- Hi everybody! On the season finale of Sean in the Wild, Sean Evans teams up with RUclips cooking legend Maangchi for a crash-course in one of the world's most celebrated chicken dishes. That's right, Sean and Maangchi are joining forces to batter, sauce, and double-fry their own batch of spicy Korean fried chicken. I just use a cheesegrater for garlic these days. It works fine. Also, Maangchi needs to use a wooden utensil with a flat bottom instead of a round one like a wooden spoon. That way you can move around small things in a frying pan. Sean isn't the only one at fault here.

I'm literally in the middle of making this right now. It looks amazing so far, and I'm glad I followed THIS recipe instead of everyone else's (every single person's recipe was different in so many ways). I had no brown sugar like a lot of recipes were calling for (for the sauce) so I'm grateful to have found this one that doesn't require it. I'm also glad I saw how she coated the chicken before frying, because all of the other recipes were calling for simply corn or potato starch and nothing else. Thank you so much! This was fun to make, and fun to watch you two :)

Mangchi is best actual master chef i know. Adorable and lovely my teacher... she taught us cook delicious recipe and i have even prepared kimchi 😊
I made the original fried chicken recipe a couple days ago for a client... I'm a personal chef and owner of a caterer in Portland...and they were absolutely over the moon! This chicken is really really special. The ONLY different thing I do is add some sliced chili to the sauce to make it a bit spicier and some chopped cilantro at the very just before serving. THANK YOU for this beautiful recipe.

no need to really rest them for long, especially if you're frying them in batches and they're "resting" anyway. Also def don't "re bread". Just put them back in the fryer again.
