I've put a gobi2000 card in mine, and I can use mobile data with a sim. Sim goes in battery compartment. Put an ssd and 8gb ram which speeds it up a lot. In theory its also a GPS card, although I'm not sure I've got it working on windows 10. It definately works with GPS on windows 7. The drivers are now on the Lenovo EOL (end of life) website. You need to install the intel turbo driver, to get the best cpu performance. However I found for sata drivers, the microsoft default was faster than the Intel driver. Also put usb 3 express card in.
You can also put in an internal webcam which just plugs in once the bezel is off if it doesn't come with one. I'm going to try to upgrade the processor to an i7 640m for the hell of it, which I believe is the fastest processor the motherboard will take. Its still a really fast laptop for general use, and built solid as hell ! It runs linux or windows 10 well. Lots of cheap spare parts on ebay, and as you say easy to work on which makes it a good project laptop which isn't too expensive.
Drivers are now here : download.lenovo.com/eol/index.html?redir=y&redirsrc=4
That's awesome!
I have this beast with i7 CPU as my back up laptop (i use desktop). I've had it for about 8 years and now it started giving me fan error which is very common in this model. i ordered a replacement fan and waiting for it so i can install it. I even dropped it a couple times and nothing happened! I absolutely love this laptop!
Still very solid for 2021
Bro pls tell me i am going to buy it for work on office programmes and programming is it good for that?
@@m5tuber245 yes it should be good enough for what you need it for
@@triumphelectronix8699 thanks bro
Still use a T410 just for home use, internet, nas transfer that kind of stuff, use a desktop for the grunt work. Best upgrade I made was dumping out the DVD drive and installing a second SSD drive in it's place. Lenovo after the T430 unfortunately have gone the thin is better route that has near on killed upgradability.
Actually I received a t410 but mine doesn't have a camera built in but as the fingerprint scanner thing oh the side, but thanks for the video it help me a lot actually. Have a nice day bro.
thanks!
I always liked the modularity of the thinkpads
Still have some of these in use at work so I wouldn’t really class this as retro yet, old yes but not retro for a good few more years yet.
Great robust business class laptop that was built to last.
Very helpful video. I was about to unnecessarily go shopping for a better laptop to run fusion 360 & some other cad cam programs for home use. I think now I'll just adjust settings to get by for.
Awesome! Thanks for watching.
This laptop good for cad cam or not?
I never tried install windows 10 on my thinkpad T410, it seems good, thank you
You're welcome!
Bro u use t410 for what??
This will be my 3rd Lenovo. I had 2 x200 but the usb are all broken connecting to arduino`s mega`s sending data. Hopefully the USB`s can be replaced if I brake any of these. You can replace one USB on a x200 next to the audio port.
Ibuy tody very special laptop
Awesome!
Can you help me to find the drivers ifeel the resolution of scren in windows 10 isnt optimal
@@omerhaggar9188 download.lenovo.com/eol/ and try the windows 7 driver
I don't know if it still enough for today's use or not, I have one and it have problem playing 1080p 60fps RUclips video without it stuttering or 720p 60fps without audio being in sync..
Have you tried the browser plugin h264ify? It really helps with RUclips performance on older systems
Try mpv+yt-dlp for 1080p60fps.
Works like a charm on my X201!
I'm thinking of selling the same model ... how much do you think is a good price?
Currently between 100-150?
@@retropcdurham sorry bro, it's a thinkpad edge e13
@@retropcdurham how much do you think it can be worth?
@@jairorafaelcejas834 The Edge 13? Do you have an Intel or AMD version? The AMD versions from this era have a lot of issues with cheap chipsets, but the Intel versions are still solid design and if it's in good condition you should be able to get between 50-75 for it easy
@@retropcdurham Intel
Good job
Thanks!
Is t410 doesnt have fingerprint sensor, some shows it have on right to mouse pad..
This model didn't have one, but there is a replacement palmrest/trackpad assembly service part that includes the fingerprint reader.
How to turn on the keyboard light
The T410 does not have a backlit keyboard, but you can turn on the ThinkLight by pressing Fn+PgUp (the bottom left and top right keys)
What to do if it doesnt turn on
You will want to start diagnosis of why it isn't turning on. Start with battery and charger
This Laptop Worth For Programming?
I think so yes
@@retropcdurham Have You Faced Any Issues While Downloading Softwares or Multi Task?
@@DramaDen4959 Outside of rendering and compiling you should be ok
@@retropcdurham Thanks

Is this think pad support kali linux
Yes
We have to install anti virus or not
@@Urronaldofy Kali Linux is more for test environment so antivirus usually isn't something added.
@@retropcdurham can you make the video how can we install kali linux in think pad please
