It's Triple Play Day, and the Doan girls are ready to share three new house block quilts:
Natalie's Happy House quilt is filled with itty bitty houses. Look closely, and you'll find applique windows, embroidered flowers, and other tiny surprises. This quilt is made with layer cake squares from Juliette by Angela Nickeas for Wilmington Prints .
Misty's Galway Bay was inspired by a trip to Ireland and that beautiful oceanside village. Boats, pinwheels, and house blocks are set against a clean white background with water-themed machine quilting. This fabric for this blue-and-white beauty is Shoreline by Camille Roskelley for Moda Fabrics.
Jenny's Neighborhood Nights quilt is made with a black, star-filled background. Her fabric is Bloomberry by Minki Kim for Riley Blake, and the extra bits become TWO charming table runners-one with stars and one with houses.

I first heard of Tiny House thru Jenny. I was new to quilting, and thought “Wouldn’t it be fun to make a tiny house with the scrap of every quilt I make? It would be like a Quilt Journal Quilt! 5 years later, I have 59 tiny houses made! And each house is embroidered with the year, and if it was gifted, who it was gifted to. And if I kept it, just the year. Thank you for the inspiration 5 years ago!
I became obsessed with them, too, after seeing Jenny's!! After seeing her on the one video with some of the "doors" having characters peeking out, I started looking thru my stash & found prints with ghosts, scarecrows, cats, different things to use for mine! Of course they had to be tiny to fit the size of the door but they were really fun to use.
I do this too but didn’t think to put name and year on them great idea
What a great idea! I may “steal” it! I think having a memory quilt of my own from each gifted quilt is going to be wonderful! Thank you for sharing!! 😄
I made the tiny house quilt back in 2019-2020. It was during Covid , I made a house for every day we were homebound. 225 days…225 houses. The quilt is massive, but a positive effect of COVID….I was able to quilt every single day. And I have a beautiful quilt from that time.
what a GREAT idea!! 😍
Enjoying Misty’s quilt tutorial “Galway Bay”. My apartment looks over Galway Bay. So glad she liked Galway
The Doan Girls really upped their game with this Triple Play! Misty should send this quilt to the little town you visited. I bet the people would love it.
Yes,yes,yes!
This is one of my favorite Triple Play segments and that is really saying something because I always love your Triple Play episodes!
I agree...would love to make all three!
WOW...the ladies have outdone themselves. At first I thought Natalie's was too fussy, but I was mistaken. It;'s an easy project. I loved both Misty and Jenny's quilts and then Jenny topped it all off with TWO bonus projects. This Triple Play is a HOME RUN!!!
Jenni I love how you are so frugal with your scraps
I made a little house quilt from my scrap fabric....it turned out so cute. I added trees and the sun and other embellishments, I was so pleased with it.
That sounds so pretty!
I see my life fly by. I can’t believe it is Triple Play already. I look forward to these ladies every month, but a month couldn’t have gone already. Thank you MSQC for another great Triple Play.
These are great for those fabrics that we all have that we don't love. If you don't like the fabric, you haven't cut it small enough yet.
Yes!! I have 3 bundles of 1/2 yard pieces. So, 20 fabrics, a yard and a half of each, that I don't care for. Maybe this is small enough pieces!!
This triple play is one of my favorites. Thanks Ladies
Natalie…your bonus block would make an adorable pillow cover.
These projects are so pretty. I love Triple Play days.
Cute reminds me of the 🛖 huts in africa would make mine with a zebra or Leopard print boarder.
I love triple play day, all your quilts are awesome, but this time I am in love with Mistys quilt. I think I will make a small wallhanging. It will be perfect for summer. Thank you ladies for all your inspiration. I hope some day I can come to Missouri. Greetings from Austria 🇦🇹
Just when I think that there couldn’t possibly be a better Triple Play, the Doan ladies come up with a new set of quilts that I simply can’t live without! Ladies, all three of your quilts are on my “must make” list. Thank you so much for sharing your amazing talent and knowledge with me! I’m so excited!!!❤️
Love them all. Natalie's would be a great stash buster. Love Misty's sailboats and Jenny's wonky stars.
Our winter quilting group made little house blocks last year from our accumulated scraps, then swapped around. Lots of different projects, from quilts to table runners to place mats to pillows, you name it. Was so much fun at the end of the year when we had our little show to see all the different interpretations.
Misty that is such an interesting quilt design
I love Misty’s quilt
😊 the Doan Girls have knocked it out of the park in this triple play! I love all 3. So creative. Thank you for making Fridays fun.
This is one of the best triple plays you all have done. I'm going to miss Jenny after September.
oh, what did I miss ? What is happening after September ??
@@user-zs7df5ze8u Ron and Jenny are taking 2 years off to do missionary work. They are leaving right after birthday bash.
Can they do that?
Loved all three!❤
WOW. What a Triple Play!
Natalie said “Shore thing” to Missy. ⛵️Haha.
Love Mistys houses. Have alreade started another project with the shoreline fabrics. I think I will rip that and try to save the fabric to a house quilt instead.
To many ideas - to little time and fabrics.
So I saw Natalie's small project with hand embellishment.. YES! I love me some hand embroidery. I loved Jenny's table runners so much. But wow Natalie, Galway Bay has got to be your best triple play to date, could also be because I'm quarter Irish, but this one is going on my "before I go the big retreat in the sky" list.
We're right there with you when it comes to the hand embroidered elements. SEW GOOD right?! 😍
How in the world do you ladies do this so fast & so accurate?! Awesome.😵💫
I recently finished 2 quilts with Jenny’s original tiny houses. I used all scraps from dresses I made for my Granddaughters and presented them the quilts. They are beautiful and full of memories. Love these new designs.
I love all three quilts equally! 3 more quilts in my future. A tree between each one would also be so cute. Thanks for sharing
I love mini house block quilts. Made one with a sky changing from day to night
Love this! I especially like Natalie’s quilt, not only because they are tiny and cute and have so many points of interest (especially the wall hanging) but also because the backgrounds are something OTHER THAN white!
I love all three quilts! Best triple play
I've been afraid to use black or dark backgrounds due to the possibility of the color running. But I love the contrast. I washed a gifted quilt with burgundy. I used 2 color catchers, cold water, and the quilt got ruined. I prewashed a black piece of fabric, 2 times in hot with color catcher. The black was still not set. I didn't dare use it on a quilt. Any suggestions??
Hello, ladies!
Wow! Three (well, 5 including Jenny’s 2 bonus quilts!) fabulous and unique house quilts. I now have all of them on my to-do list. I think I’ll use Natalie’s for pillows for my trailer, Misty’s for a kid’s donation quilt and a throw for my trailer, and Jenny’s for another trailer pillow or throw quilt. For Natalie’s, I’ll strip-piece the sashing and subcut, since it helps my accuracy.
Thank you all, and stay well!

The black background makes this quilt. I so see myself making this in Christmas fabrics!
SAME ! I ordered Jenny’s version immediately and yes indeed will also make this in a Christmas scheme 🎄
If a grade school teacher is a quilter or knows one then I think that it would be a great project for a grade school class to put together. So cute.
I’ve tried. I won’t even tell you the responses that I got from my elementary students. Very rude about it. I had to send one out of my classroom. Elementary kids do not have any interest in this “old lady, boring” stuff, according to a class of 5th graders.
It's true. Kids are rude. No filter with their opinions.
Jenny you are the Queen of Quilting ❤ I love the stars and the black background makes it pop
I adore these house quilts. Misty is always coming up with new ways to do tricky piecing. The flying geese today. The square -in- a-square trick not long ago. Great Triple Play. Thank you all. 🥰❤️🧵🪡
I love these triple plays although I always find myself adding 3 more quilts to my list of quilts I want to make! All very pretty!
You did it again. I love what each of you came up with.and who doesn’t love bonus projects with the leftovers,
I’ve been getting ready to make another Jenny Lane on Christmas fabrics, but now I’m thinking I might make this one instead! Great work ladies! ❤
I love these quilts! Natalies is the ultimate scrap buster, Misty's is just stunning and SEW fun and the black background in Jenny's really makes the quilt pop. As with all your tutorials I learn something new and fun. The day I met Jenny she has just completed a day of filming and that is the blouse she was wearing :) and that was just about 3 weeks ago. The Doan girls are simply the best!
Thank you for some inspiration! I loved all three quilts, but I think my favorite is Jenny's neighborhood nights. I love the dark background, making the colors in the quilt pop! And that backing is beautiful!
I adore these little houses
Hi from Ireland 🇮🇪 love your Galway Bay quilt Misty. I did see the photos of your Ireland visit. I made my grandson Donnacha a tiny house pillow, he loves it. Thanks girls.
Sew Clever Misty
I need to make some sail boats❤
Triple Play is my favorite video. I love all the quilts shown today. The little houses are super cute and love Natalie's little bonus block. Jenny always designs a lovely and fun quilt. I love the house and star two favorite blocks together. I really like the black background. I tend to go light, but this looks great and I think I'll have to reconsider sometimes. Love the table runner!! I have to say though, my parents are from Ireland, and I've been to Galway Bay a few times. Misty's quilt really does look like Galway Bay- I really love it! 💙💚⛵☘ Thank you ladies!
I think the Neighborhood Nights quilt fabric is so beautiful and it would make a great quilt from my quilt scraps as well.
I think every quilt should be put together by three people! 😊. Much more fun. Love all the houses ❤
I look forward to the triple play. Today’s quilts were so much fun. I especially liked the extra projects from Jenny’s segment.
I was thinking it was Triple Day today! Yay! Jenny's just sang to me! I have a layer cake or two that would work with that!! Her excitement over the stars is just catching! Great block & projects this month, ladies... & as usual y'all are looking fabulous! Happy quilting! 🧵
I love each one’s creativity and the finished product. All of these are amazing!!! But if I were to make one, it would be Jenny’s neighborhood!!! Love the fabric with the black background.
So much work went into Natalie's quilt! I might make something like that in a year or so😂
Love all these, they are so great! A couple of weeks ago, I found 15 already made little houses that I've been trying to figure out what I should do with them. Now my head is spinning with ideas! Thank you!
thank you ladies. that was so fun
Wow, three beautiful quilts, I really can’t choose which one I like best. ❤
Oh my gosh Ladies!! I can usually pick a favorite, but this time, they're all just so great 🥰🥰 I've always loved Jenny's tiny houses anyway, so loved Natalie's. The way Misty did hers-I'm so going to do that!! And Jenny's project with all the extra projects-WINNER!!
❤❤❤ Love all of the quilts. Jenny, your quilt is beautiful and we love it. Triple play is our favorite to watch thank you for your tutorials you and your family or the best
I love them all, but Galway from Misty is my favorite. I grew up near Cape Cod and love the sailboats. Reminded me of home!
All great but i love Jenny's rendition of a house quilt!!
Absolutely love the house quilts and it's extra projects
These are so great - I LOVE Misty's Galway Bay, this is a great summer projet quilt. Thank you ladies :)

Wonky stars are so fun and interesting!
Winner winner 🥇 love all three patterns. The runner is fabulous ❤
I loved all 3 quilts. Each of you are talented. Your presentations very clear. Thank you so much.
Jenny’ s quilt houses are adorable
Absolutely love Galway Bay. I'm hoping to go to Ireland in two years and this really inspired me!
The wonky stars look like they are twinkling. ✨ Love it! Love all of them! The three of you are soooo creative! 😊
Totally does give that twinkling effect. Thanks for tuning in, sew happy to hear you enjoyed this Triple Play.

Seriously I had to pause the video and order immediately!!!! Can not wait to make Jenny’s quilt version! So so so fun. Also see this being done in a Christmas 🎄 scheme. ❤. Thank you ladies for so much inspiration 😍
I can not Pick a favourite this time, I love each of them, and the bonus projects.
I made a Tilda Henhouse quilt with that weird rectangular, offset sewing technique, for Tilda's dress, I can tell you that it almost have me stumped. I got there in the end. Thanks again for another great tutorial.
I love, love, love your Triple Play videos!! You ladies have such wonderful and different ideas, plus the bonus projects are just the icing on the cake! Thank you for what you do to keep us quilters inspired!
I love all three of these house quilts!! I’m going to start with Missy’s, as I live near a beach and loved those tall houses and sail boats!! But then on to those adorable mini houses! And I’d love to do Jenny’s with Christmas fabrics! Beautiful all three!! Thanks again for a great tutorial!
Thank you ladies, they’re all SO beautiful… Natalie wow, you should have yours on the next quilt show (MO), would love to see it…
Love them all, but I think this is my favorite triple play.
I’d say this triple play was a Grand Slam. Way to go. I love all the quilts.
We could not agree more. Sew happy to hear that you enjoyed watching this Triple Play as much as we enjoyed creating it. Happy Friday!!
Absolutely agree. Grand slam
You ladies have the cutest quilts for this month’s triple play. I love the theme of houses. The quilts are always so unique. Thank you for sharing!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE X’S 3!!! I usually have a favorite out of the triple play, but this month everyone is a HIT!!! I can’t wait to make a them all.❤❤❤
Jenny needs to use the gnome Christmas fabric to make a Christmas quilt. She needs to fussy cut the gnomes to fit in some of the doors.
Love all these ideas! Update: I made Misty’s quilt and love it!!
I absolutely adore all three of these quilts ladies!! You are all amazing! Thx so much for sharing your wonderful talents and 🙏 inspiration. Love you all. Big hugs and smooches 😘

All 3 quilts are so pretty. You’re all so talented. I wouldn’t know where to start to make my own. Thank you.
Love this triple play! Especially loving Misty's, I've got to try it in a wall hanging.
what great quilt ideas We all so love the triple play Friday to see what's coming up, just a idea i got watching Jenny's if you didn't make a star on top two or one corner made it solid black you could add a moon or half moon on one or both corners , I really loved the black background making it look like night time . Thanks again Girls enjoy your weekend !
