oh!yeah!!!!!!!!! this is great video clip for me. usually 08outlander video clip can't find in youtube and anywhere. you are the best.man!! and i wanna change my 08 outlander front speaker.but i don't know how to that. i'm wating when you upload video clip man!!
Thanks for the video dude. It really helps. It doesn't really seem complicated at all. I just have a few questions. How long does it take to do this?? 3-4 hours?? And what was the model number or place u bought the subwoofer from?? I guess if i use a similar or same one as urs i will know what to do as its the same. Plus i don't want crazy bass ... just decent sound. BTW did the sub u install have an amplifier??
So i have a 08 GTS, Just got it. Still has OEM amp, But the wires in the back have been cut already, So it has had a system I'm guessing. I want to hook up my Autotek 1000Watt amp, just to push 2 12s. Can I do that? Plus have OEM for the door speakers? Or will I have to purchase another amp to run the door speakers and take out the oem? Last time I di this, I had a aftermarket but I don't wana pay 600$+ for a new aftermarket with Nav
+Xander Moores yes you can use the oem for the speakers and your 1000 for the subs providing they didn't remove the original wiring for the oem amp. If they left the wiring from the original sub in the trunk you can use that to run a converter as your other question or use it directly to the high-level input. The oem sub is a dual-voice coil so there will be four wires, two positive and two negative. you could use just two of them for your 1000 amp. It can be done for a good price and without the need of a new head unit. The first thing I did with my lancer was removed the oem sub and added two tens, then I got a new HU, then speakers and amp etc. I did it by staged but not all at once.
Hi mate, have watched all of your videos - super informative! I have a 2006 outlander with a J-01 MMCS headunit and RF system. I want to rip out the J-01 and replace with an aftermarket double din screen (so it works with reversing camera etc), and rip out the factory sub and amp and replace, ideally using the factory sub enclosure which looks like it's ported at the back so uses some of the wheel well (???), but will require a shallow mount sub as it's only about 5" deep. Do you know if it's possible to replace the headunit, sub, and amp, and if it will interfere with the car in any other way if I rip out and throw away the factory amp to do this? Do you have any advice or things to watch out for in doing this? Thanks heaps and appreciate your input, thanks - Nick from New Zealand
Hey Nick, thanks for watching all my videos! The oem sub does take some space in the hatch so using that as your enclosure is a great idea. Removing and replacing the head unit, amp and sub will not affect anything in your car. Assuming your new head unit will have handsfree and is able to connect to the steering wheel controls then you will be just fine. You will have to remove the oem bluetooth modue (if it came with one) to not have any issues with the new unit. You can use this video of my lancer as a reference when wiring up your system if you do speakers as well. ruclips.net/video/5JIILXIX5zk/видео.html Hope this helps.
QUESTION, HOW DID YOU INSTALL THE POWER WIRE, I SAW WHERE IT PASSED, BUT DID YOU START FROM THE INSIDE, OR IN THE ENGINE BAY. THANKS, I'M TRYING TO INSTALL IN A 08 XLS AS WELL.
a1dookie sorry for the late reply, I've been away. I started from inside, I made a small opening and fed a small wire to fish the wire through it. Not an easy spot but worked just fine for the size of the wire that I used.
I didnt use any rca cables as I used the four wires from the factory sub and connected them to the high level input on the amp with the adapter. Later when the oem radio was upgraded is when I used rca cables.
the factory is a rockford amp as are the speakers. The whole system is rated at 710 watts. For your evo x you can do the exact same thing I've done in this outlander. You can also try using your oem amp but don't know how it will handle the oem one plus an aftermarket one. I would suggest removing the oem sub and adding an aftermarket sub and amp. You will still have control over the bass/punch going to it if you keep your factory radio.
Factory amp was left in, just added the two subs. If all you're doing is changing the sub then use the signal wires as I did and run a remote turn on as I did as well. Don't do anything to the amp because that still powers all the speakers.
@@esqu3l3to okay sounds good. Thanks for this video. I wanted to wire from the factory amp but found that to be impossible so your video gave me the solution.
Hi just tried to figure out what wires go to which and hooked up my test light to the stock plug where the factory sub goes and all four wires are have power is that normal and do you recall which wire is what
Yes they all have a signal. The wires are as follows: yellow (+) blue (-) and red (+) black (-). Its a dual voice coil sub. Using the high level input adapter connect all four wires to the oem wires. I cant recall which is left or right but that wont really matter.
Good day! Thanks for posting video. I have a lancer 2009 gt. Would you know the actual impedance and wattage of the stock Rockford 10 inch sub? also, where you able to locate where the stock amplifier that powered the stock subwoofer if there ever is one? thanks again.
the stock sub is a 4 ohm, watts I'm not sure. The stock amp in the lancers is located under the drivers seat. If you watch my other video on how to install an amplifier you can see the location and how to remove it if you choose to upgrade it.
I have buy an aftermarket android system on my lancer with rockford syatem amp under my seat but i cant get sounds on it any help or idea how my stock amplifier works on android
hello! i have a Lancer 1.8 10' with rockford sound system on it. i bought yesyerday one Rockford Fosgate Power 1500.1BD amp and one magnat subwoofer 800W/250W RMS 4Ω load. as i can see,you have 2 subs and the wires where 2 for each sub. my sub has 2 wires, what should i do? can i slpice them together so i can get 2 wires at the end? thanks!
I got my amp kit from a local car shop, I used 8 gauge. The signal I used the 4 wires (dual voice coil factory sub) to connect it using the high level input on the amp. The color of wires along with the polarity should be in the description box.
do most modern sub amplifiers take the high level inputs you are showing? i'm trying to do this but i need an amp that will do 1000rms @ 3ohms for a 12w7. Any advice will help. I'm in no way an expert on doing audio installs, but the only times I've done a subwoofer install I was fortunate enough to have RCA outputs from the headunit to the subwoofer amplifier so I've never had any experience with the high level inputs. If you can recommend an amplifier that would be great.
most of the amps I've seen/used do have it. When you look for one look at the details of it and it will tell you if it does have it or not. I will PM you more info.
The oem sub was changed for extra bass. RF is good but oem systems will never be the same quality as aftermarket even with brand names. I replaced the entire system in my 08 pancer with all new RF system and kenwood HU.
I got a 2013 lancer se with stock speakers, it Sucks! And it's not that loud. Well its okay but im use to speakers way better then the stock ones in my lancer. Gotta upgrade
A tip is to put a piece of electrical tape over the top of the flathead to not damage the plastic as much.
+Michael Carle - that is correct. I didnt have any proper removal tools then but now I do!

My 1000k had a high input for it, but it's a single din female not a double like in your car. Is there a Convertor?
+Xander Moores yes I'm sure there is a converter to a double, can also get a converter to rca.

My uncle has subwoofer like that we thinking changing the radio it doesn't has aux or bluetooth I love the sub
A better radio with bluetooth or direct connection (usb) will make the sub pound 👌👍
@@esqu3l3to can I put another rockford fosgate subwoofer in the right
You can add a dual setup or two singles, one on each side if you want
I know this post is old but I have a question the red and black are for what power or speaker l/r and the yellow and blue is for what also
Thanks
The left/right sets are as follows: yellow + blue -
And red + black -
Does not really matter which you use for Left or right set

Correct, most have that input aside from the rca but just check to make sure before you buy one.

no,i am saying for the wires before the stock amp. which one i will cut to put to the converter? the LEFT LINE IN +/- and the RIGHT LINE IN?
I know this was years ago but could I just run a signal wire to factory amp? Did you u plug the factory amp or just leave it be?

I'm wondering if a Hi-low convertor with the 4 wires would be the same thing as you instead of the connector you used?
Yup, a converter would work just as well. I used the hi-level input as the amp this have that.
could you please why you put the fuse there and why did you modify it?
No the stock sub was disconnected as I used the signal from it to the new amplifier.
