Hard disk detected in bios but not by windows

  • I have an Aorus x570 motherboard with AMD ryzen 3900x CPU. I had no trouble installing my two nvme drives but when I installed my hard disk it was not getting detected by Windows despite trying to initialize it. The hard disk was getting detected in the bios but not by windows. I tried multiple methods to try to get the hard disk detected including running a memory diagnostics but did not help. I tried switching off the raid controller by AMD and it worked

Bro, I've been trying to resolve this problem for MONTHS! I installed third-party softwares, and tweaked countless settings but to no luck. I have an AORUS B550 Elite motherboard, so I turned off the AMD Raid setting in my BIOS and it freaking resolved my issue. Thank you so much!

@@anurajmsI turned off the raid but now it only boots into the bios and won’t go into windows lol any tips?

    • @anurajms
      @anurajms  9 месяцев назад +1

@@bkdoesstuff1582 hi not sure what caused the issue. i am not really a computer expert but these are some of chat gpt solutions. not sure if this would be helpful but may be worth trying
If you turned off RAID and your computer is now only booting into the BIOS but not into Windows, it's possible that the RAID configuration was essential for your Windows installation, and changing it has disrupted the boot process. Here are some steps you can take to resolve this issue:
      Check Boot Order:
First, make sure that your computer is set to boot from the correct boot device. In the BIOS settings, look for the "Boot" or "Boot Order" menu. Ensure that your primary storage device, where Windows is installed, is selected as the first boot option.
      SATA Mode:
If you were using RAID before, it's likely that your storage mode was set to RAID in the BIOS. Now that you've turned off RAID, you may need to change the SATA mode to AHCI or another appropriate mode. Different systems may have slightly different options, so consult your motherboard's manual for details on how to change the SATA mode.
      Repair Windows Installation:
If changing the boot order or SATA mode doesn't solve the issue, you may need to repair your Windows installation. You can do this using a Windows installation USB or DVD. Here's how:
      a. Boot your computer from the Windows installation media.
      b. Select your language preferences and click "Next."
      c. Click "Repair your computer."
      d. In the Advanced options menu, select "Troubleshoot" and then "Startup Repair."
      e. Follow the on-screen instructions to repair the Windows installation.
      Backup Data:
Before making significant changes to your system, it's always a good idea to back up your important data if you haven't already. You can use a bootable USB drive or live Linux distribution to access your data if necessary.
      Check RAID Configuration:
If you want to continue using RAID, double-check your RAID configuration and make sure it's set up correctly. You may need to recreate the RAID array and reinstall Windows if it was installed on a RAID volume.
      BIOS Update:
It's possible that a BIOS update might be needed to resolve compatibility issues. Check your motherboard manufacturer's website for the latest BIOS updates and follow their instructions for updating the BIOS.
      Seek Professional Help:
If you're not comfortable making these changes or are uncertain about the cause of the problem, consider seeking assistance from a professional technician or contacting your computer's manufacturer for support.
Keep in mind that making changes to your system's configuration can have consequences, so proceed with caution and be sure to back up your data before attempting major changes.

Holy shit bro, no way that was it. I had the exact same problem, my HDD was showing up on my BIOS as toshiba under SATA as P2, but not in windows. I tried everything and even bought a new HDD cable and contaced GIGABYTE themselves but even they couldn't figure it out. Thank you so much for this video, i was struggling for 5 months, gave up, and then tried again hoping that i would find something and it turns out i had to click 1 button to fix it. I have one question though, does turning that AMD RaidXpert off have an effect on your pc / performance? I remember turning it on because it had something to do with the RAM memory but im not sure.
