    Hopefully they are going to be more focused on grass roots type events for marketing. They are hurting themselves on the pricing as well, few people can afford a 75K Rubi XR

      it seems like post-covid, the pricing for any of the jeep products reflects an assumption that their customers all make over 200k/year and that anyone below that need not apply. Let's not even talk about the Luxo-jeep they have at somewhere between $115,000 and $125,000.

    Stallantis is having issues for sure… no Jeep events… only one Chrysler product and two Dodge vehicles. This is weird and scary all at the same time, not sure what there plan is but using “Jeep” to float Stallantisas a whole which were already seeing with higher prices is not what the people need…
    You guys on the other hand are absolutely killing it, keep up the incredible work!! 👍

      I think that alone would sink the entire company. We only keep track of how things affect us, but the European market is much more competitive and fierce than ours. European government restrictions on fuel economy and BEV mandates are much stricter and accelerated than our own. By comparison, it would be the difference between a butcher's knife and surgeon's scalpel. Both will cut, but you wouldn't do surgery with a butcher's knife. So is the same with vehicle design. Why design differently for one market when the rest of your markets needs are different? You want to get the most band for your buck. Sadly, the American wasteful (because I can) attitude does not play well on the world stage. As such, we will lose some of the things we have become accustomed to. On the bright side, it does leave space for another competitor or even new company to clean up the gap in products.

    Then betting big on 4xe when consumers are not in yet, this one not a Jeep only problem.

    I just visted 3 different Jeep Dealerships, one had 12 Wrangler 4xe, one has 34 Wrangler Exe and the one located in a small Country setting has 14 Wrangler 4xe. I spoke to one fairly new mechanic and in the back lot he said they have 6 Wrangler Exe that were towed that won't start. Waiting for a factory rep. With special equipment to locate the problem! I also spoke to a Generl manager concerning the 2024 eep Gladiator and was told the 2024 may or may not come out until mid or late 2024 as there are 1,000 of 2023 that have not been sold yet!!

    My local dealers have a ton of 4xe Wranglers which have been sitting on the lot for months, I went on 3 separate occasions to test drive them and each time the vehicle started into FORM and I was unable to get it out of FORM to test out the electric capability. My girlfriend wanted a new 2024 JL Rubicon X V6. All the local dealers had in stock were 4xe's plus they were adding $2k to $3k over sticker. So we ordered one over the phone from a dealer 3 counties South (3 hour drive) of us and saved over $10k when you consider the sales tax on the reduced price. I dislike that to get things like 35 inch tires with 4.56 axle the only way to get it was to order the X package. The 4xe fire/sudden stoppage issue made avoiding the 4xe an easy choice. If they ever decide to offer a 2 door Gladiator I'll buy one and sell my XJ.

I will NEVER buy another 4xe and when I ordered it the end of 2021 I was never told that the electronic mode would be useless once it gets below 32° which for me where I live is 5-6 months out of the year! Sure, would love to hear more content on the Jeep Wrangler 4xe.... I got one back in June 2023 the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4xe, the 20th Anniversary Edition.... so far, I love it! Local drives are usually gas "free" and long distance drive, I usually use "e-save" mode with charging the battery option selected (it actually does put more juice into the battery). I do this because I can use "electric" mode in local situations. I've averaged 27.8 MPG since inception and long distant driving about 19.6 MPG not too bad for a brick. Another plus is in "Hybrid" mode, it accelerates super quick...no issues merging into traffic on the highways. It was pricy as folks commented below.

    Yeah, Like someone else said, Stellantis, please sell Jeep, and Dodge. The euro-management (and I am being polite) don't know what U.S. customers want. The just want to ship battery go-carts with Ipad interface and call it good.

    Wandered into a few car shows many years ago that were happening nearby. Never made a trip to a car show. They just don't appeal to me. From my interest perspective, car shows for any brand or make are a waste. Online exposure influenced my recent, 4, Jeep purchase choices the most. Came very close to buying a Bronco, last year, but the dealer insisted on getting my SSN even though it was going to be a cash purchase. Bought my 2024 2-door Rubicon X, instead, no SSN nonsense. Why I prefer a gas-only Jeep Rubicon 2.0L over the Jeep Rubicon 2.0L 4XE plug-in hybrid.
    Electric and hyrid battery vehicles are heavy. The Jeep 4XE models are no exception.
    We often build up our Jeeps, lifts, wheels, tires, bumpers, wiches, etc. All things being equal, the electic hyrbid Jeeps will end up being that much heavier.
    Plus you have double the parts and complexity.
    • The extra weight is a detriment to off-roading, sand, mud, rocks, uphill, downhill, off-camber, etc.
    • The extra weight is a detriment to the suspension, ball-joints, etc.
    • The extra weight is a detriment to long road-trips once the short eclectic range has been used up.
    • The extra weight is a detriment to being recovered.
    • We still see Jeeps at events that are 10, 20, 30, 40 years old. I do not feel the added complexity, parts, and batteries are going last like our conventional Jeeps.

    My point of view says that Stellantis will be dropping the Chrysler brand completely. Dodge will become rebadged global products. The Gladiator is a niche product that does not have the sales to support it, so it will also be dropped. The rest of the Jeep line up will be pared down to be shared as a global platform with other Stellantis markets. They figure that Wrangler already has a cult following and does not require such an expensive ad campaign to support it's sales. They have spread themselves too thin and it's time to trim the fat. After all, they are in business to make money, not cars.

    Do you remember when Jeep showed the 2024 Wrangler at Moab with all the redesigned parts. TFL asked Jeep in Moab where’s the 2024 Gladiator? Jeep pointed to a lone Gladiator in High Octane that was a 23 and stated that’s a 24 model year. No updates. If you go to the Jeep website you can NOT do a 2024 build. I took the new model Gladiator high light class. It now has all Wrangler updates. My feeling is the Gladiator is going to be eventually dropped. It’s supposed to compete with other brands. You can buy the T brand for a whole lot less money.

    On a 6 year loan, the difference between 9% and 3 % APR is equals $10,000 in purchase price....or $10,000 in additional down payment. Depending on how you want to look at it.
    These prices are soooooo inflated and out of control. Jeep has way to much inventory and needs to slash prices or they will never move product. Unless there is 20% off MSRP no one should buy on.

    Great video as usual. After nearly 20 years, Jeep became (for me) like that girl that just took more and more work to love until one day you realize you're just working. So last year I bought a Bronco. Still keep up with your channel because a part of me hopes I'll get a Jeep again, but... Wish you guys would buy a Bronco and start a sister channel! 😁 On the 4Xe, I still think it's the future, but the future isn't here yet. As a former marketer, it is REALLY interesting to me that Jeep would abandon it's biggest opportunities to tout new revenue generation. Could be economic issues, budget issues, or maybe they don't feel like they've got the right stories to tell and/or the best answers to press questions right now. But if I was head of marketing, I'd want a clear answer to this from my product manager, because customers (dealerships) are going to want to know why so they can tell potential buyers.

    • @maddrummerhef
      @maddrummerhef 6 месяцев назад

      You don’t need to plan anything if you don’t want it just switches over to gas once the battery is depleted. You can run on e-save mode to save electric for the trail which is pretty nice if you want and With max regen and 4wh on we’ve actually had the battery regen enough while wheeling to get another full charge out of it and gone something like 45 miles on all electric

    I think they are getting all the 2023 Gladiators off the lots 1st before sending some 2024. I really feel Jeep didn't do anything special for the Gladiators in 2024 and its showing in there sales of that model. Don't get me wrong I love mine.

  • @alexkuehne3822
    @alexkuehne3822 6 месяцев назад +1

    Jeep management at the top is screwing up. They have 2023 gladiators 20%-30% off msrp right now on lots before they send out 2024 models. They are pricing themselves too high for the average buyer, especially when finance rates are 7%-8% with excellent credit. Hopefully stellantis decides soon to acknowledge their mistakes, make correction adjustments, and fix things accordingly. The other main issue is reliability and parts availability. The manual clutch issues are just now starting to get fixed and have been on recall for nearly a year. 4xe owners are told not to charge it and to keep it outside in case of fire. They need to provide a better prodict.

    I am not sure at all what the poster of this video was talking about - as of right now, Recall B9A has no solutions - it’s still listed that the recall as “Incomplete but no repair parts available”. The dealer reports that Stelantis/Mopar has yet to give them the software update that will check my Jeep to see if it does have the issue that is causing the battery issue. The current theory is that this software ‘might’ be available by March of 2024. So how anyone can say it doesn’t ‘apply’ to them anymore, just not sure what they are saying. There ‘is’ not over the air update that will ‘fix’ this. If you google mopar recalls and put your vin in, and it comes up with B9A, your vehicle is in fact still at risk. To date the Jeep app has NEVER flagged my 2021 Jeep 4xe Sahara as impacted by B9A, yet the Mopar site does show it - as well as my dealer confirmed that my vehicle is part of B9A. I am a bit taken back that the poster of this video didn’t simply check the Mopar and NHtA sites for updated information about B9A before propagating that I am thinking is simple misinformation as to the status of the battery recall on the 4xe’s.

  • @raymondsrealm5377

    Can we look at taking legal action against Jeep for recall B9A. It’s been months with no fix. This is a safety issue and they told us not to charge, I’m getting under 17mpg for a 4xe.

    I have a 2012 Rubicon with the 3.6. I wish it were the 2.0 turbo for better fuel milage, but with 79595 miles on it with no problems, I can't complain. And I beat this thing. But I have heard that the E version goes about 3-8 miles off road on battery. After that, you're carrying around an anker (battery). Just don't seem practical.

    I was similarly confused about the 4xe recall. We didn’t receive any notification. The oil change life popped on - surprisingly, because the engine seldom runs. The Jeep had been unwilling to go all electric about the same time.
    Not realizing that we were out of free oil changes, we scheduled a dealer oil change.
    Dealer said when dropped off that it needed a software update, which they performed. All electric was available again.
    Sooooo …
    If I hadn’t known that I would pay for the oil change, I would have changed it myself. How then, would I have known that it needed a software update? Would all electric mode have returned on its own? Did the software update have anything to do with the battery fires?
    I guess I’ll never know.

    • @BrianKalata
      @BrianKalata 6 месяцев назад

      I think they’re finding that even less jeeps are affected than they originally thought they were being overly. People keep talking about all the fires but it was eight jeeps total and I think the recall was a big thing. They’re pulling out of a lot of shows but so are most of the other US car manufacturers. At the LA show there was none of the German cars. Most of the American cars were gone. It was primarily Korean and Japanese cars at the auto show. There was almost nobody else there was no Experience so I don’t think this has anything to do with JEEP, particularly as it is with Carmen manufacturers realizing that the cost to benefit ratio of the auto shows may not be working in the current marketplace

    I bought a 2012 JK in 2014 with 19k miles and 1 owner. It now has 115k miles on it. I just bought a 2024 Grand Cherokee Overland for my wife. The technology and features of the new JL are great (I even like the grill), but the fact that a new JL Rubicon costs more than the Overland is crazy. The JK is a 12 year old vehicle and drives like it at times making it a tough daily driver. But the cost of a new JL (or JT - assuming they eventually make them) is out of reach. For roughly the same out of pocket money, I can trade in the JK for a new JL (and have one vehicle) OR keep the JK and get a Colorado ZR2 and have a truck (with lockers, suspension upgrades, etc) and still have the JK (that I’d have more freedom to mod since it’s no longer my primary vehicle).

    Question: I love the Jeep Rubicon, was thinking of getting one. With every month, now I'm leaning towards Toyota Tacoma. First, Jeep is way too expensive. All the reports on how much free play in the steering bothers me. I know several friends throughout the years have always complained about the how Jeeps steers. If this has always been a problem, why hasn't Jeep fixed this? Is there something in how the Wrangler is made that prevents Jeep from tightening the play and making it ride and steer better? Thank you & love your channel.

    • @barrytunzelmann6010
      @barrytunzelmann6010 6 месяцев назад

      Yes it is because of the way it is made. Called a solid front axle so steering sucks compared to IFS. Drawbacks with either system. IFS are technically 3WD because one wheel is always off the ground. But lets face it - 90% of your driving is probably on highway. I am thinking of the jump to Toyota next because of quality and that turbo 4.

    Who knows what will happen with Jeep, but IMO things might not be good for the future. Jeeps are not very fuel efficient and I don't think the 4xe has much going for it either.We all know the 392 is not going to last much longer if at all past 2024. This could be great for people who own 18-23 (24)?? models in the resale market in the next 5-10 years I hope. I know mine will be in the family for a long time, not going anywhere anytime soon.

  • @omarkhan1434
    @omarkhan1434 6 месяцев назад +1

    This may not be popular but has anyone looked at their tastes instead of the price of a Jeep. A base Sport starts at around 35k when a Honda Civic starts at 25k. When you want heated leather, big tires, lockers, premium audio, 50 inch flat screen tv, it is naturally going to jack up the price. Compare what came standard in a base Rubi 10 years ago, then spec a new one with the same options and then see if the price exceeds inflation. You’ll be surprised.
