I'm self taught and since I've been watching your videos, I have learned so much and tackled blocks I never thought I could make. You explain things so well and something's I just couldn't get, I'll watch you and it just clicks. Thank you for being such a wonderful teacher.
Hello from overseas! I just love Jenny, she is so quick, so good explained, it's delightful to watch her with the morning coffee! Even my kids, despite the fact they don't know a word on English, they have fun with her " look, mumy, look, it's like magic with fabric!"
Dearest Jenny, please never quit making these videos for us. Watching you on Friday morning is the kick off to my weekend. You start my day and I only need to work one more long day before I can get started on a new project.
Jenny you make me smile!! You should go in the Quilting Hall of Fame. You know many quilting secrets that you are so easy. You make me smile and you make me a better quilter!! God Bless and keep on quilting!!
I have watched you make this star several times in other tutorials [doll quilt] but for some reason, it finally clicked with this tutorial. I will be making many many Lemon stars for all kinds of projects. Thank You, Jenny!
The quilt is lovely, and the fabric choice is perfect. I love both the colors and prints, they are bright and cheerful and are perfect for this pattern.
Good evening Good evening again, Mrs Jenny Doan. That Lemon Star quilt is also beautiful. I made those Lemon Star as border's of my Vintage Moment quilt design by Marsha McCloskey which I ordered from the USA years back. They are beautiful. Thnx for showing.
I made Jenny’s Allstar quilt. Just for grins, I made one of these blocks in March 2020 and set it aside. I just did another after using quilting to deal with the last year. It’s amazing how much better I’ve gotten in a year. Don’t give up!
Saw this drop before I headed off to bed. Love it. And love the bright, happy colors! After making my blocks for the BOM, i will want to make a whole quilt using only this block, for sure! But first, I must get those slotted trimmers to square them up. Thanks again Jenny for a great tutorial!
Love the Lemon Star quilt 😍💖 I’ll definitely be trying that! You and I sew alike…no messing around 😂😂😂 although I do cut all of my fabrics…. I didn’t know anything else. I wasn’t educated on the packaging types/sizes/names of precut fabrics 😱… but then again it could be my old school age of 72 yrs..plus watching my grandmas and great grannies quilt….🙏🏼💖💖💖
I am making Star blocks out of 10" squares right now, from all kinds of left over fabric. Far from perfect but love how these come together. I have to make 9 of these for the size of quilt I have in mind. Love your videos how you put things together.
I am just now quilting with a pattern I did with this fabric - it's SO pretty, would highly recommend it! The colors are just gorgeous and the fabric is super cute. I love this pattern, will be doing this soon!
I love your tutorials Jenny! They are so helpful for ppl like me that aren’t expert quilters. Watching your videos gives me hope that I can actually make something!! Haha! I think I can, I think I can!
So lovely!! I like how you showed us the infamous "chain piecing", and the extra tip to make this in quadrants. Your tutorials are always so helpful, Jenny, THANK YOU! And if 4 charm packs make a quilt this big, I'll bet I can make a cute baby quilt with 2 charm packs. Awesome!! ~Diana K. from Hamilton (Ontario, that is) p.s. Congratulations for being highlighted on 'CBS Sunday Morning', MSQC Family. You deserve all the hoopla you all get!!!
Omg...thank u so much for this wonderful tutorial. Have always luved this block but didnt think i could make it...now i can. The fabric choice u used is perfect.
I love, love, love this quilt. I’ll be adding this to my list of quilts I want to do. The Lori Holt fabric really sets it off great. I love her fabric lines!
Just finished my Lemon Star using Tula Pink -True colors… off to the long arm, thank you for making this difficult looking patter so easy to put together
I had a lot of left over 10 inch squares, both white and blues. It was enough to make 20 stars (4 rows of 5 stars), so my quilt is a bit smaller but it works for me! Great tutorial! I just added two borders - one thinner, one at 6 inches.
This is such a great tutorial, Jenny! I so look forward to making this quilt. Thank you so much for sharing...you are such a great instructor!!! God bless you!!!
dear Jenny, thank you SO much for these tutorials! My great-grandmother made quilts, and now it's my turn to learn how. The shop I was going to go for lessons is closed, and your videos have been so helpful during this time of quarantine! Thank you for making it so understandable and easy to follow.
Just love this method for this 🌟 star. Also the batch sewing and chain piecing I find is very relaxing - lots of time for dreaming, without the usual eek I have seen the wrong bits together. Thank you Jenny.
Jenny, (and I know you probably get tired of hearing this EVERY week) but I think your tutorials are the best OUT THERE!! (2nd runner-up is Donna Jordan from Jordan Fabrics...and my 3rd choice is The Crafty Gemini, Vanessa Vargas Wilson) I just can't WAIT to watch the new "FRIDAY tutorial.....I get so excited and happy! Love this idea....and it goes onto my HUGE "TO QUILT" list. TBH, I'll never get all the quilts made on my list! Jenny, do you have any suggestions on how to get all the quilts done on YOUR list? LOL! Love MSQC!!!
Thanks a million for another great tutorial! You always make it so easy! I love those stars! This perfect ruler you’re using seems like a great tool! 🌸🌸
Great idea to follow-up the BOM #1 with a Friday video. Great way to reach out to everyone even those who are not subscribing. Never thought I would be able to make this star. Enjoyed the background story of LeMoyne Star.
I agree.....Eleanor Burns has a great idea for the Double Wedding Ring, but I am patiently waiting for Jenny &/or her daughters/daughters-in-laws to come up with a Double Wedding Ring Quilt!! I'm sure it will happen someday! :)
Yeah, but the Double Wedding Ring quilt is not really a pre-cut friendly pattern... and way too complex to tackle in a 12-minute video. You're better off taking a class for that pattern, IMO. Good luck!
Wow jenny your ideas are so awesome🤓. I love all of them. I have also done a lot of quilts following ur instructions. They turned out really well. Keep updating videos please😊
I have three hard to find charm packs of Morris Holiday metallic and have now found my pattern to make a Christmas throw. Thank you! Beautifully done as always.
There's just something about star patterns. It's great to have an eight-pointed star technique for the y-seam impaired. I've watched Edyta Sitar's beginner eight-pointed star tutorial using y-seams a couple of times. I'll have to give both techniques a try and see which one works for my brain.
I just saw you on the CBS Morning show today! I was so excited to see you and the family and all your friends that work with you. Getting to Hamilton will be in my future for sure. Your RUclips videos introduced me to quilting and I thank every one at Missouri Star Quilt Company for that!
I'll definitely give it a try. I'm a beginner and that will be my first star. Thank you for such a great tutorial. A hug from Brazil ( here we love hugging 😁).
I was so afraid of this block, but JENNY I made it! It came out so beautiful! Thank you!!!!!

I have my morning coffee with her every Friday morning, as well, in southwest Florida :)
Me too in Manitoba, Canada
with a glass of wine Friday after work :)
Love the girls working making 3 different quilt out same design . Ohio loves ya

I've only been sewing a couple of weeks I love your videos .
So pretty, Jenny. You make it look so much easier. Thanks for that! I could watch you all day. Your voice is soothing! ☺️❤️🇦🇺
Love how easy you make each block go together. You've inspired me to try so many blocks that I thought were too complicated.
The quilt is lovely, and the fabric choice is perfect. I love both the colors and prints, they are bright and cheerful and are perfect for this pattern.
I so appreciate you going back to classic designs!

I have been looking for a video that explains this in an easy way and I finally found it thanks to you, Jenny! Thank you!
I just finished this quilt this August and I used Mackinaw Island fabric. It was loads of fun and kept me busy making a full sized quilt.
What is Mackinaw Island fabric? Also from MI
You are an excellent teacher. You make the block construction appear so easy.
Another winner! Thanks

Question. I just starting this quilt. What does each star block finish to? 10.25 or 10.5 before sewing all the stars together?
@@vanginmi I have the same question, did you ever figure it out
@@marybethstimeforpaper I went with scant. And didnt trim and eased all my seams. Also iron seams open for bulk in the middle. 😉
