I love how different they all are. I think over time it would be easy to make them all. Making this scrappy block between other projects would make for a lot of blocks really quickly.
Hi! I hope you had a delightful day. I just got my first chance to sit down and watch your video because it has been a fun sewing day for me. I hope you have a lovely week ahead. Thank you for sharing your video and your talent.
Another new subscriber here! I am so glad that I stumbled across this video and found you! I am going to make this block for sure, although I haven't decide which layout I want to use yet. They are all so cool! Thank you so much!
Your tutorial just "happened" to show up & I was so excited that it did. I have wanted to make this pattern for a while. You make it look so easy and I especially appreciate the variations. THANKS!
I just found you. Amazing! I Iove the third one. But I like the first one also. You've got yourself a new subscriber. And I've got me soms new items on my to-do-list. Thank you for your time and sharing!
We ( me an my sewing pal) made one for each of us. of the step quilt ( king size) and we have 2 more to make for wedding presents, April and August. We have so much left over material, We just love this patterns, we have put every thing on hold till the wedding quilts are done thank you for your great ideas. P.
You just popped up like magic so I’ve watched, subscribed and liked. I admire people who are willing to share their talents and passions as you are doing. I like #2 best, followed by #3. The first one is too angular for my taste. I’m one who prefers precision cutting so I always cut my pieces to exact size before I sew. That helps me with accurate sewing and blocks don’t need trimming. So I was fascinated by your approach: the 5” rectangles didn’t bother you a bit because you knew you could just trim later. So here I was, cringing at the extra fabric and enjoying your discussion/demo of your precision approach to trimming at the same time! I truly enjoy seeing the different paths people take to their quilting destinations. Have you watched The Questioning Quilter channel? You and Brita remind me of each other.
Yes! And if you turn it so the lights are horizontal and the darks are vertical, it really looks like stair steps. Very three dimensional! I just love it! Your whole process shows the “art” at the heart of quilting.
Oh my goodness! I just discovered you and have watched about 4 of your videos, all of which were added to my to-do list. Thank you for your simple instructions that lead to fabulous quilts.
Hello, you came up on my feed and I’m so glad! I love “trompe l’oeil” quilts, they are my favorites. These ideas will help me get unstuck on my current quilt. Thank you! Liked & Subscribed.
Wow! I have never done a scrappy quilt design before…. But I’m really loving all three of these quilt designs and may have to finally tackle a scrappy quilt! Thanks for sharing your creativity with us!! 💜
When I use a regular ruler to cut the hst I mark wit with a piece of masking tape for quick easy placement. Love the quilts ....I have no idea which one I like best...
I’ve been watching you all day. I unsubscribe to 3 other channels and added you. You are brilliant and easy to learn from. Thank you for working while you teach. 👍👍
I love that with each option you became more excited. You thought you'd do the first option because that's the one that originally intrigued you. I love that you/we stay open to what comes to us as we create!
My favorite are the last two. So many possibilities gets the thinker going😊 off to my happy place to go play with fabric. Thank you so very much for sharing your visions. 🪡🧵💖
That’s why I love EQ8…you can put the blocks in, change colors and rotate blocks to discover so my “hidden” designs-0-I print them out and let them sit before I finalize my design
I like one & three because it is like an optical illusion. I just bought, "Stunning 3-D Quilts book by Ruth Ann Berry (C & T Publishing) and it is truly an awesome work of art. I'm into modern rather than traditional. Your ideas are GREAT!
Thank you, Thank you!! I truly want to make all 3!!! They all have great appeal to me. I appreciate your teaching quality, so glad you shared this video.
THIS LOOKS AMAZING!!!! Do you maybe have some written instructions and the measurements. I’m sure people who have been quilting for years could just whip this out after watching….but I am new to quilting and can’t! I would love to make this, I think it’s doable for a beginner, right? Please let me know if you have written instructions and where I can get them!
This design is definitely beginner-friendly. I've listed the measurements in the description below the video. I do not have written instructions at this point, but you can for sure do this. I am self-taught and have learned everything about quilting mostly from watching tutorials & learning techniques. Please give it a try and I am more than willing to help you in any way I can, even if that means a personal conversation. You've got this!
Thank you….I was just watching your other tutorials when you responded. I’m not sure why my brain doesn’t comprehend quilt patterns well, I have ordered patterns and don’t understand them, I’ve watched tutorials and tried writing instructions down as I watch and then I don’t understand exactly what I wrote down when I go to make the quilt!!! I will watch your tutorial a few more times and if I can get just one block done, then I’ll be OK……I am so impressed with the looks of this quilt. I have over 20 button up shirts that were my sons and I would like to make a quilt for his children with them and YOUR COOL PATTERN!!!!
I made this quilt with scraps from apparel sewing and leftover fabric from a quilt as you go hexagon quilt I made last summer. Thanks for the great instructions.
The middle one seems to appeal to me. They are all lovely really. Just go to show what you can do with scraps. You made my heart smile watching this. I thank you from New Zealand
I just found you and subscribed. This is the second video I've seen. I love the geometry (retired math teacher) of your designs and the step by step, thorough, well paced method of your tutorials. Your new friend from New Mexico. 🎶💐💖🫂
I love the first and third layouts! The second one looks too busy to me. So happy you chose the third one. Now I want to make one of each of those! Thanks a lot! 😂
Now you’re going to have to make 3 quilts. Thank you for sharing I think I’m going to have all 3 this is nice for a beginner. I’m new to your channel you popped up on my RUclips. I hope you’re having a blessed day God bless you and your family.
Hi, I've been looking for an amazing quilt to make for my artistic son, who's turning 24 next month. Your quilt tutorial was a blessing! You're an excellent teacher, and the video is so easy to follow. Thank you for also giving us the cutting instruments for free. Many blessings to you, I'm hooked. Thanks again. 😊
I liked all three layouts. Your second option made me think of a kid at a circus with pinwheels everywhere. I don’t know which one was my favorite. I liked all of them.
Wow I I am loving your work. I saw you on my list of what I call ‘this may interest you’ list, and you did. I have been sewing clothes and things for some sixty years and now I absolutely love quilting. Just started trying, faked my way through a panel and a couple of baby quilts. Your tutorial is great, my ruler will be delivered tomorrow, today I am cutting strips. Thanks for this video, I am going to love making it. Thank you for sharing.
These are awesome!! You have inspired me to try this block and to attempt my floating block quilt already kitted up. Your enthusiasm is contagious. You now have a new subscriber from NC. Your work is stunning. My favorite is the first one.
I was captured by the many options for laying out these squares once you had your blocks sewn. Thanks for the tutorial! I'm going to make this my second ever quilt. I made a quilt as you go hexagon one last summer. Just getting into quilting and this looks like so many options from one simple block.
Just chanced on your channel. Love this block! Your demo is perfect. I also immediately subscribed. I’m looking forward to binging your videos. Thanks for sharing your time and skill!
Love this. All 3 quilts. Have to admit I was hoping for a version of the pinwheel with all 4 blocks the same fabrics and with white framing so you get another 3D variation. Have to agree with stairstep version of the ones you made. Tks so much.
I love your o'lipfa mini ruler. Thanks for sharing your inspiration. I often see tile patterns that inspire me. Doing this type of problem solving (inspiration to execution!) really helps solidify skills. If one wanted a little more efficient fabric utilization, the strip tube strips could have been a wee bit narrower to align the tip of ruler with stitching line. I love my Martelli trimmer!
No mulling…just make enough blocks for all 3 designs!!! Love them all!!!
I had the same thoughts
ABSOLUTELY !!!!!!
I find these kind of blocks fascinating
After watching this, I don’t need to buy a strip tube ruler! Thanks for the great tip!!!
You absolutely don't need to, BUT they are pretty nice to have. I use mine a lot!
Totally love the stairs! It is the most 3D one. You did a great job of explaining. Thank you for giving me a new idea!!
Thanks so much! 😊 It is my pleasure!
I love how different they all are. I think over time it would be easy to make them all. Making this scrappy block between other projects would make for a lot of blocks really quickly.
This is an incredible block. I love all three designs. I’m adding this to my to do list. Thanks!
Thank you! I was also surprised at all the possibilities of it! Happy quilting!
Thank you for showing us the blocks Nice ideas.
Great tutorial! I always get confused about which way to press. You explained everything very clearly. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!🥰
Oh my, I just found yourchannel. What an awesome block. I love all three layouts.
Thank you for watching!
I love all the layouts but the first one ( tiles) without the sashing was nice too. I love watching your creativity.
Thanks so much! 😊
Amazing for sure. Thanks for sharing. Deb ❤
Thanks for watching!
Hi! I hope you had a delightful day. I just got my first chance to sit down and watch your video because it has been a fun sewing day for me. I hope you have a lovely week ahead. Thank you for sharing your video and your talent.
Thank you so much! I appreciate your support and good wishes!
You are such a great teacher! Very patient and detailed in explaining your methods and ideas. Love all your work!!

Optical illusion in number 3 is very strong. Love number 3
It's so beautiful!!! I like your video. From Russia with Love!!!

I liked one and two in that order. I am not as drawn to three. They are all lovely!
Poutama design is the one for me. Thank you.
Love this block so much! So many options. Thanks for sharing what you learned.
It is my pleasure!
Your tutorial just "happened" to show up & I was so excited that it did. I have wanted to make this pattern for a while. You make it look so easy and I especially appreciate the variations. THANKS!
You are so welcome!
Luv these, and I think I like the last one the most!!

Wow! I'll bet they look amazing!
Absolutely love them all 🤗🤗🤗
Thanks SO MUCH for the demo on 2.5 in HST using a regular ruler. They look perfect.
I do love this method for HSTs. Especially since I don’t have to do as much math.
Wow!! Love this. Never heard of you before but this came up on the side panel and I had to check it out. Sooooo cool! I love 3-D effect quilts.
Thank you for watching! I also love the 3-D effects along with any quilts that end up with cool secondary patterns.
You are a fantastic teacher!
Wow, thank you!
You just popped up like magic so I’ve watched, subscribed and liked. I admire people who are willing to share their talents and passions as you are doing.

I love doing that too. I learn so much from other people. I have not seen that channel, but I will definitely check it out! Thank you!
Love the quilt. I chose version 3, but you made it even better in the final design
Thank you for checking them out! It was so hard to decide!
Yes! And if you turn it so the lights are horizontal and the darks are vertical, it really looks like stair steps. Very three dimensional! I just love it! Your whole process shows the “art” at the heart of quilting.

Indeed! I love options!

Wow, thank you. I kind of feel sorry for the channels that you unsubscribed from though...
I love that with each option you became more excited. You thought you'd do the first option because that's the one that originally intrigued you. I love that you/we stay open to what comes to us as we create!
I totally agree! That's what's great about being creative I think; being open to new ideas/possibilities. Thank you for watching!
OMG!!!!!! Awesome. You know they say that you tend go back to the original first idea. I really like them all but I like the first one best.
Thanks for watching! I love the feedback!
Wow! What a versatile design. Tfs, hugs from Wales UK xx
Thank you! Cheers!
My favorite are the last two. So many possibilities gets the thinker going😊 off to my happy place to go play with fabric. Thank you so very much for sharing your visions. 🪡🧵💖

I love how you show squaring a block. Great tips.
Glad it was helpful!
So glad you chose this layout. It's modern, edgy, geometric & doesn't look like a scrappy hodge podge of blocks. It turned out GREAT & very STYLISH!😊
I totally agree!
Thank you so much for showing us your creativity. I will , in my way, try and emulate it. It’s beautiful!
My pleasure 😊
I love the pinwheels inside of pinwheels. Now I have to make this. Thanks for the inspiration!❤

I so love this! Feels like a great scrap stash buster!
For sure! It's a great scrap-buster. I have loads of scraps I need to use. Thanks for your support!
These are awesome!! You have inspired me to try this block and to attempt my floating block quilt already kitted up. Your enthusiasm is contagious. You now have a new subscriber from NC. Your work is stunning. My favorite is the first one.
Thank you so much! I am grateful for your support. I really love what I do & I'm glad it shows.

Love the 3D effect. I will do this with 2 1/2" straps that I have plenty of. Great lesson. TY
Awesome! Have fun!
I was captured by the many options for laying out these squares once you had your blocks sewn. Thanks for the tutorial! I'm going to make this my second ever quilt. I made a quilt as you go hexagon one last summer. Just getting into quilting and this looks like so many options from one simple block.
Wonderful! I'm impressed that your first quilt ever was the QAYG Hexie quilt! Have fun!
Yea, a new quilt show! Subscribed and looking forward to some more no nonsense videos.

What fantastic designs and video. I can’t decide which one I like the best Love them all. Thank you.
Thank you for watching!
Thank you! I love them all!😊❤️
Gosh me too! That’s why I had to put it to a vote. I honestly couldn’t decide.
Love this. All 3 quilts. Have to admit I was hoping for a version of the pinwheel with all 4 blocks the same fabrics and with white framing so you get another 3D variation. Have to agree with stairstep version of the ones you made. Tks so much.
Great idea!
Love this 😍😍😍
I'm so glad! Thank you for watching!
Love all 3 going to do all of them. Your tutorial is great.
Enjoy!
I love your o'lipfa mini ruler. Thanks for sharing your inspiration. I often see tile patterns that inspire me.
