Not only is this a super-cute quilt, but the wedge tool sized for 10" squares and the cutting method to cut down the waste is ingenious. So of course I had to order a wedge tool... ;-)
I'm with Barb I love you Jenny and hate waiting for the next video. I am so glad I found your website a few years back. I tell everyone I know about your videos.
What a fun quilt. I love the rickrack. A great quilt for school graduates past and present. NFL fabric would be great for our sports hubby's! Thanks Jenny for another great tutorial. Huggers!
Great tutorial! I just love this fun pennant quilt...and it looks fabulous in the daysail fabric! Can't wait to see what you did with the other pile of pennants! Oh and what a great tool you designed!
Jenny!!!! This is an amazing Quilt and I cannot wait to get my Wedge in the mail. I wanted to order the smaller one too to make a mini penant quilt but MSQC is out of stock. LOL. No wonder with all of the amazing projects that you inspire us to do. Thank you!
I love the pennant quilt. I made my son a nautical theme for his boat. Lots of navy blue. Now I'm looking for the tutorial to use the remaining wedges. Thank you.
Jenny thank you so much for your wonderful tutorials, I have quilting for a year thanks to you. This is probably a silly question, I have seen your tutorial on the pennant quilt, when you add your sashing how do you avoid loosing the tip of your pennant ( the point)?
Hi Jenny! I just love your tutorials. I was wondering what the extra project was that you made with the extra pennants? Also, I was trying to find that triangle ruler on your website but was having trouble finding it. Thanks!
I think you can get a better leftover piece if you make your first cut, then flip the template over, keeping the point of the triangle in the same spot...you get one whole leftover v-shaped chunk instead of the two slivers Jenny shows! I suppose if you're working with a directional pattern it might not work as well though.
Hi Jenny, Love your tutorials you make every thing look so easy.. I have a quistion. What did you do with the second pile of wedges? I couldn't find the second project from the first one. TY, God Bless Betty
Very cute quilt! What I'm not understanding is when you trim the end background piece even with the last pennant how do you not sew off the point of that pennant with your quarter inch seam allowance?
Remember that 1/4" along the bottom will also be in another seam.... and that tiny corner will be covered in ric rac in case it's not absolutely perfect :) Hope that helps!! Thanks for watching!
I'm in! And I was just drooling over this cute fabric at High Prairie Quilts here in Parker, CO this afternoon. Where can I find the wedge you used in the video? I looked on your website & Amazon to no avail. ☺
I'm going to make this for my granddaughter's 2nd birthday! I do have a question though, would you add the ric rack before or after its machine quilted?
Ok again I was trying to say when I sew my saying on my points are gone from the pennant, please give me tips on this. Have referred to block book instructions and doesn't help, the only thing I can think of is to bring white points down further and shave off top to match. Is that my solution?
I love your videos! I'll NEVER make a small portion of your quilts. That said, I just realized that you have a large cutting mat. I have a 3'x6' mat. It has been brought to my attention that the mats should be soaked/watered/cleaned. I can manage that with my smaller mats, but have you done that with your table-sized mats, and if so, HOW???? Thanks!
Jenny love your videos BUT I would love to be able to get the written patterns so I have instructions right in front of me. Can you help me out on this please!!
I love your tutorials! I do not like the new white cutting mat. The green ,blue or red are much more comfortable( the glare) for seeing the project pieces especially the white or lights.
A fun quilt, but be careful with the yardage for the background. The 1 1/2 yards Jenny says for the background will do the background triangles, but not the 4" sashing. I'm hoping that 2 more yards will take care of the sashing!
couldn't you just take the one white triangle- sew it to the other 'empty' colored one at the other end of the row- make a circle of sorts and then cut the white in half? or cut the white in half and sew it to the other side. You are putting white border on those ends anyway and it would save a lot of fabric, yes?
Could you get three pennant off one layer cake, even if you make the pennants a little smaller (I am a remnant freak and utterly cheap) There might be a seam across the third one; it could change the design a little, but NO BUT LITTLE WASTE
Elisabeth Loehrlein I like that idea! I am a NO waste kind of chick :) I cringe when she says that that chunk of fabric is waste. I make stuff out of smaller pieces like those.
#5 time-Jenny's a left-handed person when using rotary cutter & right-handed with scissors. Not important in the slightest-just something that popped out as unusual as I watched last few.
I don't know what I love more, You Jenny or the quilt.... I do know I hate waiting till I can watch another video.... your biggest fan..
hugs
Barb
You're so sweet, babescraftroom! Thank you for your kind comment! So glad you're enjoying the tutorials!

Love this quilt! bought the Large Simple Wedge. I'll try it.
I picture doing an embroidery on each pennant - to designate sports teams!
How cool that would be for a sports-minded boy and girl.
Ooohh that sounds so fun! If you try it, send us a pic!! :D
I love the pennant quilt. I made my son a nautical theme for his boat. Lots of navy blue. Now I'm looking for the tutorial to use the remaining wedges. Thank you.

@Linda Mihay You will definitely want to handle the fabric delicately!
I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS. YOU ARE GREAT ¡¡¡¡ THANK FOR YOUR TUTORIALS I HAVE LEARNED SO MUCH FROM YOU ... THIS VERY EASY
Jenny thank you so much for your wonderful tutorials, I have quilting for a year thanks to you. This is probably a silly question, I have seen your tutorial on the pennant quilt, when you add your sashing how do you avoid loosing the tip of your pennant ( the point)?

Hi Jenny, why not fold the square in half diagonally before you cut so you don't have to be so careful and you get done twice as fast? :)
BrokebutCreative See everyone can learn something, Even Jenny!!
Hi Jenny,
Love your tutorials you make every thing look so easy.. I have a quistion. What did you do with the second pile of wedges? I couldn't find the second project from the first one. TY, God Bless

Since you aren't cutting on the grain, does this not cause a problem with stretching on the bias?

Hi Jenny, just 2 questions:
I think on the picture the rickrack is sewn after quilting. Quilting with Monofilament?
Regards from Switzerland.
I was wondering what kind of sewing machine do you use and what is the iron you use?
The iron is Oliso and it's great. The pink is limited edition I think.
Thanks. =)
wow I can also appliqué a child's name on this quilt.
Yes, absolutely!! That would be darling!
I'm going to make this for my granddaughter's 2nd birthday! I do have a question though, would you add the ric rack before or after its machine quilted?
You'll probably want to do it before, so it's enclosed in the seams of the border :)
Does anyone know the finished size of the quilt, and how much backing material will be needed?
Ok again I was trying to say when I sew my saying on my points are gone from the pennant, please give me tips on this. Have referred to block book instructions and doesn't help, the only thing I can think of is to bring white points down further and shave off top to match. Is that my solution?
I was at A show and A lady had log cabin quilt in each corner was A star do you have this pattern?

oh for heaven sakes! This is my grandson! And I don't know how to change it, sorry! I am Pam, lol!
Jenny love your videos BUT I would love to be able to get the written patterns so I have instructions right in front of me. Can you help me out on this please!!
Jenny has a magazine called Block and the entire magazine is made up of her tutorials in written form!! Hope this helps!!
What was the follow-up project to use the extra pennants? I can’t find it!
another great quilt what fun Have a layer cake called scoot from Riley Blake that should work great,
Oh, that will be so cute!! :)
What size is this quilt?
Please guide me for making this of52"* 63"

+Lucismiles I think the smaller wedge may fit on the "waste" portion. For even less waste just cut from yardage.
Jenny, trying to do this peenant quilt. It when I see dashing on my points are gone, please help!
#5 time-Jenny's a left-handed person when using rotary cutter & right-handed with scissors. Not important in the slightest-just something that popped out as unusual as I watched last few.
for many years there were no scissors for left handed, so we learned to do it right handed!!
