm in Australia but can't find anything like that. Regards, Bev
It is called the purple thang. I carry in my online shop if you can’t find it elsewhere.
I was looking for a simple curved ruler. Where did you get yours?
You can find mine on my site here, either the links and circles OR the Proud Mary set will work. cvquiltworks.com/search?q=links+and+&type=product
What is the name of the pattern behind you in the video where you are making the eyeglass/scissor holder?
That one is called Lava Lamps from my book Splash of Color. I will soon have an online class for it!!
You say 1/8” top stitch but it looks like at least 1/4” ???
Yes I believe I did do 1/4” on this one. Sorry about that. But on subsequent ones I did do 1/8”. But do what works for you! 😊enjoy!
What kind sheets or layer for inside glasses case
I am not sure what you mean ? I used Fabric for the outside and a fusible pellon
You mentioned aboit using two different coloured thread. How does this work? Is it one colour used in the bobbin and the neutral one is on the machine?
I see one color in bobbin and another in needle.. so top has one color and other side different color
The bobbin is the same color as the top. I used one color to piece the case and then changed both the bobbin and the top thread out to the color I wanted to use for top stitching.
Great idea-so fast
Thank you!! Glad you enjoyed it!
Problem with these : the glasses fall out 😢
