Great content. I put 18 thousand miles on my 2022 392 and I have zero complaints. I recently traded it in for the 2024 392 with side impact air bags. Best jeep decision. The power seats are very comfortable. However, I decided to add the level-2 AEV edition package. The ride quality is a game changer. Bumps and lumps are no longer an issue. It's like driving an escalade. You may have to add steps for your family, however.
I’ve got a 2018 that has spent half of its 68k+ miles on 38” tires and have had 0 issues. Hard off-roading for 2-3 weeks at a time a few times a year and live in Vermont (snow, mountains, etc). Honestly I don’t think I’ve owned a more reliable vehicle at almost 40 years old.
I finally got the 392 Jeep and its the best Rubicon I've ever owned. If you want a Jeep that will beat a Camaro, Challenger or Mustang GT from light to light and take you off roading anywhere you want to go - look no further than the 392'. Great videos Ben...
I'll be at 2 years in May. It is my daily driver and I currently have 26,500 miles and mine has been completely trouble free. Just oil changes and tire rotations every 6,000 miles. I still love it.
My Rubicon has zero garbage in it. My husband's Rubicon has zero garbage in it. I was definitely put off by the OPs comments about his wife and wives in general.
Talk about reliability....my 13 Tacoma had 170 000 kms or 106 000 miles and only had one real repair...front wheel bearing and hub. I did change the rear springs. Towing a lot came into play. Your Jeep with 10 000 miles, that barely broken in. See how it is after 100 000 miles.
Reliability is all relatively speaking. My 2016 Wrangler JK with the 3.6 Pentastar and it has 100,000 miles. Not a single repair or issue as well. My 1999 Dodge Neon SE lasted to 200,000 miles until one freeze plug start leaking and I want a new car anyways while everyone has a Dodge Neon back then.
Lol the opposite is the case for me. I’m the Wife and my 2021 JLUR XR 392 is immaculate AND its my daily! My husbands Grand Cherokee is a rolling dumpster 😂. We could NEVER share a vehicle. Mine has a little over 38,000mi now, and the only issue I had was due the notorious Pedal Commander failure(which I trashed).
I had the 5.7 in my Challenger and a 392, put a lot of miles and never had any issues other than a minor electrical issues. I had a 6 cylinder Wrangler from the 1990s and put over 200,000 mi on it, I would love to get a Wrangler with a 392.
Wait till the hinges and panels start the galvanic corrosion! Great video as always ❤ its amazing they can’t fix the corrosion issues after all these years
My 22 Rubicon JLU has had fewer issues than most of my new cars in the past. Manual transmission was lightly grinding going into second so I changed the fluid with full synthetic and made sure it was topped off... that resolved that. Otherwise no complaints... as long as you don't mind the bumpy ride and less refined nature of the vehicle... it's the worlds best convertible and most capable 4X4.
Great video! How about a long term review. 2013 Wrangler Sport S 2DR Auto: bought used at 20k miles, Jan 2015, 2nd owner, now it has 155k miles. ZERO issues , knock on wood.... My wife drives it every day to work (50 miles a day). It has BFG KM2s and rides like a Jeep is supposed to, a buggy. Oh yeah way to stay classy Ben with the LC purchase. Digging the old LC.
A reliability review at only 10k seems a little low, granted if you got a lemon it would have been in the shop a lot but 5k miles a year the last two years seems early for a reliability review.
A lot of brand new vehicles have problems big and small. Vehicle reviewers test drive and review vehicles they have for just one day. Nobody has a problem with that. Nothing wrong with a two year review on a daily driven vehicle, even at low miles.
I only have 1900 miles on my 392 but on the few 150 mile plus trips we’ve taken. No issues with it being too loud. Drives soo much better than all my other Jeeps, and any other JL’s I’ve driven(4xE, Rubicon 3.6, sport 3.6) we have the 3 JK’s. My only complaint is the drivers seat comfort is not as good as the JK, OR the cloth of the other JL’S. With the exhaust closed , driving under 70mph which is very tough I know. It’ll do 18mpg.
My ocd would not allow me to drive that thing in such a disgusting condition. My wife is an absolute pig in our car and many disputes ensue because of it. Love that exhaust note
Not proud owner of a 2022 wrangler. Constant electrical problems and now the transmission is slipping at approx 30k miles. No off roading, well maintained, driven easy. Unacceptable. Jeep = Chrysler = Stellantis = Crap.
Yes, the 392 is fun to drive. I have never driven one but I had a '68 Roadrunner with the 383 HP engine. It was fun. It had power. It was fast. And it sounded really great when the 4 barrel carburetor kicked in (You may not even know what that is). But it was cheap back then. Today, I have a 2021 JLU Sport with the EcoDiesel engine. I love it. It has 53,000 miles on it and have had no issues. It can't do what a 392 can do but the fuel economy is way better. I average 22 over the course of a year with city, off road, and highway driving. While drive 40 mph on a level road like you were doing, I would be showing 30 mpg not 16. Also, it has plenty of torque and can crawl off road with the best. I don't have lockers but for most people they aren't necessary. The best part is my total cost of purchase was $42,000 plus taxes. I added a 2 1/2 inch lift and 33 inch tires. I am in it for less than $50,000. Yours is way cooler and sounds way better but for the price I will take the EcoDiesel.
I've got 2018 2.2 diesel European version. The main issue was computer. It was not sealed property from the factory and Jeep just stopped. I was lucky because my friend is a mechanic, so he disassembled and resealed it. Otherwise it would set me back at least 4K for the new one. Another issue was a screw in a wire (factory fault) to subwoofer, so occasionally it was like a short circuit, had to change. Do get mudflaps, otherwise the front door handles, especially on a passenger side will refuse to open and close.
Great video Ben! I have a 2019 Unlimited Rubicon with the V/6, been a great vehicle so far after bypassing the auxiliary battery, which I had a lot of issues with. The feature I love most is the Sky Touch Roof!
Bought my wife a 2021 Willys with the 3.6L V6 and it’s still running strong with no issues. I went from 31s to 33s and it fixed the slack in steering. Definitely worth every penny.
Bought the2023 2Oth anniversary rubicon issue 392. Love it . I now have 6600 miles on it. I get average 16.5 mpg. The anniversay issue was bilt 3rd Quarter 2023. It has the 2024 grille which I like special red and black leather interior , skytop 1 touch, recon package, on board compressor 2.5 inch lift. 35s, Step rock rail . 180 piece tool kit . Really love it all around. Sounds awesome. Special 20th anniversary graphics, Not issues so far…
This guy cracks me up. 10 k miles that his wife drove as a daily driver. He is giving the review. At 5k a year and his wife using it as a daily driver I have to wonder how much seat time he has. I have a 2.0 turbo and i'm in an off road club. I have gone out with people who have a 392 they used 2 times as much gas as me on the trail. I'm at 3/4 tank they are at 1/2. I'm at 1/2 a tank they need to stop and get gas. Not really a big deal range was ok. we all fill up before hitting the trail. We do the trails then they go fill up again. Thing is using 2 times more gas is not about the same amount of gas. I was really looking at them. After hitting the trails with them i'm worried about the longer trails where I get down to 1/4 tank of gas. Range means a lot and don't want to have to carry 10 gals more fuel with me.
Same situation. My wife leaves fast food bags, old drinks in the cup holders, and trash on the floor. YET, she’s super picky about the house! 🤦🏻♂️ I don’t get it. lol You’d think a confined space, tidiness would be even more of a priority.
My dream jeep wrangler, ive owned pretty much every jeep model there is including two JT's and so far my second JT os running strong with 17,000 miles lifted on 37's but my previous Gladiator i experienced a ton issues and ended up trading it in but now back in another one. Wish your 392 had my milage to get a real take on reliability but stoked you're still enjoying it.
Just traded in a 2020 Oscar Mike 2.0L with 96K on it. Outside of LOF, rotation, and front axle seals, it was without issue mechanically. Traded it in for 2024 Willy’s to get away from significant corrosion, that was taking way too long for them to repair. If you want to do some interesting content, I’d like to know more about the background on this corrosion issue that seems to be becoming more and more prominent of an issue for 2018-22 models. Keep up the solid content.👊
Love my 23 392 XR. Like Ben, I don't think I'll ever sell it. No real problems yet. Something is rattling in my back area and some of the trim around my SOT appears to be pulling up some. I'll get them addressed next time I go in. Other than that I am at 11k miles so far.
24 6.4 wrangler... only complaint is MDS...4 cylinder mode....its terrible....but 6.4 on wrangler is quirky and raw. If you want smooth rounded suv get x5 or gle.
i’ve got a 2018 that has spent half of its 68k+ miles on 38” tires and have had 0 issues. Hard off-roading for 2-3 weeks at a time a few times a year and live in Vermont (snow, mountains, etc). Honestly I don’t think I’ve owned a more reliable vehicle at almost 40 years old.
10000 miles is still virtually brand new, soo it’s probably a little early to be judging reliability. But it looks to be a good daily , maybe just tad loud in the exhaust department for some tastes , sounds good though. Not a lot head room in there it seems , just an observation, the steering not being pin sharp …. I like it , a lot of modern cars are so pin sharp, if you move the wheel even a hair your heading off the road , which means you have to be on the ball and driving the bastards all the time which becomes fatiguing after a while. The power steer getting hot when your working the shit out of it in 4wd conditions is probably not unexpected, and the bigger tyres add extra load to the power steering so , there is that. It looks pretty good mate . A lot of new cars are no more than mobile phones on wheels ( white goods) , especially some shit box EVs . I like your old school style jeep mate.
I just had to get rid of my 2024 4Runner Limited because of the similar gas mileage to this Jeep. I drive 44 miles each way to work 5 days a week and I was putting in around $150 per week in gas!!
My 2012 Rubicon 2 dr 6 speed. @18K had that check engine light for the head machining issue that they were aware of so fixed and got the extended 10 yr complimentary warranty. But the dealership that fixed it in LA created a coolant leak AND introduced a really annoying buzzing rattle in the dash that has been there ever since. They of course denied anything, but seeing they caused a coolant leak... Fast forward, needed a new thermostat at about 70K miles. Needed a new starter motor at about $80K miles. Needed a new clutch at about 85K miles - the shop said the plates were fine and could have gone another 50k miles but the throw out bearing had failed. Oh yeah, the radio failed at about 80K miles too - see a pattern here? Stuff designed to only fail outside warranty... so no AM/FM but the satellite radio still works. To replace the radio you would need to take the whole dash apart and I don't trust someone to do that w/o breaking something else so I just let it be, and listen to satellite radio. Absolutely love my Jeep, lots of adventures and memories and looking forward to plenty more.
Thank you for the video. I'm possibly in the market for a used one. I drive 22 miles back and forth to work and will be traveling from NC to Indianapolis. Just trying to get some info before committing to purchasing.
Bro, where's the makeup and comb 😂😂.. 🤦🏾♂️😖😩😢 my expressions everytime my wife gets in my truck, from me seeing her ziplock bag full of snacks until the post cleanup
My wife's vehicle's were always immaculate inside and out. She couldn't stand a dirty vehicle and neither can I. With the insane pricing of cars and trucks now, it pays to take care of them. You need to have a talk with the Chief about her nasty habits! Take charge my boy, take charge!
2019 JLU 2.0 Turbo that has always averaged between 19-21 mpg, and that's with a 3" lift, 37" KM3 and KO2 (summer crawling vs. winter roads) 4.88 gears and Rhino Pioneer platform on the roof. Have to take issue with the "392 vs. 2.0 Turbo about the same fuel efficiency." After 50k miles on and off road at Colorado altitudes (7k-10k) my brother's 392 uses slightly less than twice what our 2.0 turbo uses, and he's burning premium. Turbo is lighter and more nimble in the rocks, and his extra weight and torque just means he's more likely to break something sooner.
I'd kill for $100/month insurance. I have a flawless driving record (no tickets or accidents) and I'm 44 yet pay like $160-ish per month for full coverage and a $1k deductible on my 2022 Gladiator Mojave. I had to remove uninsured motorist coverage to get that even. Was well over $200/month with it. 😕 Gotta lover Denver, CO area.
boy I wish I could afford a shiny Jeep. I'm looking at an older TJ right now, I could not imagine myself on the trails in a 100k vehicle NOPE, I love to offroad, and it's fun when you care way less about scratches. My OCD is to strong hahahah
My wife is the cleanest person ive ever met. Youll never find anything out of place in our home or cars. Dirty doesn't seem to bother you sound like a good couple. Everyone is happy.
The disappointing truth is that it is too reliable to have anything interesting to say about it. Ha ha. The 392 engine sounds great in your video, but I would like to know if it would be tiresome in daily use. In my country, the only option for the Wrangler is a 2.0-litre turbo, which seems an odd decision for Jeep to make. Thanks for the fascinating review.
Hey ben, Great video! thank s for sharing your experience. I would like to ask weather I should go for the 35 inch 2024 392 or 392 33 inch 2023 for 16K less! (all new cars). what would be your advice? and if you can mention some major different other than the glass and the look (anything mechanical)?
I'm not sure about that better fuel economy than a 3.6 or 2.0T The talk about Jeep not being reliable, is more dealership service are not reliable, not the actual vehicle.
I always wanted to see what all the fuss was about. I've owned pickups my whole life. For my latest vehicle I decided to buy a wrangler unlimited. So disappointed. It's a v6 but it's so underpowered in my opinion. I've had it for about 1 1/2 years. I bought it used and now has 55000 on it. No complaints as far as reliable just overall ride quality. Not comfortable at all. Can't wait to get rid of it. Cheap material inside considering they aren't cheap.
Stars: 0 Reason: I was driving down the highway and then my wrangler broke down, I got to the repair shop and they said they could do it for 90,000 i said no and they reduced the price to 50,000 CD (Canadian Dollars). This experience kept happening.
its a jeep thing isnt a complement......its a glorified lego for people under 35, tons of wind noise, they wonder all over the road, loud, the tops leak always after a while, they get horrible mpg when you mod them. I will never daily a wrangler type ever again.
I’ve seen a lot of comments from trolls who love to be keyboard warriors and bash Stellantis products. Like all makers (with a couple of exceptions), they’re much like the rest. If you leave it stock and don’t abuse it, then your reliability will remain high. Toyotas can break, Jeeps can break, RAM trucks will break too because material is material - there’s nothing magical about it.
😂 I’m the trash exploding one in my family. Just a note. If you bought a Wrangler with a Rubicon with the 392 ci engine, that is not “stock”. You have a beefed up Rig.
"It will turn into a trash explosion" FACTS! My truck...spotless...her car...."Trash explosion". Then I get the "Well you clean yours why don't you clean mine". Because mine is easy to clean because it's always spotless and yours...well...trash explosion lol

Well Ben our 2022 base Wrangler Sport has had no issues going on 13000 miles. Maybe sometime less is more. 😎
I love your videos and have been watching for a while but I wish you did a full throttle section in your video
The best marriage definition ever. Thank you, here is a loyal soldier of your channel. Props to the "more chunk on your trunk" too.
My wife's vehicle's were always immaculate inside and out. She couldn't stand a dirty vehicle and neither can I. With the insane pricing of cars and trucks now, it pays to take care of them. You need to have a talk with the Chief about her nasty habits! Take charge my boy, take charge!
The paint bubbling is your biggest risk. I have a 22 Rubicon XR with the AEV 2.5 and 37s, it drives great.
The loose steering is an easy fix, look it up ;)
10000 miles in 2 years? Where do you daily drive this? Across the street?
Jeeps always been reliable, nor borning just because it doesn't break down
lol… Jeep hasn’t been reliable in 20 years
very disappointed with my 2024 4xe.....it has been in fuel oil refresh mode almost the whole time i've had it.
It’s a Jeep, and an hybrid FCA product. Just be glad it doesn’t encounter an “error” and shut off at highway speeds like many have
get a shop vac and vacuum out those rocks stuck in your fenders. FYI the paint on my 2012 Rubicon still looks fantastic. Cosmo Blue.
If you don't take the top off.. don't get a wrangler. They would have done better buying a nice Toyota 4 Runner
I take a plastic credit card to flick the rocks out of the fenders without scratching them
We have two rubicon’s and yes ones the snack trash shack and of course I’m in charge of washing and cleaning it.😊
I'd kill for $100/month insurance.
When one of our sons was a teenager the inside of his car looked like that but worse.
Ben your jeep looks good
love your jeep ! Thats my dream car
boy I wish I could afford a shiny Jeep.
Yep lower insurance is one of the things I like
Daily driver with 10K is BS man!
Please tell us more about your off-road experiences, my ‘21 JL has been perfectly reliable. And I take it off-road regularly
I’m a wife, and my Jeep Gladiator is spotless! Just sayin!
Great vid. Would have been funny if you started off by opening the hood and talked about the engine, as you do with your vehicle reviews. :
Did you really use the phrase "Junk in the trunk?!"😂😂
I caught that one too LOL
Hey ben, Great video! thank s for sharing your experience.
I would like to ask weather I should go for the 35 inch 2024 392 or 392 33 inch 2023 for 16K less! (all new cars). what would be your advice? and if you can mention some major different other than the glass and the look (anything mechanical)?
I have a 2022 in black 392😊. Love it.
Have a 2018 JL Sahara...infotainment screen warped under warranty...otherwise, no issues.
Get a “TJ” under 150k miles won’t be disappointed. Reliable and Fun
2 years of ownership as a "daily" and you have only put 10K miles on it? that's not a daily, that's a monthly. wtf lol
Jeep. As aerodynamic as a brick! LMAO Reminds me of the joke: "Do you know what the A in Volvo stands for? Aerodynamic!"
I know this video about the jeep, but I’m looking at the kona in the back👀😂
I missed out on a 392 20th Anniv. and it was discounted😭 I was going back to trade my 23 Rubicon for it and someone beat me to it!
Just use some compressed air to remove those pebbles stuck in the fender seams.
lol literally. Anytime I get in the car after my wife I need to bring a trash bag and clear it out
I'm not sure about that better fuel economy than a 3.6 or 2.0T
The talk about Jeep not being reliable, is more dealership service are not reliable, not the actual vehicle.
I have a 22 extreme recon with the v6, in sarge green, with the same exact miles
Haha that's how my wife's daily driver Suburban looks all the time, and it drives me crazy! But we have 4 small kids, so what can you do
Love my 392 at 18k miles of abuse Offroad and it’s held up awesome. Also didn’t know you were only 26! Im 27 gen z represent 😂😂
lol my wife’s car is same situation but worse - 2 boys 4.5 & 8.5 & 2 dobies that ride often too enhancing the mess lol
JL & JT ‘s power steering boxes are way under sized and powered.. but other than that 👍
I always wanted to see what all the fuss was about.
90,000 dollars? That's a whole brand new Wrangler. Are you sure you heard right? I can't imagine what repair it would cost more than a brand new jeep.
Insurance is expensive...1800 per year on a 2 door 2022 through progressive!
The wrangler is one of the few vehicles that has a lot of cons but we’ll still keep driving them. They’re just too much fun.
That color is so badass
its a jeep thing isnt a complement......its a glorified lego for people under 35, tons of wind noise, they wonder all over the road, loud, the tops leak always after a while, they get horrible mpg when you mod them. I will never daily a wrangler type ever again.
True enough statement. Jeep should probably stop marketing them to the general public. They were never meant to daily drive.
Not to mention the awfully cringe row of rubber ducks. It’s so embarrassing.
@@KnightFelI was so happy to sell mine from all the waving got so annoying 😂 & lesbos love them
I’ve seen a lot of comments from trolls who love to be keyboard warriors and bash Stellantis products. Like all makers (with a couple of exceptions), they’re much like the rest. If you leave it stock and don’t abuse it, then your reliability will remain high. Toyotas can break, Jeeps can break, RAM trucks will break too because material is material - there’s nothing magical about it.
Oh grasshopper, you will learn
Ben! You still have shipping plastic by your Freedom Panels… 10 thousand miles later! 😂
Naaa bro you caught me off guard when you said you was 26 i thought you was in your 30s
😂 I’m the trash exploding one in my family. Just a note. If you bought a Wrangler with a Rubicon with the 392 ci engine, that is not “stock”. You have a beefed up Rig.
stock means from the factory. beefed up or not, it is stock.
"It will turn into a trash explosion" FACTS! My truck...spotless...her car...."Trash explosion". Then I get the "Well you clean yours why don't you clean mine". Because mine is easy to clean because it's always spotless and yours...well...trash explosion lol
I'm a wife, and my vehicle is never a trash can. You have to appreciate and take care of your vehicles, not dog them.
