Back in the Seventies, they used to call Little Feat “The best band that you’ve never heard of.”
Unfortunately, that seems to still be true today.
Hopefully, you guys and your channel will help change that.
Apolitical Blues/ Feets Don't Fail Me Now/ (Sweet?) China White! Omg Guys? Could you review them again? I'd love ❤ to hear your thoughts!
Little Feat = musician’s musicians.
That's a great live album, one of the best. Capturing these guys at their peak is really special. RIP Lowell George
I had the good fortune to see Feat with Lowell George. That's all that needs to be said.
👣 Forever
Me too and am incredibly thankful!
@@Fuphyter Me too.
Amen
One of the best live albums ever made.
@penelopefloor2935. If you want to hear Lowell George’s Little Feat at their absolute best, try to find a bootleg recording called “Electrif Lycanthrope” from 1974. “Waiting For Columbus” is very good, but some of the early LF bootlegs are so much better.
One of the greatest live albums ever.
Little Feat plays so many styles on Waiting For Columbus. It was released way back in 1977, and every tune has its own flavor.
Mercenary Territory and All That You Dream are outstanding tunes. I hope y'all keep playing this outstanding record.
Dixie Chicken off this album is great y’all will enjoy the story he’s telling clever lyrics and a fun song….y’all gonna love it
Check out Sneaking Sally Through the Ally by Robert Palmer, Little Feet are the back up band in the Studio.
Actually the backup band was The Meters on that song with Lowell George. But yeah, check out that song. Great suggestion my friend.
Bill Payne is a master ketboardist. I remember how Linda Ronstadt was asked who her favourite band was way back in the middle of an early 70s Troubadour gig and she just said "Little Feat".
She was smitten with Lowell George, lucky guy
She actually hooked up with Lowell George, which she initiated. Then she got a knock on the door from his wife and it ended soon. But that's how much she admired him, one talented musician to another.
She did a great version of this song
Yes, she did.@@SBel65
One of the greatest truck driving songs ever written. Captured the 1970s perfectly. Another one by them is off their first lp also called Truck Stop Girl.
Best truck driving song ever written. RIP Lowell.
Truckin' country! Weed, whites and wine. White cross was speed also known as trucker vitamins.
Benzydrine. Beans. Bennies.
Cross Tops or Whites is what they were known as where I grew up. They were originally diet pills with a specific side effect of keeping you awake...for days.
Killer tune, from a killer band.. “Fat Man In A Bathtub” and “Cold Cold Cold” are great tunes. Hell they really don’t have a bad song. This music reminds me of my Daddy, and riding around the ranch checking fence line and counting heads.. Under that North Texas sky, that seemed to go on forever! Thank you for sharing all the great music with the World..
Fat Man in the Bathtub is essential Little Feat.
That was a nice memory. Thanks for sharing.
Richie Hayward on drums, Sam Clayton on percussion, Kenny Gradney on bass, Paul Barrere on guitar and vocals, Billy Payne on keyboards and Lowell George on guitar and vocals. A fabulous band that I was fortunate enough to see live in their heyday in 1976. They could play any kind of music and it was all about the music and never about having a hit song. In my mind, this is what separates them from the Eagles who started in California about the same time as Little Feat. Anything off this live album is great. Their studio stuff from back in the day was fire too. Lowell George left the band in the late 70's and passed away. Band went on a hiatus and then came back. They still tour now. Paul Barrere and Richie Hayward also passed away. RIP to the three of them,
Didn't know. Thanks. Fell in love as soon as I heard them. Trouble was, you never heard them. ???
This is a 'closing time' song everyone sings along with, toasting their beers. Also a sing-along at any good party. Country, funk, hard rockiñ boogie band! Cant put 'em in a category other than Little Feet! Got a sound ALL their own. Absolute gem of an album and a band 💎 A rough cut diamond that shines above the rest. Yes...this is a great choice...LIVE!!🔥 Thanks! A MUST HAVE ALBUM!!! You left off Dont Bogart That Joint....💨
Once again, Linda Ronstadt did a great rendition of Willin'. On her Heart Like A Wheel album.
There's a great live version on RUclips also.
Linda Ronstadt does great covers of Willin’ and Roll Um Easy - you should definitely check those out.
Absolutely love this song. And you made the right call, going with the live version. ❤
Man we used to have field parties back in the '70s we'd be out in the farmers field cutting up have a big bonfire and be singing around this is campfire singing songs like this. Really takes me back about 45 years! Peace and love!😊
Lil Feat is untouchable still to this day!!! Will forever be my fav live album!
Little Feat is just one of those secrets everyone needs to discover at some point. Weed, Whites, and Wine.. That would make me Willin... I see the subscribers going up guys... congrats... wish it was a faster rise in subs considering the quality of your channel and reactions.
Spanish Moon time guys....

This song has been covered by hundreds of bands, some famous (Tom Petty, Phish, Byrds, etc.), some not so famous. Love all your reactions of Little Feat. Thanks!!
Lead Singer/Songwriter/Guitarist Lowell George (RIP) wrote "Willin' " when he was a member of Frank Zappa and The Mothers Of Invention, back in the mid-1960's. Lowell brought the song to Frank, to see if he would want to record it. Frank told him No Thank You, why don't you go form your own band. Ta Da, a while later, Little Feat was born. Had the great good fortune to see Little Feat, with Lowell George, in 1978, on the tour to promote the "Waiting For Columbus" live album. Just an amazing show, of the 500 or so I have seen, easily in the Top Ten. Easily. When I'm driving around, and this album is playing in my car, i say to myself, "I've got the Little Feat advantage", meaning NOTHING can go wrong. It's always worked. So far.
One of the reasons why Frank Zappa said no to “Willin’” was because of the drugs references “Weed, whites and wine” in the chorus. Frank was most definitely anti - drugs.
Great song but I much prefer the studio (Sailin' Shoes, not the debut) version. You guys have been killing it lately.
Flat out one of the greatest bands ever!!!!!
Playing one of the best live albums ever.
I have seen them dozens of times with all of their different lineups. They're still out there playing their special brand of eclectic funk and still are the best band no one has heard of.
This was my dad's favorite band of all time. I remember growing up and going over to his house in the mid 90s and him asking me what I wanted to listen too and it was always between this album which I called the "tomato soup album" and dire straits "brothers in arms" still love both of those albums to this day.
I have been to alot of concerts and i regret not seeing these guys live...
It's layered, every genre layered with funkability! Amazing group I saw them 3 X back in 70s early 80's. Saw this tour Waiting for Columbus. They were the real deal. Great rhythm section.
This is in the top 5 greatest live albums in history, their music is timeless
I was at this concert in the late 70s - still the best concert I've ever been to! Love me some Little Feat since 1972.
Sang this several times last year, driving 2500 miles from Phoenix to S Florida....at the top of my lungs.
You HAVE TO watch the live video of Feat doing the great "Spanish Moon" with the epic TOWER OF POWER horn section.
Life changing.
“This sounds incredible” is the perfect reaction to this song lol
Love this band and song! Lowell was ahhmmazing!!! One of a kind phenominal band
We love the Feats! Let's hear it for Little Feat!
That's them. Feats don't fail me now!
This is really the only country song on the album but it's a good one. The backing vocals are amazing. Feet Don't Fail Me Now is on this album as well.
Yes they did Feats don’t fail me now! Lifelong C’s fan and I appreciate the Celts attire. Nuff said, we know the deal☘️
One of the best albums ever. Double album
Soul, country, gospel, blues: Little Feat
I was lucky enough to see them in concert. It was such a fun time!!!
Yes they did Feat Don't Fail Me Now. They were a great band that did not get the recognition they deserved. RIP Lowell George. It's always a pleasure watching your reactions. Appreciate you fellas
Back in the day they were your favourite bands favourite band! Now ya know why...they did it all.
Thank you for sharing. I haven't heard that in a while. Just a killer band. My favorite is" Rocket in my pocket (live 1970's). The best video I've ever seen of Little Feat. The sound is incredible
Little Feat. Such a tight band.
Yes, Feats Don’t Fail Me Now, legendary
All-time favorite!!! 😃
I've always loved that album cover! To me this song almost has a Sunday spiritual vibe. Takin' you to church...
Greg Allman paid tribute to Lowell by doing his version of this song on his last solo band album while he was dying. Very touching.
One of the best live bands ever
Best live album, ever~
@drownzsurf. Yes sir, "Waiting For Columbus" is a fine live album from Little Feat. But - if you can find it, check out an early LF live bootleg album called "Electrif Lycanthrope". The band played for a small audience on a US radio station broadcast back in 1974(?). Rumour has it that Lowell George himself "tweaked" the mix of the "final" studio tape! There is a 12+ minute medley of "Spanish Moon/Skin It Back/Fat Man In The Bathtub" which IMHO is just the band at their absolute best. Hope you can find this gem. If you like LF, you will not be disappointed. Stay safe and well.
Cool tune. I played this with my brother-in-law a few times. Fun stuff.
Been groovin to Lowell George and Little Feat for decades. Nice to see young folks getting into them.
The energy between their audiences and the band was, as with the Grateful Dead, always amazing.
Check out "Spanish Moon" from this same live album.
RIP Lowell George (he played with Zappa before Little Feat.)
I'm glad y'all are checking this band out. That particular album is a live masterpiece.
Little Feat is a band that should've gotten more recognition Imo, although they were very popular in my area back in the '70s and '80s.
Check out this whole album if you can. I suggest Dixie Chicken or Sailing Shoes from this album for your next choice. I think they're better than the studio versions, which are great also.
Great band. Special favorite in the Washington, DC area from way back. Thanks!
Made a round trip from Winnipeg, Manitoba to Ramona, California a lot longer by insisting on going to Tucson, Tucumcari, Tehachapi and Tonopah on the way because of this song. Been wanting to make that trip since the late seventies when I first heard it on the "Waiting for Columbus" album. No regrets.
Lowell George has such a great voice. More clear in his solo song "Cheek To Cheek" which was a major hit in the late 70s - and he sings some parts in Mexican Spanish. Love that song.
Love this song.
Love Little Feat and Lowell George. My favorite is Dixie Chicken and Fat Man in the Bathtub.
Dayummmm what a fucking band they were........
Perhaps the best live album ever !
The best!
There have been SO MANY covers to this! Everyone has a version. Uncle tupelo is my favourite.
Hall OF FAME
My oldest son was Feat's guitar technician for about 10 years. I have autographed posters all over my house lol.
That’s awesome!!
A little country Reggae? Whatever......it is special. LOVE me some Feat.
Absolutely love it 1 of my favorite jam bands
Bill Payne on keyboards 🎹
Fantastic!
Love this song and had not heard this live version. But I always wondered about the selection of the Towns. They all start with T and sound good in the lyrics but this is a regional run. Come on Driver, go get some of them Coast to Coast miles. Tuscon, AZ to Tucumcari, NM 600 Miles. Tehachapi, CA to Tonopah, NV 300 miles. I drove past all of them years ago a few times but I never did smuggle any smokes or folks. Thanks for the great song selection Airplay Beats.
Lowell wrote this while in The Mothers of Invention. Various accounts of how he left the band...
Frank hated the song because it was about drugs and kicked him out.
Frank liked the song but it wasn't a " Mothers " song and suggested he go start a band of his own.
As always its probably somewhere in between. Frank probably gave him the push he needed to go on his own. Frank being Frank, I can see him sarcastically saying " if that's the crap you're going to bring me, go start your own damn band !"😂
Whenever I play in front of an audience and I get stuck on what to play next, this is the song I play. I can play it in my sleep
One of the best semi-live albums ever (Lowell George re-recorded a lot of the guitar parts). And who would have expected that one of the best country truck driving tunes would be by a rock band.
Great song! Gregg Allman does a nice version of this song. Great review guys.
Linda Ronstadt did a great cover of this song.
My favorite LF song by far.
Could I recommend Linda Ronstadt's live version of "Willin". Every word is sung so clearly.
Great reaction... Just so you know , We luv some Dixie Chicken down in Dixieland... lol
This album means so much to me and my party days lol… but I guess they’re still going!! Feats don’t fail me now!!
Love this song. Thanks guys. 👍
Feats Don't Fail Me Now Is A Great Song, Title Track.
I’m glad you guys are doing this- the Live Album is tremendous
Their harmony vocals are incredible.
Actually prefer the studio version for this one, about 10bpm faster. It is one of the very few country style songs I really love. Weed, Whites and Wine, all the boxes ticked for a long journey!
Great song, great album. Linda Ronstadt does a great cover
The everything featured on the album cover ( except the sky and clouds) are things that from the new world, and were not found in Europe before 1492. Thus the Waiting For Columbus title
First! Great tune
And I've been from Tuscon to Tucumcari, Tehatchapi to Tonopah!
Alliteration at its best. Lowell seemed to like multisyllables that rolled off the tongue.
@@davidhunter801 weed, whites and wine
I never paid much attention to Little Feat growing up. Big mistake on my part. They are excellent and this live album is first rate. Thanks for another fun reaction.
Nice!
If you dive down the Tom Petty rabbit hole, you'll eventually come across this tune. Great song guys
Second best live album ever.. Right behind.. At the Filmore East Allman Brothers Band .... You really want to do this whole album ....the horn section is the Tower of Power horns
live clip of this band........Spanish Moon
When they get to Spanish Moon, they will lose their minds.
Lowell George even toured as a member of Frank Zappa's band at one point.
Guys! Gotta do “Spanish Moon”’from this!!!
Dallas Alice.
The definitive version, in my view, is done by Linda Ronstadt on her Heart Like A Wheel album.
Linda Ronstadt does an incredible Live version too. You should check her out
