I really want The Secret History to be made into a movie, but I’m also so worried that it would be bad, that maybe it’s best that it remain “unfilmable”.

i feel like if it were to be made into something for the screen it would have to be a series or a mini series, like condensing donna tartt's mammoth of a book into a 90 minutes feature would be impossible and i feel like there is nothing throwaway in the book

Now, I desperately need a video where you talk about your current setup. I realize I'm way too invested in your home library, please excuse the unhinged nature of what is to follow. There is in fact an amazing movie based on one of Claudia Pineiro's books. The movie and book are called Thursday Widows (Las viudas de los jueves). It's an Argentinian movie from 2009, and it's about four couples living in a luxurious private neighbourhood in Buenos Aires, the secrets they keep and the price they have to pay to keep the facade of a perfect life. It is in Spanish, but i'm sure there must be subtitled versions.. I hiiighly recommend it!

I haven’t made it to the end of this video yet BUT ATLAS SIX!!! if netflix don’t mess up the special effects and make it look stupid then it has their name ALL OVER IT!! Think shadow and bone but modern day new york and london meets umbrella academy. diverse characters, character development driven as well as plot- ugh in love! it would HAVE to be a series though with like 20 episodes each season

I'd love the Micah Nemerever book These Violent Delights to become a movie. And for the Jade City trilogy to become a tv show.

Can we just appreciate how ahead of its time White Teeth was considering British novels written nearly a decade later borrow heavily both in terms of themes and character arcs. (Yes I'm talking about Home Fires).

The last chapter of Home Fire is fiiire. I won’t necessarily place it on my FBoAT list, but it 100% makes the best ending list.

I need Greek retellings to get adapted.
The Song of Achilles, Circe, Ariadne, Clymenestra to name a few!!!
    Dark Academia adaptations too
The Secret History, If We Were Villians (even tho that one got announced a year ago but not sure if that's still happening) Babel, Ninth House etc
soooo many good books that could be incredible tv/movies

Hi Jack, have you ever read "Life After Life" by Kate Atkinson?? If not, I think you'd really enjoy it. It follows the many lives of Ursula Todd. I'm sure the writing will captivate you with how lyrical and descriptive it is. It may even cause you to shed a tear or two. This book gives The Butterfly Effect vibes. This title popped into my head as you were describing V.E. Schwab's "The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue".

So excited to hear that Hamnet will be made into a movie. Also, would love to see The Girls as a TV series, not a movie. A limited one, though.
