The Dead and Little feat crossed paths many times and were fans of each other. In fact the great Lowell George (Guitarist, Little Feat) produced the Dead's album "Shakedown Street"
They never had those couple of songs that classic rock radio plays constantly. You have to find Little Feat, they're one of those bands or artists that are kind of a reward for digging into music a little deeper than the vast majority of people do.
Don’t sleep on Richie Hayward’s drumming. He kills that slow, syncopated, behind the beat groove. He always feels just right. Non-drummers always look at the dudes who fill all the space, but most drummers have a special Reverence for the dudes who can define the space and leave pockets of it open so the music can breathe. RIP Richie.
The Best band you never heard of...or so they say. There's a raw version of this song done at a radio station that is killer!! I can't think of any song they do that doesn't make me feel good.✌🏼So unmatched. Love me some Little Feat ❤❤❤
Lowell George was in Zappa's band. He says he got fired because he was writing songs about taking drugs. He also produced the Shakedown Street album of Grateful Dead that La wanted on vinyl.
@@parshakamarsh In November 1968, George joined Zappa's Mothers of Invention as rhythm guitarist and nominal lead vocalist; he can be heard on Weasels Ripped My Flesh, Burnt Weeny Sandwich, You Can't Do That on Stage Anymore, Vol. 1, You Can't Do That on Stage Anymore, Vol. 4 and the first disc of You Can't Do That on Stage Anymore, Vol. 5.
Little Feat are such a cool band! Such a great vibe. They are so good. Please react to them more, I’m betting most of your viewers who haven’t heard them might check them out based on your content. Also was a favourite of Robert Plant, he mentioned them often in interviews
I love Little Feat. When I go on a long road trip you can be sure I will be playing full Little Feat LPs (converted to digital for the car) and singing along.
Just one of the best bands ever. Could play anything. So much talent in the band. And they just played what they wanted to not striving for the big hit.
I’m a huge Feat fan. They were the band so many bands and artists respected. Soooo many great tracks. They really shined live. I hope you’ll experience lots more of their catalog.
So much variety on this album. (Although it was called The Last Record Album, it wasn't). You have other songs where keyboardist Bill Payne adds some jazz/rock flavor, and "All That You Dream" is great. It was this variety in the music that probably caused the creative differences that led to George breaking up the band shortly before he overdosed.
The Dead, Little Feat, Steely Dan, Alan Parsons Project, and The Band all have lots of differences but I put them all into this space in my head of bands where you can put on virtually any song of theirs in the background and just chill out and relax. It's so insanely listenable and well-produced. Lowell George actually played with Frank Zappa for a while and left to form his own band at the behest of Frank after playing "Willin'" for him.
Lowell George touched so much music in his time I mean he was everywhere. Just incredible incredible songwriter he worked with everybody. Favorite Lowell George song “Willin”, Linda Ronstadt’s edition.
In 2000 Little Feat we’re doing the summer festival circuit. I was lucky enough to host them at Bluesfest International in Ontario Canada. They were the nicest band/road crew I had ever met! I LOVE Little Feat! Peace
This band was great! My older siblings were fans and turned me on to them and others like Steely Dan. It was good education about music for a young kid.
Two stories about Lowell George; true or not they are interesting. It was already mentioned that Lowell was in the Mothers of Invention, Frank Zappa's band. Lowell showed Frank a song he wrote; 'Willin'" and Frank said Lowell, I think it's time for you to try another band. So, Lowell started Little Feat. Oh, I guess another quick comment. The band was named that because Lowell had little feet! "Long Distance Love" was written by Lowell during an evening with Jackson Browne and his then live in girlfriend, Linda Ronstadt. The story goes that Lowell was watching Linda paint her toenails while he was across the room. I first heard Bonnie Raitt tell this story before she sang the song. She said Lowell was so messed up he left the song and she got it from Jackson.
Hi La and Che .. I think 1976 at Santa Monica civic auditorium I saw Little Feat and Little River Band … it was the little show lol… after Lowell George died there was a concert at the forum…. Jackson Bonnie Linda and many more …
This is from the first Little Feat album I bought and I still love it. Some seem to prefer their live versions, but I rather listen to the original studio recordings.
Little heads up for you guys: the Feat are opening for Tedeschi Trucks in NorCal at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley (my all time favorite venue) and up Hwy 80 in Reno around the first of June... see you there
That particular recording was distorted. Little Feat are very talented and respected band. Lowell George died in a hotel I worked at. Sad ending of a talented soul.
I don’t know If you guys are familiar with the hiphop group Atmosphere, but I first found out about this song because Atmosphere sampled it in their song “Modern Man’s Hustle.” A great song sampling a great song.
Rhythmically they add this version of new orleans second line or three in four time ...very cool polyrhythmic ...they are deadish a bit but this rhythm is where they differ lowell George awesome slide player
I’m telling ya LF when of most under rated bands ever. Their groove is unmatched. Tx fellas
The Dead and Little feat crossed paths many times and were fans of each other. In fact the great Lowell George (Guitarist, Little Feat) produced the Dead's album "Shakedown Street"
And showed Bonnie Raitt how to slide guitar!
Got to give mad Props to Mr. G Lowell! Man was a very special artist.
Can’t believe they’re not in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame
They're too good.
@@lordprefab5534 😄👍🏼
They have been in mine since ‘74. 👍
They never had those couple of songs that classic rock radio plays constantly. You have to find Little Feat, they're one of those bands or artists that are kind of a reward for digging into music a little deeper than the vast majority of people do.
Such a slept on band! This song is one of my favorites…Lowell George was an incredible talent…one of those “musician’s musicians”
Don’t sleep on Richie Hayward’s drumming. He kills that slow, syncopated, behind the beat groove. He always feels just right. Non-drummers always look at the dudes who fill all the space, but most drummers have a special
Reverence for the dudes who can define the space and leave pockets of it open so the music can breathe. RIP Richie.
He was your favorite drummers favorite drummer. Listen to his session work like Robert Plants Little by Little. Excellent drums by Ritchie 😊
One of my favorite little feat songs along with roll um easy
Little Feets, one of those underrated bands, a musicians' band. Great stuff.
Treat yourselves to the live version of 'Spanish Moon' - see if you can remain seated.

Great, underrated band and awesome to see them getting some exposure!! They deserve new fans!!
Hope you can hit "Red Streamliner" next, back up vocals with Michael McDonald. They bring the funk on that track.
Lowell George was in Zappa's band. He says he got fired because he was writing songs about taking drugs. He also produced the Shakedown Street album of Grateful Dead that La wanted on vinyl.
Which year was that, I don't remember hearing anything from Zappa with Lowell George playing with him, I'd be interested to hear it?
@@parshakamarsh In November 1968, George joined Zappa's Mothers of Invention as rhythm guitarist and nominal lead vocalist; he can be heard on Weasels Ripped My Flesh, Burnt Weeny Sandwich, You Can't Do That on Stage Anymore, Vol. 1, You Can't Do That on Stage Anymore, Vol. 4 and the first disc of You Can't Do That on Stage Anymore, Vol. 5.
@@JB-Deadskins cheers for the info 👍🏼
One of their best! Never got much airplay but I LOVE this song!!

One of my all time favorite tunes
Thats 2.43 of absolute perfection right there. 'Ah her toes were so pretty
And her lies so sweet'
Marvellous
Just one of the best bands ever. Could play anything. So much talent in the band. And they just played what they wanted to not striving for the big hit.
Yup, that sound!
Rock and Roll Doctor live at Whistle Stop is short sweet and very funky
I’m a huge Feat fan. They were the band so many bands and artists respected. Soooo many great tracks. They really shined live. I hope you’ll experience lots more of their catalog.
Wow that was beautiful! Thank you both.

First discovered LF in '72 (Sailin' Shoes) loved them ever since 👍🇬🇧
In 2000 Little Feat we’re doing the summer festival circuit. I was lucky enough to host them at Bluesfest International in Ontario Canada. They were the nicest band/road crew I had ever met!
I LOVE Little Feat!
Peace
One of the greatest songs ever
PUT THEM IN THE ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME NOW!
I concur…
I can’t take the R&R Hall of Fame seriously as long as such omissions continue year after year! ABBA but no Feat? Really?
It's a song that makes me kick back and enjoy!! What a fantastic band!! Excellent reaction, fellas 👏 😊❤.
Looovve little feat! Ty cays!
This band was great! My older siblings were fans and turned me on to them and others like Steely Dan. It was good education about music for a young kid.
Frank Zappa signed Little Feat to their first recording contract, as well as Alice Cooper and Devo.

Oh yes boys! Didn’t realise you had done this one. It’s such a beautiful song. Little Feat were fantastic
Little Feat and the Dead played some shows together late 80s, early 90s I believe
Ahhhhh… I love Little Feat!
We played some Little Feat @ every party in my High School years! Excellent song brothers 😊
More Litte Feat, please!!! ❤
Lowell George
!!! right?
Damn that opening 🔥
You guys NEED to listen to the Feat's take on "Can't Be Satisfied", brand new, from the current version of the band.
This song was covered by the late beautiful Nicolette Larsen. She did a fab version too.

One of my favs.
More of this please. Years to pick from.
You must try Dixie Chicken and Fat Man in the Bathtub, both from the Dixie Chicken album. Just great songs with great choruses.
Dixie Chicken LIVE. Such harmony, Amazing!!

What a show that will be with those two bands!
20 million things from Lowell’s solo album
Yes! Please do "Willin'" by them
They have…
I pity any music lover who hasn’t heard Little Feat.
That particular recording was distorted. Little Feat are very talented and respected band. Lowell George died in a hotel I worked at. Sad ending of a talented soul.
Saw Feat open for Tedeschi Trucks in Atlantic City, opening shows for the TTB “Deuces Wild” tour this year…Feat still has it…
More Feat, Much More.......Waiting for Columbus, top 3 live albums EVER
Feats Don't Stop Me Now
You gentlemen should check out the song called Red Streamliner by Little Feat. You will not be disappointed.
It's said that they are thd best band no one knows.
I don’t know If you guys are familiar with the hiphop group Atmosphere, but I first found out about this song because Atmosphere sampled it in their song “Modern Man’s Hustle.” A great song sampling a great song.
Can't miss with these boys. Hopefully you get around to 'Red streamliner '.
Saw them in1977 or 1978. Singing with the band were both Bonnie Raitt and Emmylou Harris. Capitol theater Passaic New Jersey.
All time favorite b side. This is totally a boomer dad's Playlist favorite
I think Grateful Dead and Little Feat share a loose, jammy style. Little Feat grab me more.
This song is my lament to the 1980s, as all I got was ________.
Gotta react to "Two Trains" next.
Play the next tune!
Dixie Chicken
Never heard a poor Little Feat performance....
Rhythmically they add this version of new orleans second line or three in four time ...very cool polyrhythmic ...they are deadish a bit but this rhythm is where they differ lowell George awesome slide player
