Brilliant tutorial, just a thought it might have been better if you had used a darker thread so that it would be easier to see what you are actually doing especially for real beginners

Your video was so well thought out. I so enjoyed it. However, I disagree with the time it should take to complete this lovely project. I'm 70 years old. I've been sewing since I was 10. I couldn't complete this project in 10-15 minutes!

So so pretty !! You must have itty bitty fingers because that opening was so small I couldn't get in there to turn it out and ended up ripping the fabric a bit. So I decided to do the opening on one side where I could make a bigger area, then did top stitching all around the case to give a good finish. I did both a curved top and also a envelope type flap and they both look great. Thanks for the tutorial!

6/20/22: I made two of these, the first of which I followed your instructions to the letter, and the second one I did my own take on it. When after the interface has been applied and the two pieces are sewn, right sides together, I flipped it over to the right side and stitched a 1/8" line across the short side where both seams meet to give it a finishing touch. I did not come up 9” because it left me with a very little flap, so I opted for 8” instead, which worked out perfectly. I didn’t leave the opening up at the side near the rounded corner because I had a hard time flipping it to the right side after the fact. I therefore left a 3” opening on one of the sides and it was easy peasy to turn out. And lastly, I not only stitched around the upper rounded corner, but I stitched 1/8” around the entire piece, top to bottom. It, again, gave it a nice finishing touch. I noticed that this is not only good for sun/eyeglasses, but for cell phones too! How clever. Anyway, thank you for the inspiration and for you taking the time to do and post this tutorial. I’m in love with it and am going to go buck wild making many! 😊

I love the case but I the snap a bit differently. I did the snap on the flap as you did but before the two sides are closed I put the female snap on the facing fabric so when the case is turned the snap is not exposed. Since the snap back is not exposed in the lining it prevents the snap scratching glasses lens. Awesome instructions and easy to follow video!

6/19/22: I've seen many tutorials on how to make eye/sunglass cases, but this one, in particular, caught my eye, especially because of the flap and snap. I love the two elements. I just made this. The video is clear and easy to follow! Thank you.
These kinds of videos can sometimes be difficult because of angles not being optimal for what is happening or jargon that only experts or insiders know. In fact, I watched several other vids prior to this. But, this is the one that I used.
My spouse is doing some intensive schooling and asked me to order them something to hold their 3x5 study flash cards.
Something not a box, something easy to find in their backpack, at least 15 of them an it would be best the holder were soft- they told me.
After scouring shopping websites and not finding what they needed the DIY part of me roared. This, with the pattern tailored for 3x5 card dimensions, was exactly what they wanted.
I used both the button/elastic closure and the snap closure. While both of those worked the quickest has been some self adhering Velcro coins.
From a very happy, studious major in the Air Force and their DIY spouse: Thank you again for this wonderful and helpful video.
