It's kinda dubious to me. If Givas is a friend, why did Meguma planet programmed Givas to be an "enemy" or even an "obstacle"? And next episode "coffee man" will write a report? Ultra-greetings from Brazil! Is Philippines watching Ultraman ARC?
It wasn't. The master died inside the vehicle & Givas had no idea. So it was basically a mindless wanderer searching for it's master, not knowing it's master had already died within it. Couple that with the first meaning of "Givas" and you can see why it was initially treated as an enemy, but was actually defending itself. "Does this planet have my " Givas (enemy/friend)?" "Are you going to be my Givas (enemy/friend)?" In this case," Givas" means "friend" because as Rin explained that's the meaning when the planet has a moon in the sky, because the original planet from which they came was "Holy Moon Mujari". That planet's energy made them flourish. So they were searching for a "New moon" when Planet Mujari was attacked so that they can flourish again. In other words, they were searching for another home.

The word Givas does mean enemy but it is dependent on the presence of a moon and when the moon is out, it means friend. I guess it shows how the Meguma values their moon highly. While washing himself up at a bathhouse Yuma meets Mr. Numata who thanks him and Ishido for allowing him to return to the Inn and lends his ear to Yuma who was feeling down. Turns out Ishido knew Yuma would be feeling guilty for his harsh words and thought if Numata can help out a bit. Yuma along with Numata goes back to SKIP to apologize and convince everyone again only to find out there was no need to convince and no apology was needed and they all got to work. Through Numata they learned that Givas is a robot from the Planet Meguma who is an advanced civilization whose people travel the stars with large ships much like Givas. Rin finishes the translator and uncovers the rest of Givas's message that he is searching for a new moon since the moon from his planet has died out and thus Meguma is falling into ruin. In an attempt to communicate with Givas with limited time given to them, Yuma makes the move to climb into the cockpit of Givas to communicate. Yuma finds the cockpit only to find the pilot is already long dead and he accidentally jumps into the cockpit when Gubira attacked Givas again. The helmet the dead Meguma was wearing put itself onto Yuma's head and it played a recorded message to Yuma telling him of his passing and that Planet Meguma is no more after its' moon died out. It gave Givas one final message before he passed and it's to find a friend as otherwise it would give up on living finding out his master has passed. Yuma with this message stops the fight between Gubira and Givas as Arc and manages to communicate and reach Givas. Yuma just before GDF arrived sent Givas his way towards a new journey. Last time, it was a planet that has died due to pollution and now it's a planet who fell into extinction losing its' moon that allowed that civilization to achieve prosperity. Ultraman Arc series is really creating a sense of realism in a universe protected by Ultras showing that there will always be civilizations who meet their end by natural causes or simply self destruction not caused by extraterrestrial tyrants like the Yapool or psycho low lives like Celebro.
Honestly, I’m personally supporting Blazar & Arc more than "new generation" Heisei ultras. Unlike Ultraman Trigger & Decker, Blazar actually takes steps to move away from the "bad ultraman tropes". For example, using less footage of the green screen rooms for power-ups in fights, as that usually broke immersion. Another one is Gento not revealing his identity. When literally every Ultraman nowadays does it, it gets boring. Gento not revealing his identity & finding a way to keep it a secret as he’s crying is refreshing. Ultraman in the past (specifically new gen heisei) lost its "light" by caring all about selling toys, doing anniversary stuff too often (which can be a problem in any toku that’s decades old), & just overall caring more about money rather than telling a story. But in recent years, it’s regaining its light. The characters are more realistic & grounded, the shows have been trying to stand on their own with very little crossover stuff, & while toys are still the main revenue unfortunately, their focus has been on creating stories that inspire us to be the light. And that is why I support Blazar & Arc over any rehash of a heisei ultra.
