    Those nubs would be perfect to add to the stuffing of a pincushion.
    If you make a pincushion for your collection everytime you make a quilt, you will have a reference to the fabrics for every quilt you make.

    Thanks for this video. I’m just starting my first 3-D quilt (Escalator, by the same designer) and while the directions were pretty good, they didn’t really include the piece by piece construction (The directions showed doing pairs, but not when you added piece 3, 4, etc.). Love your tips about piecing, matching rows and cutting for the border. So happy I found this.

    Hi. What an interesting pattern. I'm going to really enjoy your tutorials. Your explanations are really explicit!!! Thank you so much. I probably won't be doing this one but want to do something else with the triangle. So was glad to listen to how to use it.

    • @CarolThelen
      @CarolThelen  2 года назад

      I like the versitility of the equilaterial triangle. When I realized the seams are sewn vertically, it opened up a whole new world for me! I have two other videos with equilaterial triangles: ruclips.net/video/jfN9mK26NO0/видео.html and ruclips.net/video/XD5KvP8PUMM/видео.html

    Carol , love the calmness of your video and no extra headache music. Thank you. My question is in the cutting, I have the Clearview Triangle 60 degree ruler 6 inch, but the top it not cut off as you show in the video. Am I suppose to put the top solid line on the ruler on the top edge of the fabric? Thank you, Ginger

    • @CarolThelen
      @CarolThelen  2 года назад +1

      The top point should go to the top of the fabric. The bottom line of the finished size you want should be at the bottom of the fabric.

    I am confused. When the pin goes in "at the top of the triangle" - it seems to be a few threads off. But it works so nicely. How is the pin inserted so it works out?

    • @CarolThelen
      @CarolThelen  2 года назад +1

      The few threads become insignificant when you look at the intersection from even a short distance. Try to get as close as you can to the tip of the triangle and put the pin there. Be sure the pin is perpendicular to the fabric before pinning the fabric together. Also, when sewing the seam, aim for the exact point where the pin went into the fabric. Do it a few times and it becomes a habit😀. Thank you for watching.

    Would there be an advantage to trimming all the “nubs” off to begin with?

    • @CarolThelen
      @CarolThelen  3 года назад +2

      For me I don't see much advangage for trimming all the points at the beginning. Most of the triangle rulers only have one blunt end. So in order to trim off the other points you would need to reposition the ruler and cut each one. I'm guessing that this process would take more time than triming each corner as you go. I do like using the points to position the pieces before sewing. It's worth a try just to see how you like it.

    • @CarolThelen

      I can't remember how many sets of different fabrics were required...maybe 10? So for each set I chose a light, medium and dark in the same colorway. That would be a total of 30 different fabrics. Hope this helps.

    I have this pattern, can I use the triangle in the Angles set?

    • @CarolThelen
      @CarolThelen  Год назад

      As long as it is a 60 degree (equilateral) triangle it will work. If you are talking about the Tri Rec tool set, that triangle is not a 60 degree and it will not work. All the big quilting names make them. I would search for "60 degree triangle quilting rulers" and see if yours is one of them. It's a great quilt. I hope you can make one. Thanks for watching.
