I’m 82 years old & have been listening to these guys forever. It’s criminal they aren’t in Rock n Roll Hall Fame. They have lots of good songs. A good rabbit hole to go down.s
Could not agree with you more
Sreppenwolf isn’t in the rock and roll hall of fame but Dolly is ….. SOOOOO….. What do you expect?
Good bands don't need that museum that is based on MONEY 🤘😵🤘
I agree. It seems cold, cold, cold.
Waiting for Columbus. Mug Said
Little Feat has a huge catalog. One of the best live bands ever.
👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👏
FEATS DON'T FAIL ME NOW! They also put on one of the best concerts in the business! I discovered them in the 80's. The owner of the CD store where I worked introduced me to them. He took me to a show, it was phenomenal, and I was sold!
“Waiting For Columbus” is one of the greatest live albums.
Amen!
THE greatest imo. It's better than their studio work.
I still have my vinyl, cassettes and extended cd copies of the greatest live recordings
I put out the $55.00 for the 8 CD box set of "Waiting For Columbus", and it was worth it... You get the re-mastered album, plus an additional 6 CD's of The Feat on the road between 1976-1978 with very few repetes [ Spanish Moon is only in the set twice ]...
Absolutely
Guys! This is a VERY abbreviated version of the song. Missing at least 2 verses! Check out the studio version
Better yet,the version from "Waiting for Columbus".
So short it was painful.
Best version of this song is on eat a peach
I got that wrong, I meant waiting for Columbus. Sorry!
Yes it is......please play the full version Jay and Amber.... you'll so enjoy this song and the band even more!!! This was a VERY short version of this song. 😢
This has always been my favorite Little Feat song and this is the BEST rendition. ❤❤❤
Thanx so much for playing Little Feat!!! A fabulous band headed by one and only Lowell George. This is a very deep musical rabbit hole to explore.
Little Feat could jam. Their live album, "Waiting for Columbus" is too good.
Jay and Amber, Little Feat is definitely a rabbit hole you need to explore. Fat Man in the Bathtub, Willin’, Spanish Moon, Rock and Roll Doctor, Sailing Shoes, Old Folks Boogie just to name a few.
LOVE LITTLE FEAT!!! So glad you are listening.
Little Feat is from California, but as a native southerner and southern rocker from way back, I call them an honorary southern rock band. They and Creedence Clearwater Revival are the most southern non-southern bands I know. I don't know where all that swamp water and bacon grease in their sound came from all the way out in California, but it's there and it's real.
Yep. I remember years ago when I discovered they were not from Louisiana or somewhere south thinking there must be a mistake ha ha .
Little Feat is the headliner to this year's New York State Blues Festival this year! I saw them live about 10 years ago as well and they are amazing!!
Little Feat remains one of the most underrated bands you'll ever hear. Great choice!
Little Feat's "Oh Atlanta" was a standard for years on Atlanta's 96 Rock FM station.
WKLS 96.1
Psychedelic Psaturday!
One of my SCCA buddies' Porsche race cars was sponsored by them back then. Didn't Kaedy Kiley get her first 'breakout' of her career over there?
@@panamafloyd1469 IDK if that was her first gig but she was on 96 rock forever.
@@NathanThurberMusic , yeah! IIRC, in the afternoons in the late '80s. Another SCCA buddy of mine gave me a job in his independent SAAB repair shop for a bit, 96 Rock was the only station allowed on the radio there. 😄
Yes!!! Little Feat!
This is an abbreviated version for TV. You need to hear the live concert version from the “Waiting For Columbus” (1977) live double album. It’s EPIC!
Fact!
Love little feat!
"Willin/" is a classic song from the late Lowell George, the lead singer. Not as rocking as this one, but an unforgettable song.
His pal Linda Ronstadt killed "Willin". Absolutely one of her best recording on her breakthrough LP "Heart Like a Wheel"
@@morningcoffeebreak7367 Linda absolutely did "own" that song and made it her own!
My fave. And I also love Linda Ronstadt's cover.
Lowell & Gram Parsons were two brilliant musicians.
Jay and Amber ain't ready for a beautiful ballad about a Drunk Truck Driver on Speed Smokin Doobie's and Burning Up the Highway 😮
🚚🗣💨💨🚓🚓🚓
Thanks Jay and Amber, great band ! One of kind, Americana at its best !
Love love love Little Feat!!! Definitely please do more!!
Little Feat, so good!!! 🙂🎸🎸
Happy Mother's Day Amber❣️
Now you’re getting into some real classic rock ‘n roll!
A great tune and band.
One of the most underrated bands of all time. They were brilliant and definitely worth exploring deeper into their stuff.
One of my favorite bands. So many great songs!
Willin'
One Clear Moment
Long Distance Love
Texas Twister
Etc.
Please play more!
Keep going with Feat! One of the most fun, funky bands ever.
Little Feat is such an amazing band. Check out a live version of "Willin'" next. You'll love it.
Little Feat/Lowell George brings the Southern Funk, y’all!!!
Spanish Moon live off of the Waiting for Columbus album is amazing. One of the funkiest songs ever!
Little Feat is awesome!!! Skin it Back is one of my favorites. Little Feat was huge in the DC/Baltimore area back in the 70's. A very good friend of mine was at Lowell George's last show at the Lisner. You will not regret digging deep on this band.
That "CHICKEN PICKIN' is a great sound.
Long Distance Love. One of the greatest ballads ever written.
Jay just go ahead and download their live album called Waiting For Columbus. Put it on and get comfy in your hammock , sit back and enjoy one of the best live albums ever recorded. You will dig the entire album.
Happy Mother’s Day! And what better way to celebrate than by discovering Little Feat. ✌️❤️🎶
Little Feat is from Los Angeles. Their biggest fan base was in the Washington, D.C. - Baltimore area. They were mind blowing in concert. Check out their live album, Waiting For Columbus.
What a great fun-time band!! Saw them twice. Lowell George was a great loss. You'd also like "New Delhi Freight Train" and "Old Folks Boogie" by Little Feat. Thank you, thank you for more Bonnie!!
Yes to those two songs.
I've seen them twice, on each end of their career arc. The 1st was in the gym at Grinnell College, the 2nd was @3 years ago. Even w/out Lowell, Paul & Richie, they slapped just as hard as when we were all young!
Love Little Feat. Saw them live and they were amazing!
Little Feat are one of the best bands ever and they are still together and playing. I got to see the original band that's in this video back in the day. Sadly Lowell George the singer and guitarist in this video died early on great musician. Little Feat was a L.A. band, a couple of them were members of Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention. Bass and conga player from Delaney and Bonnie, other were part of many L.A. bands. Lots of Funky music came out of L.A. band in the day.
These guys were favorites in Maryland, a border state but not deep south - everything they do is juicy, funky and fun. The Feat are still kickin'!
Thanks for exploring Little Feat! They never chased big pop music commercial success, but they earned tremendous respect from other musicians. Their influence lives on.
The singer/slide player is the great Lowell George. Great reaction guys! ☮💜🎶
Little Feat was the band that played behind Travis Tritt on the song Bible Belt, a rockin County song I think you'd like.
This is some of my very favourite music! Permanent “play-list”
Peace
HAPPY
MOTHER’S
DAY
AMBER!💕🩷
Little are one of the greatest live bands ever. The lead singer, Lowell George RIP was a great performer and writer!
FINALLY! Been waiting forever for you to do Little Feat! I've seen them many times in concert and it's always great. They're a real jam band. Try "Fat man in the bathtub" from them next.
The smile when she got it, priceless!
82, what a blessing
Thanks for getting around to Little Feat. Let It Roll is a great song to react to
Little Feat! YES! Many great songs appreciated by too few.
Check out Little Feat's album "Waiting for Columbus!"
ROCK N ROLL DOCTOR. Feat is my favorite band. Hugh catalog. Best live. SPANISH MOON. They were/are an LA band but do Cajun like nobody. Please, lots more LITTLE FEAT. 😊
Such an underrated song. So good!!
Yeah! I told you guys a couple years ago to check out Little Feat. Glad you finally got around to them.
Married 40 years. Willin' is "our" song. Love Little Feat
Lowell George learned to play slide after injuring his hand putzing around with a model airplane. He used a spark plug socket for his slide 'cause he knew, if he lost it, he could find one in anywhere.
RIP Lowell, Paul, and Ritchie. Thank You!
I grew up in North Georgia and heard this band on the Atlanta rock station, 96 Rock. They mainly played "Oh Atlanta" and "Dixie Chicken". I was formally introduced to them by my step-dad, who used to play their live album, "Waiting For Columbus". Have loved them every since. My recommendations? The live versions of "Fat Man In A Bathtub" and "All That You Dream".
That was a fun performance!
one of the most underrated bands of all time
LITTLE FEAT! LITTLE FEAT! LITTLE FEAT! I miss Lowell George like I miss being 16yrs old. Gotta send another vote for "Oh, Atlanta!" since I live here (grew up in the rural South, I'd been 'watching those planes' since I was a kid). Let's see..what else. "All That You Dream", "Fat Man in The Bathtub", "Sailin' Shoes" , and "Time Loves a Hero". After those, you'll figure out where else to go in the discography. Y'all have great musical instincts.
More Feat! Old Folks Boogie, Two Trains, Fat Man in the Bathtub are but a few of the classics. But there’s southern fun and rockers throughout their expansive catalog. A personal favorite of mine is “Boom Box Car”-a song I can imagine that little band from Texas doing. Feats Don’t Fail Me Now!
As a Southerner (GA), Little Feat are absolutely loved here. Not anywhere near my fave bands, BUT!!!… they are part of a solid diet of great music!
I've been after you guys for years to get after this band and now you've done it. Believe me, this is just the tip of an enormous iceberg of great music.
Their double live album "Waiting For Columbus" is a monument to the genre and one of the best live albums anyone has ever made.
Great choice!!
One of the best bands ever! First time I saw them back in ‘74, they opened for J. Geils and blew everyone away, the entire stadium was rockin’. Seen them many times since, they’re still touring.
Little Feat was an LA band. The version of this song on thier live album Waiting for Columbus is absolutely FIRE
73 year old: One of my favorite songs from one of my favorite bands. Check out "Medley: Cold, Cold, Cold/Tripe Face Boogie" from Feats Don't Fail Me Now album and get ready to rock.
Little Feat's "Spanish Moon" is your logical next step.
Absolutely 👏
But there was Whiskey and bad Cocaine!
The rob squad thinks Dixie Chicken is NOLA sound, wait till they hear Spanish Moon
Good recommendation, also!
Spanish Moon live from the Waiting For Columbus" album is the next logical step followed closely by the live "Fat Man In The Bathtub" and then my own autobiographical tune "Old Folks Boogie"
Little Feat was mostly from California. The lead singer and chief songwriter was Lowell George. He died in 1979. They are criminally under appreciated. There are so many great songs of theirs to check out. Rock & Roll Doctor, Two Trains, Oh Atlanta,Spanish Moon, Easy To Slip, Willin', Sailin' Shoes, Cold Cold Cold/Tripe Face Boogie and many more. Their live album, Waiting For Columbus, is generally considered one of the top five live albums of all time.
Lowell George brought a swing to rock and roll. He tapped into so many genres but made them his own. We lost him way too soon. As I have said before, I am grateful I grew up when we were experimenting with music and the instruments of experimentation were the people's voices and instruments and rudimentary recording tools.
This band is simply terrific. I just love their music. Try "Willin'", or "Feets Don't Fail Me Now".😮❤💙💙💙
Little Feat were formed in Los Angeles, California in 1969 by lead vocalist & guitarist Lowell George. They are Southern Californians.
This live version is on fire and with Emmy Lou and Bonnie Rait it's even better. Amber, I see you caught the lyric that the entire bar knew that song!
This is so great to see Emmylou having fun and grinning. She's not usually this loose during her own concerts.
LOVES me some LITTLE FEAT!!! :) Little Feat was from LA, CA!!! :)
You must, MUST listen to Linda Ronstandt’s version of Little Feat’s “Willin”!!!
It is fabulous!!
And her version of Roll um Easy is STELLAR
At long last you have discovered Little Feat…..what a great band!!!!! Lowell George was a genius, and the whole band Bill Payne, Paul Barrere, Ken Gradney, Richie Hayward….all backed by the tower of power horns and ‘guest’ backing singers like Bonnie, Emmylous (and also Linda Ronstadt!!)….were the best live band EVER!! Saw them in the UK on the Warner Bros tour…they blasted the Doobie Bros of the stage and the crowd went wild for them. Been a big fan ever since and you have just got to explore their back catalogue from their first album onwards. Waiting For Columbus must be one of the best live albums ever made…enjoy the journey both of you…I still enjoy it am over 50 years after discovering them for the first time!!!
Ooh a young Emmy Lou Harris and Bonnie rait 😍
So many Little Feat great songs..."Willin"
PLEASE do more.Little Feat!
They are such an amazing band!
Willin'
Fat Man in a Bathtub
Oh Atlanta
Down on the Farm
Let it Roll
By far one of my favourite bands to this day. Plenty of great songs from them but seriously, check out Spanish Moon (live version).
Little Feat opened for Living Colour one spring weekend at my college. No one had heard of them and I couldn’t get anyone to go with me before Living Colour was scheduled.
I got there and there were just a couple hundred people at this outdoor venue, and they started playing Spanish Moon, a really long extended intro. After about five minutes people just started trickling in, then pouring in. By the time they started singing the song, the crowd was going nuts.
Spanish Moon live from Waiting For Columbus. You’ll love it!
I love me some Little Feat. One of the most under rated bands of all time.
Didn't know this song until a band that played a bar I worked at in early 80s....I LOVED it!
Their "Let it Roll" that they put out when the band reformed after Lowell George passed away is a great road song, especially when you're "rollin' down highway 95!"
Little Feat are my go to!
Little Feat's been my favorite band for 50 years! Waiting for the Columbus is the live album ever (and I was at that concert). And their latest album, Sam's Place, is all blues featuring Sam Clayton, the percussionist.
Spanish Moon, Skin It Back, Mercenary Territory, Don't Bogart that joint my friend... It's also a song! I Love Little Feat !! Thx
Mercenary Territory is one of my favourite Little Feat tunes. In fact a few other songs from TLRA are favourites too, Romance Dance, Somebody's Leavin' and All That You Dream are fantastic too.
Lowell George had one of the best voices ever. A perfect mixture of soul & country. His slide guitar was incredible. He died young but he will never be forgotten. Try "Long Distance Love" & "All That You Dream" by them.
So glad you finally stumbled upon Little Feat! Their double live album Waiting For Columbus may be in the top concert albums of all time, featuring the Tower Of Power Horns and incredible musicianship and swampy grooves.
Midnight Special.....ohhhhh how i loved that show ....it will always be my favorite music show. I remember seeing sooooo many great artists in their youth and so many of them are now music legends in an elite class all of their own. 🎶❤️🎶
One if the greatest American bands
Saw them when it was still Lowell George with them , at Parkhead stadium , Glasgow June 1976 ( the Who Put The Boot In Tour ). Same day had The Sensational Alex Harvey Band, with The Who closing the show.
it didnt hurt they had el&bonnie much luv thnx!!!
I have very rarely been to outdoor concerts with my older relatives, yet this is a double-header.
In the summer of 1980, my dad was taking me on college visits and decided we should stop off at Tanglewood (in the Berkshires) and take in one of their famous classical concerts. Get me to listen to "real" music instead of that "rock" garbage.
Alas for Dad, Tanglewood also hosted the occasional rock show, going back to the classic shows by The Who and Chicago in 1970. So we found ourself on the lawn, listening to Bonnie Raitt, with the unmistakable scent of marijuana all around us. (Dad survived, though.)
9 years later, I was summering with my grandmom in Philadelphia, and I dragged her to a double-bill outdoors in Fairmount Park (the same venue where I would see one of Aretha Franklin's final shows, in 2017). A mostly-unknown Melissa Etheridge opened up for Little Feat. Alas, Lowell George had passed away by then and David from Pure Prairie League was out front instead, but they still rocked. (Grandmom had a great time, even without the Tanglewood "aroma" to enhance things.)
My favorite version of this song is off a live Little Feat album called Waiting for Columbus. LOVE IT!
Such a good band! Good choice for your Little Feat review.
So excited for this one!
My husband and I saw all of these people in concerts. When my 47 year old daughter began to crawl, I was listening to this song. She pulled herself up on the coffee table and was rocking out. Precious memory for Mother's Day. I think she remembered me dancing to this song before she was born. HAPPY MOTHER"S DAY TO ALL.
