One thing I loved about Patricia is when she went off, SHE WENT OFF !! Tore up the whole house. Peace to Tyler Perry for letting “JANET” get all that anger and anguish out from the passing of her Beloved Brother.
I heard the scene where she cries on the steps she had lines. But she was so heartbroken about Michael dying that she couldn't get the lines. So the ladies just hugged her
Patricia's actions and her pride caused her entire family to die in car wrecks TWICE. She was wrong AF for not getting the help she needed to navigate her negative emotions especially given that she was an entire therapist/counselor.
Ok, let me push back on this. Gavin was on some BS when it came to the Divorce agreements. Trying to get half of her $$$ from her work to me as a man was trifling and to her ….triggering !! I see what Tyler tried to do with the scene with all is far and shoe on the other foot stuff but HOMIE…leave her $$$ alone and move on smoothly.
@@BellesViewNaw Angela a terrible friend too. Anybody and they momma would have to be around her when she’s drunk and arguing all the time. Hell she didn’t even tell the truth to Sheila because she liked Sheila, she told the truth to Sheila because she hates Mike. She hated Mike more than she liked Sheila.
It was tacky. There’s no way around it. It’s a well known polite rule to never speak on when someone is having a child. Especially given that Sheila KNEW they lost a child. Sheila doesn’t think before she talks and that’s where she lost my sympathy in this film. In the first one she was at least sympathetic 😭
@@christaylor7916he got loud in 2 scenes. Troy being upset about spending their last on a trip was reasonably logical. If we barely have money to pay our mortgage, why would you suggest taking a trip?? Then the nerve of her to go to her abusive ex to ask for a favor for me would've been the last straw. Shelia turned into a watered down version of Mike. She may have not put her hands on Troy but the way she treated him was wrong. Now Troy isn't in the clear for me. The same way you checked Mike, you should've checked your wife. Why in the hell would you move to expensive ass Atlanta without having some money?? Bro owned a general store and a cabin. Rent that shit out or something. 😂
I wish Tyler Perry broke down what they were fighting about in the first place. This was just out of nowhere, considering how the first film ended. However, I think that Tyler wanted Janet to use this as an opportunity to express her grief after Michael died. All I could think about was Janet suffering, and not the character Patricia.
Maybe it went back to the baby’s death and Gavin wanting more children and Patricia didn’t? Gavin kept pressing her to have another baby and she wouldn’t give in (like Diane in the first movie). I know firsthand how wanting a baby and your spouse doesn’t can cause a HUGE problem that many times leaves to divorce.
@@missmisher I think it would've been a good plot line if Patricia had another baby and was NOT adjusting as well as Gavin would. And instead of the book money being a discussion, it would've been custody of the new child.
@@jessicanoelle2012jp The divorce rates of parents of a dead child or one that goes missing are through the roof. Tyler did a horrible job filling in the blanks of Pat and Gavin’s story in between the 2 movies, but I’m sure their son left a huge void in their household that they couldn’t fill.
Tbh I feel like pat and Gavin always had a terrible relationship… worse then everyone’s…. they never really discussed any problems they had and it came to a head in this movie
Exactly like people would say Marcus and anglea had the worse relationship but at least they talked about they problems, maybe not in a healthy way but they didn't avoid it.
Ya'll tripping. Gavin embarrassed Patricia, blamed her for their child's passing, tried to take all her money and damn near drowned her with alcohol meanwhile taking no accountability for anything. She was right to snap
To be clear, I don't think either of their snapping had anything to do with being right or wrong. We agree that he was wrong to take all the money in retaliation for her being unwilling to share it. But what about all that Patricia did?
I disagree with the idea that Pat is blaming Shelia for the money issues with Troy. She's not blaming her, she's trying to get her to understand where Troy's mind might be or how he might be feeling. I can't speak for all men. But as someone who grew up with a dad who was use to being the major breadwinner in the house, I will say his worry definitely showed when funds were tight and he wasn't sure how long it would be before he would work again. He'd become moody and short-tempered and he definitely wasn't trying to do anything or go anywhere that would cost more money. I think that's all Pat is saying. As for how she knows how Troy is feeling, she's a psychiatrist, right? She's probably had male patients who found themselves in similar situations as Troy, so my guess would be that she's pulling from past experience. Not saying she's, 100% right about Troy, but she probably has SOME knowledge of men in his situation if she's worked with them in the past.
@@curtis75black As I said, I wasn't trying to speak for all men, because I can't. I can only give my experience of the one I have actually lived and know the best, my dad.
Maybe this is a horror movie... Pattie is having a psychotic break. Pattie was successful therapist and a budding author and married with a kid. Her story line is real. Even pre-marriage, She was having mental issues and her coping mechanism was escapism into writing. At first she was managing pretty ok till her son died. She started to write a world where she could be in control. Like the wizard of oz, the people in her friend circle are people she came in contact with at the past hospital visits she has briefly frequented. The world she built is shattering... she is spiraling...she wants a divorce and husband is blindsided and hurt. The incident during divorce proceeding happen and the she gets pissed (on top of the other unhandled issues). The confrontation of hubby and him dying is real... but it good old Pattie fashion she duct tapes those emotions/issues in box in her heart and keeps living and faking... then she then meets the rock... the next man to deal with all her unresolved mess.
@@therealmarlonbellamyonly in here, yet he was the level headed one in the 1st film Continuity issues is being nice to describe the characters in this film
The Gavin Patricia fight was so weird bc he was initially characterized as a good character, with flaws and then ofc Tyler Perry just reduced him to the typical villain husband character Tyler has in all his movies, and then the Patricia, the battered betrayed wife, snaps and goes crazy, and Gavin gets his comeuppance, very much diary of a mad black woman
Here is my quick (but lengthening) take on the characters or the couples I should say: Angela & Marcus: Both of them deserved each other. 😂 Marcus knew Angela was crazy from the start and she knew Marcus was full of it. Terry & Diane: Terry tried to control Diane because he didn't feel like an adequate man in his marriage or household. They always say be careful what you ask for though. She had that baby and became hot in the skirt. Diane was wrong for messing with Phil but in her mind since she gave Terry what he wanted then she looked for something for herself. Mind you that she told Angela that she was happy Terry finally got his son. She didn't want another child, she wanted a career. In my mind, Phil represents what she truly wants; A powerful and flourishing career with little to no major responsibilities. Sheila & Troy: Troy ass should have put his foot down when it came to their finances. Why in the hell would you take a trip to the Bahamas if you can barely pay your bills?? But the mortgage in Colorado is due?? DA FUQ SIR? 😂 Sale that general store and rent the cabin out or sale that as well. Sheila was an ass in this movie. She brought all that baggage from her relationship with Mike and dumped it all on Troy. The scene where he wanted to just go to sleep and she wouldn't let him, she became a watered down Mike. She started gaslighting him for not touching her when that man was clearly depressed. Then to turn around and ask your abusive ex for a favor was just wrong. Shame. Pat & Gavin: At the end of the day, BOTH of them lost a child. Gavin wanted her to grieve in the exact same way he did and that was unfair of him. Especially since the child's death was an indirect result of her not bucking him in. Bro should have gotten her some serious help. Patricia was constantly aiming for perfection. And people like that tend to handle imperfection in irrational manner. After years of not being able to perfect what was tarnished, (her marriage) she decided to throw it away. Perfect Patti had to get rid of the imperfect husband. But remember. They lost their child. Both should have been in therapy and in the Good Book after something that tragic. And Gavin should've left Pat's book money alone.
I was too excited when this popped up because for me this movie is really about Pat and Gavin for the most part. We got so little of them in the first movie in retrospect so I feel like watching the sequel for the first time was so shocking but at the same time like you guys pointed out the signs were there from the beginning.
First, the actors were too good in this, I felt so bad for Gavin and Pat and conflicted because they both did a lot of wrong, more Gavin near the end. Gavin was doing WAY too much with the physical abuse but it seemed that after so many years he was desperate to get any real and honest reaction from Pat. The healthy thing would've been for these two to move on like 7 years ago. This kinda ruined both characters for me and nothing was really resolved cus Gavin died so I never rewatch WDIM2.
No, it wasn't Janet Jackson's character's fault that her husband died. It was her husband's fault. The only reason she acted out like that was because Gavin had gotten drunk and basically overpowered/attacked her and then burned their dead son's pictures. He got her all riled up and hurt. So that's why she ended up acting kinda crazy after that. It's not Patricia's fault.
@@ninjanibba4259 true however if she did not show up to his office there is a pretty good chance he wouldn't have driven off in a huff got distracted and being t-boned by the truck. That's all I'm saying
I think that I have an explanation or 2 for that: 1. When the 1st WDIGM movie came out, it was number 2 behind The Rock's movie "The Game Plan". 2. That scene was very similar to "Waiting To Exhale", when Angela Bassett met Wesley Snipes at a bar.

Gavin is messy for the simple fact that he married Patricia and she’s messiest one in the group with her unethical , rigged game she called an experiment.. i’m confused as to why her license was revoked
Gavin was being messy he knows how Mike is and Shelia being happy had nothing to do with him throwing in that Troy didn’t have a job because look at the response Mike had once Gavin said that 😭
14 years later Great breakdown guys! What I wanna add is that even after death Gavin was right lol She do be using him for her books. It is not fair she got to keep everything AND make money off of this man after he done died. Tyler Perry really did these characters an injustice by not giving much detail about why these characters are the way they are. For instance, why is Patricia so closed off? Does it have to deal with childhood trauma? Was she always like this? How did Gavin just magically turn into, not only an alcoholic, but an abusive one? And then turned around and went to work like everything is fine? I would assume that once an alcoholic breaks their sobriety especially when due to emotional turmoil, they would spiral, so for him to be sober on work when she showed up was weird to me. And lastly, what the hell caused her and Gavin to even enter into a relationship. All we’ve seen since the 1st movie is exactly what Gavin said in this one, she tolerates him. In their “moonlit” fit he alludes to things being bad before their son died and earlier in the movie when they were talking bout how she can go crazy, they talked about her catching him cheating. The question is: When the hell were they happy?
Honestly, I got the sense that Patricia married Gavin to fit in with her friends and keep her superiority status in the group. I lowkey think the titles apply to Patricia because she doesn't seem to like stuff unless she can get something positive from it (material for a book, society marriage status)
I felt like Patricia shouldn't have showed up at Gavin's job to embarrass him like that. It's like what's that about. Maybe Diane told Phil, "Look, we can't communicate and/or hangout anymore. My husband is best friends with my other friend you're representing". Correct me if I'm wrong, Phil might've awarded the money to Gavin, and Patricia got upset. She might have caused him to get in the car, chasing him, and the crash happened. However, Gavin could've looked both ways, before entering traffic. In the previous review, Heit said that Patricia killed Gavin, I was like "Damm!" LOL, I didn't mean to laugh at that, it's the way he said it. Patricia needs to go therapy, and not be a therapist. She shouldn't bottle things up. Be expressive, sometimes an individual should let people in. The more a person holds things in, he or she will burst.
I love your commentary! Here is my two dollars about this movie. First, Tyler Perry did not give us any background on Gavin and Patricia, causing the audience to speculate a backstory and leaving plot holes that a semi truck can drive through. After ignoring all that, my theory is that Gavin and Patricia robbed each other during the entire marriage. Patricia robbed Gavin of 14 years of his LIFE that he could have been happy (and had a family). I don't think Gavin really wanted the money; he just wanted to take something valuable away from her because he believed that Patricia took something from him. Secondly, I don't see where they were ever in love with each other. Gavin was right; she tolerated him. The other couples in the films had their problems, but you can see where they LOVE each other. Patricia and Gavin presented the perfect picture, perfect life, perfect couple. The only way to keep that charade alive for fourteen years is not to let anyone inside to see who she truly is or what her marriage is like. I would argue that her friends(even Diane) don't truly know the real Patricia. You can see that when Patricia gets a little snappy with Diane after she heard them arguing in the Bahamas and Diane was just trying to comfort Patricia. The cynical part of me thinks that it was no longer profitable to remain married to Gavin. She probably figured that my friends marriages are so screwed that I will always have material to publish more books. I am only half kidding about that. One last thing, in the first movie, did Gavin win some sort of award or huge contract for his architectural firm in the first movie? Assuming that Patricia did finance his business or the down payment, Gavin was successful. They both benefited from that. Gavin was not a deadbeat. That is what married couples do; they support each other physically, emotionally and financially. Gavin should have divorced her when she refused to have another child. It was clear that she didn't love him anymore. I am sorry for the thesis! Whew! Your videos are great! They make me percieve these movies in a new way.
You explained this to a TEE!!! that's exactly why I NEVER watched it AGAIN!!! She was being selfish and that book was apart of martial finances. Had it been his book she would've expected financial gain JUST BECAUSE she was his wife!!!!! I thgt this movie was crap!!!
No one knows the real Gavin either. Just from that one scene where he burned their pictures and was drinking. Who knows how many times he drinks or had been drunk and been nasty towards her with those 14yrs of marriage. I feel if you're a therapist and something bad happens to you , you don't feel like you have time for yourself to grieve because you have to fix everyone else's problems because it's your job. As well Gavin wanted her to grieve like he was and that's unfair because everyone including married couples grieve differently since they're after all still individuals. Most marriages fail if a death of a child happens, just too much for one or both partners to bear. Just in the first film it made seem like they would be moving forward after having that communication at home so its weird how spilled over into the next film. Both movies didn't want to elaborate more about this couple like they did the others. But, It's not just Pat's fault, it doesn't always take one to sink a marriage. They're both flawed and both needed to therapy and turned into each other for support ,and it would've helped a lot if they involved their friends as well.
Say whatever you want about the movie (I personally hated it compared to the first), you gotta hand it to Tyler Perry for using this as an outlet for Janet to unleash her anger over Michael's death. That's a real friend, right there ❤️
This was such a fantastic breakdown! I randomly stumbled on this channel when looking for, "Why Did I Get Married" clips & found this & it was so interesting that I listened to the whole thing! You guys just got a new subscriber from me, really looking forward to watching your other videos 😊❤
1.7 million You two always make my day. Another great coverage. Patricia definitely did not deserve a happy ending. I concur with your vision of her being in a therapist's office getting further healing. Too many Patricia-like people walk around unchecked, living in delusions, swearing they are ready for relationships when they aren't even ready to face all of who they are. And like you said, we didn't experience her overall vibe before Noah died. She may have been an even keel soul once🤷♀️
The thing I hated about this movie is the ending. You mean to tell me that Patricia lost her son the same way she lost her husband and you expect me to believe that she healed enough to potentially find another man. After we know from both movies that she does not deal with her emotions at all. We know that she doesn't heal. We know that she doesn't seek help so why would you expect me to believe that after some time passes that she healed at all. 1.7 million
I actually always stay to the end of you guys this video so I like that you threw in this little tidbit for us to show you two that we're listening because the content your creating reveals how much goes into the finished product. The dedication and growth is evident. It's like unwrapping Christmas presents lol.
I also think Patricia and Gavin represent that couple that never should have got married but stay connected due to a child. Some people go through the motions and are able to push through because they like being parents and the family unit. So when Noah died like u guys said it just all came to ahead. There was nothing mutual to keep them together anymore. With the child there they could hide the lack of affection behind being busy with the child or worried about his needs. But without him they had to face each other and realize they didn’t love each other like that or enough to stay married
Anytime there is a divorce and money becomes the sticky point I think things should be split regardless how it was made. To me how can you put a price on support (time, energy, emtional), time spent away from the home for that career/endevor (and the potential damage to the relationship due to that)?
I’m just re-watching these before I go to bed, but I have a brand new question. If the couples still did their retreat, even after Gavin’s death, do y’all think that the gang would be as accepting of Patricia’s new man the way they were so accepting of Trina and Mike at the first retreat and the second retreat?
I think Gavin deserves that half of that other account period. No royalties after. And yes he is doing it cause he is hurt, she betrayed him for years. But he also has a right to it
4:21 I think the drama at the table on the first movie indicated a layer of brutal honesty being peeled back, so that’s why Sheila may think since all of that went down, shiid, we can talk about everythang🤷🏾♂️😂
I’m glad y’all finally dropped this. I watched this sequel just for y’all’s commentary. Tyler Perry is a menace lol this movie was all over the place especially the ending.
Ok, here's my take on "cheating when just (casually) dating": bottom line, if there's an understanding that you and the other person are exclusive and either person strays outside that promise/ deal/ relationship/ etc., it's cheating regardless. Personally, if me and the other person have gone out on a handful of dates and the other person goes out with someone else, it would hurt but I can't be explosively mad because it's too early in the relationship UNLESS there really was an establishment we were committed or committing to each other. It's like Tyler perry's other movie Acrimony where Taraji P. Henson's character lost her motherloving mind over her man. Yes, he made it sound like they were heading towards exclusivity, but if I recall that was also her filling in the blanks of what she wanted from him too. So when he cheated (to which he WAS wrong and I'll call it cheating here simply based on his actions, not his words), it's not like she just got mad... she got violent! And this movie is making sound like "Dr." Pat was more in line with having outbursts back then versus talking with Gavin or... let's be real, if she was that hurt, just leaving period. So basically, if there's an understanding or a strong impression you're in a committed relationship, anything outside of that is cheating even if you're not married.
Janet is a Taurus like me, and I honestly see some of myself in Patricia. Probably why Janet played it so well. Our sign is very close to the chest with our true feelings lol
@26:50 I think Gavin brought it up because maybe it's always been hinted among the group that the reason Sheila put up with Mike's mess is because of his money. So maybe it was an unintentional dig a Troy, but a shot taken at Mike to say, "Sheila really loves him and we know it's not about money".
23:51 I have to agree with her here. It was a dig to Troy cuz that was irrelevant to the question. He asked how Sheila was and if she asked about him. Troy not having a job was not something that should’ve even been brought up. Especially since he’s not part of the friend group. Gavin was being messy boots lol.
Also the messaging at the end of the movie was very weird, it’s basically communicating that if you don’t fix you’re decaying marriage you’ll end up miserable and alone? Which is a strange sentiment bc it’s typically the opposite lol
I agree with Cheri, Gavin was definitely messy for revealing Troy doesn't work. I don't think he was revealing it in a way for it to get twisted and used in Mike's favor, but he mentioned it to be messy towards Mike to say hey dawg dhe is being fulfilled inna way you couldnt according to what she told Patricia. That was MESSY 😂 And also people should definitely go on and assume we tell our spouse's damn neae everything our friends tell us 😂 if i dont tell my husband something its because i forgot to 😂😂😂
I remember when I was really young my dad took my brother and I to the movies to see this. I still remember the last scene when they showed the Rock everyone started screaming and cheering 🤣🤣 1.7 million
@1:13:00 I think they should split the book profits, just not 50% maybe 60% but he's entitled to some of the money because even his emotional support, his life being used in the books, etc...should warrant him some compensation.
I think Angela is jealous of Marcus success, while in the last movie emasculating him for not having one, Patricia had a few good points in this movie, but she did go off the rails
I think the real thing that happened is that he was never really forgiven from his previous transgressions. She had more money than him at one point. So she likely didn’t want to divorce and have to pay him/his bm that he was cheating with.
$1.7 million - The read yall gave on Patricia the last 15min is perfect😂. I remember seeing this in middle school, and even my classmate said, "No one deserves cancer," referring to Mike and it also makes me think of how the main character of Confessions of a Marriage Counselor, contracted HIV. I feel like Tyler revenge plots are pretty shallow and the recipients recieve real life tragedies that he pushes as justice(?). Its kinda weird tbh. Why does Gavin have to die in a freak accident because he basically wanted to fight for a marriage that his wife didn't want? Tyler's dialogues seems to always be split between an oblivious politically correct male and a scorned, hopeless romantic female both with a dash of homophobia and sprinkle of religion. P.s. I also like the commenters' theory of Gavin possibly, intentionally unaliving himself. It makes me look at his actions and the events from the time Patricia announced the divorce, leading to the point of his demise a little differently..WHAT IF, all along Gavin had been a study case for Patricia?? I know he mentioned it during the debacle at the divorce settlement, but what if Gavin was actually hinting at something Patricia knew about as if he had been her human guinea pig. Patricia had probably been diagnosing Gavin for years BUT never gave him proper medical attention nor medicine for it. He was a ticking time bomb that she MAY have been waiting to go off. What if her books and lectures are really a facade in which she a serial manipulater that has crazy interest in mental illnesses. Maybe Patricia doesn't open up to anyone bc at the end of the day, the people in her life are nothing but liabilities to her case studies...yall Im on a tangent, lol
Honestly, besides Angela, everyone is completely different from the first movie, like someone body swapped them or something It’s too drastic and nonsensical for the characters and the endings they had in the 1st
I lived with my two married best friends and my other best friend before. It was cool in the beginning however when they argued I went for walk or put in my earphones, it wasn't my business, I care about all of them to this day however the argument didn't concern me
Patricia was fighting the guilt she had over Noah's death all those years then stupidly confronted gavin at his office with that cake then got him killed
@@RavenAveira HE MIGHT HAVE BEEN DRINKING BUT 'PERFECT' PATCAUSED IT BY NOT ACKNOWLEDGING THEIR SON'S DEATH & THEN EMBARRASING HIM IN FRONT OF THEIR FRIENDS BY ANNOUNCING THEY'RE GETTING DIVORCED & ACTING LIKE THEY'RE GOING TO BE FRIENDS AFTERWARDS. 1.7 Million! That was a great breakdown. When ya’ll mentioned how Patricia said that having another baby wasn’t going to happen, it made me think of Diane tying her tubes behind Terry’s back. I bet that Patricia did the same thing to ensure that she never got pregnant again. 🤔 I couldn’t stand Patricia in the first movie, but I really couldn’t stand her in this one. She hurt Gavin so bad. I was hurt for him when he said that he’d been begging her to love him. If she knew she didn’t want more children and never had any intentions of loving Gavin the way he deserved, she should have divorced him after they returned from the Colorado retreat and left Gavin live (literally and physically).
I liked the movie all the way up until it became "The Patricia Agnew Story" at the end. Also that scene where Patricia and Gavin are fighting in the dark is taken right out of Madea's Family Reunion.
I dont get why it was wrong of Gavin to blame Patricia for their son's death in a moment of weakness. It was very odd that Patricia said, "I didn't know you blamed me" even tho she blames herself. Especially since he never told her, it had to be revealed. Which tells me that even though he was also grieving, he didnt want to make Patricia feel bad even though he felt it. Which I believe is very kind actually and indicative of forgiveness. What he couldn't forgive was Patricia acting like their son didnt exist and grieving with him properly. She admitted she was rushing and careless and that put her son's safety at risk and consequently killed him. "She didnt cause the rainstorm." True, but complacency kills. She accepted responsibility for her role in the accident that killed her son. Why was it wrong for Gavin to, while freshly grieving, blame her? I feel like if the roles were reversed, ppl would support Patricia for blaming Gavin. Like "You killed her child! You need to accept that" and yadda yadda. I'm not a grief specialist, I admit, but this always confused me. I'm not saying she doesnt deserve to be forgiven.
I know from 1st hand experience, if a marriage is not on a strong foundation before a tragedy occurs, it will not withstand the trauma. Pat & Gavin were probably already on shaky ground. The loss of their son and Pat finding out that Gavin blamed her for his death was the straw that broke the camel’s back.
1.7 Million. Yesssss i’ve been waiting for this! I recently rewatched this movie and was shocked/disturbed by the drunker Gavin scene. I couldn’t wait to hear your guys’ take on it.
1:12:37 Was gavin wrong to ask for the money yes because I don’t think he truly wanted it he just wanted to pick a fight because she was going through the motions of this divorce like he was nothing to her … they did all that and Patricia got his cut in the end 😭
I think Gavin was genuinely surprised that Patricia was holding out the book money from being split. Especially because she used him and their relationship as a reference point. Gavin was amicable until this point.
This was the beginning to Tyler Perry plays were notorious for men with no shirts on. I know Janet channeled the death of her brother when she went off.
Honey I'll never forget the reaction in the movie theater to the Rock at the end 😂😂😂 all the womenz was clapping and throwin they drawls at the screen 😂 and I'll never forgive Tyler Perry for not making part 3 but i guess the rocks fee was too high by the time he wanted to make the next one 😂😂😂
$1.7 MILLION. In my opinion Gavin was being messy by telling the the guys that Troy couldn’t find a job. That’s why Troy was in his room while they were outside in the Bahamas because Troy had front row seats to their messiness in the first movie & he didn’t want him in his business. Gavin was a good guy but the death of his & Patty’s son & their divorce sent him over the edge. Patty facilitated Gavin’s death. If she wouldn’t have gone to his job the accident would’ve never happened. You guys should do a poll on who’s the messiest crew. The Best or Why Did I Get Married. Tyler Perry needs to do a prequel titled Should I Get Married.
I feel like the ending was rushed and was just weird. She was still a dam know it all and I will never understand to this day why they dragged the Rock into this foolishness.
I feel as though Gavin took his anger out on her because of the car accident that killed their child and I say karma is a dish best served cold so at the end of the 3rd movie he died in a bad car crash ps this is not real life it’s a movie he’s still living till this day 🙌🏾
as a 25 year old... they bringing signs back. literally ppl will ask for ur sign and not date certain signs ... at this point i aint telling no one my birthday just my age 😂
I wonder if Tyler Perry choosing to have both Patricia’s son and her husband die in car crashes were somehow intentional symbolism that her character drives the people she loves the most away from her? However, in re-watching why did I get married? There were so many plot holes that I picked apart in the first movie alone that I somehow find it difficult to believe that he would be that meticulous to be that intentionally specific.
I feel like Gavin probably went to Pat like “have you heard from Sheila lately? How are they doing?” and Pat was probably like “oh , their good. Sheila seems happy. She said the job search is a little tough on Troy, though.” She probably wasn’t thinking that he’d run that information back to Mike because on the surface it’s really not that big of a deal. Idk if he was INTENTIONALLY being messy but considering they KNOW Mike to be a bone collector, Sheila’s business or anyone else’s should have never came out of Gavin’s mouth in front of him.
Omggg I enjoyed this!!!! But Cheri when you said it should’ve showed her going into therapy I totally agree!!! To me it would’ve been more realistic and effective plus it would’ve shown some growth even though it resulted in Gavin’s death 🥺 I’m writing my own version of this franchise where Gavin didn’t die💀 because it really sucked that he did and I wanted my first chapter to basically show my readers what ended up happening soon after the accident. Like right after the accident I wanted to show Pat going to therapy and saying what you said lol. And to also show the others with their problems that they clearly didn’t resolve, well at least introduce the problems and give them an idea of things that took place within that time before I go to the present time since I’m making it a year after since like in the film it was a year after the accident. She definitely won’t be all happy in my book💀🤣😭 at least not for a GOOD while. It’s definitely going to be a lot of tension and interesting especially since Gavin didn’t die in my version. So much will change!! Like the personalities. Terry’s has changed a lot giving the affair like he’s paranoid and very insecure now, he’s not as outspoken like he once was especially when it comes to Dianne, he’s still a dang detective though💀 and to add the icing on the cake, we’ve talked about how Dianne is always messing up, well Terry isn’t gonna be all goody two shoes anymore lol. I’m thinking he starts acting crazy like hiring a PI to spy on Dianne and theirs a lot of character development with some of the other characters, Pat especially. I feel we should’ve gotten her growth this film but sadly we didn’t🤦🏽♀️. I have so many ideas that I feel will really piece this whole thing together. I love Tyler and his movies but he did lack in some ways with this film so I’m creating my own reality of it🤣❤️
Gavin shouldn't have died because that's an opportunity to help them work through things. They could have seen where they really stood of he had survivors and had to work his way back to health.
If Patricia practiced what she preached to everyone her splitting the book money shouldn’t be a problem. Patricia was a sick doctor this whole series 😂
Exactly!! If the shoe was on the other foot she would've thgt she was entitled because she was the wife!!! I watched this movie once and it was ENOUGH for me especially after the tranny in the cake scene.🤦🤦
$800k-$1.7 Million... great breakdown y'all. I hated the ending of this movie when she met The Rock. Idk why either lol cuz I like The Rock as an actor. I just thought it was weird and out of place that they even had him in the movie🤷🏾♂️
As a Capricorn, yes I do take astrology seriously up to the point that I refuse to date water signs after all the horrible experiences I’ve had with them 😅
When it came to her going off about what money she put in for his success i think she was responding to the fact he felt entitled to her book money. The same way he was like that book wouldn’t exist without him and his ideas she’s saying he wouldn’t be where he is without her. She didn’t ask for anything involving his career or things that she supported him through but he is and that’s probably the tipping point. Like how are you going to ask for payment for supporting me as your partner especially when they both supported each other’s success.
I think the problem with her character is that Tyler Perry couldn't make Janet Jackson a terrible person she needs to get her come up and as much as possible so she will play the victim even though she's not the victim
I think it was unintentional messiness. Gavin was trying to make sure Mike knew Sheila was happy without him even though her man ain't got all the things Mike thought made him better Troy. His money/things. It came out before he really thought about the repercussions
just a quick tidbit about the video I just re-watched my opinion on the Car Crash Scene I noticed a key detail that might explain how he was hit. just before the Crash There is a Silver car that is passing in the opposite direction the truck was so basically being that Gavin's car was So low to the ground it was not in View from the truck driver's Perspective as he is sitting above the Silver Car that blocked Gavin's car hence why it didn't even slow down or Slam breaks. Even Gavin doesn't see 😢it because he only sees the Silver car he is trying to get passed. thanks for being so great at what you two are creating. I hope this makes sense to y'all too.
If I were Patricia I’d prob consider offing myself. Damn I k*led my child and husband unintentionally but intentionally is too much to bear. I WILL say I think if Gavin didn’t provoke her with taking all the money she wouldn’t have gone on a spiral and shown up to his job. It’s a series of unfortunate events.
Gavin looks like he was actually driving straight into the trees before he gets hit. He hadn't turned the wheel at all so he definitely would have had he not have gotten hit
14 YEARS… $800K… $1.7MILLION (yeah I caught y’all 🤣) But you two know I watch all of these ALL THE WAY THROUGH. Now for my takes… Yes, Gavin is messy in a very subtle, passive way. When he told Mike that Troy was jobless was one instance. When he made that crack at Patricia finally agreeing with him was another. Him saying he doesn’t understand women when he’s only really referring to his own is another. Gavin had a way of revealing things and then covering it up real quick to hide what he just said, which makes him messy. His messiness turned into abusive behavior once the drinking began and when he was sober, he tried to act like the nice guy. But I caught it when he mentioned how she never cried about their son, how he would physically stop her from leaving a room, that’s all abuse which makes him a bad person. She doesn’t want to be with you anymore, you’re hurt by that so you lash out. As for Patricia, I understand where all the vitriol for her comes from. I honestly thought they should’ve amicably divorced after the 1st movie because it was obvious that Pat didn’t want to talk to anyone about their loss, whereas Gavin needed to. But when we get here and they’re arguing all the time, the problem is that Gavin is truly miserable and wants Pat to be miserable with him. She didn’t want that so SHE made the decision to divorce him, hence him being shocked. Him asking for half her book money was to punish her for not wanting to go through their misery together. Now if I was Patricia, instead of outright saying no, I would’ve negotiated a percentage of the book money. Not half, I maybe would’ve started at 15-20%, but not gone higher than 35% because at the end of the day, she did conduct the studies and write the books. However I do FULLY AGREE that Patricia needed to be on someone’s couch at least twice a week
@36:30 I think what she said was right. I fl don’t think she was blaming Sheila only but the whole group. If they would have dealt with Mike for what he did in the first movie, he wouldn’t still be around or he wouldn’t feel comfortable to just show up.
One thing I loved about Patricia is when she went off, SHE WENT OFF !! Tore up the whole house. Peace to Tyler Perry for letting “JANET” get all that anger and anguish out from the passing of her Beloved Brother.
I completely agree.
I heard the scene where she cries on the steps she had lines. But she was so heartbroken about Michael dying that she couldn't get the lines. So the ladies just hugged her
That's what made the scene feel even more genuine was knowing she was grieving her brother
That's from the emotional she felt from her brothers death, Micheal ❤🙏🏾💞 that scene was on point emotional 😭🙏🏾
Yup!
Patricia's actions and her pride caused her entire family to die in car wrecks TWICE. She was wrong AF for not getting the help she needed to navigate her negative emotions especially given that she was an entire therapist/counselor.
💯
Exactly! I was just discussing this with my family.
100%
Ok, let me push back on this. Gavin was on some BS when it came to the Divorce agreements. Trying to get half of her $$$ from her work to me as a man was trifling and to her ….triggering !! I see what Tyler tried to do with the scene with all is far and shoe on the other foot stuff but HOMIE…leave her $$$ alone and move on smoothly.
@@curtis75blackand let’s not forget the abuse that night he was drunk I woulda spazzed out too
Gavin was definitely being messy on the boat spilling the tea about Troy being jobless. He should have left it at they're both happy
Yes Gavin was dead wrong for telling Mike that Troy didn’t have a job. The way it was delivered made me doubt that it was a genuine slip up.
And terry does virtue signal !
They’re all bad friends minus Angela and Sheila.
That was Marcus
@@BellesViewNaw Angela a terrible friend too. Anybody and they momma would have to be around her when she’s drunk and arguing all the time. Hell she didn’t even tell the truth to Sheila because she liked Sheila, she told the truth to Sheila because she hates Mike.
She hated Mike more than she liked Sheila.
Troy is the “new guy “ so they may not feel any loyalty to him as they might to Mike.
Patricia went OFF. It’s actually kinda scary.
And pretty sad to watch too knowing that was Janet letting out her anger and pain over Michael’s death.
Sheila is a caring and compassionate woman.
Sheila was definitely feeling herself in the 2nd movie !! She forgot where she came from. 😂😂😂
Yes!!! She got Troy and then got her butt up on her back... 😆
Shiela was kind of being an a$$ in the sequel
@@VidWatcher01nah troy was. He was acting aggressive with Sheila and yelling at her.
Straight up!!😂
I wish Tyler Perry broke down what they were fighting about in the first place. This was just out of nowhere, considering how the first film ended. However, I think that Tyler wanted Janet to use this as an opportunity to express her grief after Michael died. All I could think about was Janet suffering, and not the character Patricia.
It stem from the loss of their son. It was discussed in the first movie
@blueiris1542 right but I thought it was resolved
Exactly
1.7 mill .
Cause it was and she didn’t deal with it
He definitely doused TF out of her with that bottle.
Your 2nd paragraph is basically all men with morals . I’m not trying to hang out without funds !!!
Gavin was 100% being messy on that boat. He did not have to mention him not having a job 😂
Gavin was a low key instigator.
@@therealmarlonbellamyonly in here, yet he was the level headed one in the 1st film
Continuity issues is being nice to describe the characters in this film
The Gavin Patricia fight was so weird bc he was initially characterized as a good character, with flaws and then ofc Tyler Perry just reduced him to the typical villain husband character Tyler has in all his movies, and then the Patricia, the battered betrayed wife, snaps and goes crazy, and Gavin gets his comeuppance, very much diary of a mad black woman
Here is my quick (but lengthening) take on the characters or the couples I should say:
Angela & Marcus: Both of them deserved each other.
I think she unintentionally caused Gavin's death by antagonizing him, chasing him outside
We’re just not gonna blame the driver eh?

The Fact She Got Her Husband Killed And Got With The Rock At The End Was Crazy
I think that I have an explanation or 2 for that:
1. When the 1st WDIGM movie came out, it was number 2 behind The Rock's movie "The Game Plan".
2. That scene was very similar to "Waiting To Exhale", when Angela Bassett met Wesley Snipes at a bar.
Why do TP always does that n his films smh..its has a good looking man at end.

I agree like TP just said F Gavin and how he feels
I remember a review saying it's a horror movie with the killer smiling at the end.
Gavin is messy for the simple fact that he married Patricia and she’s messiest one in the group with her unethical , rigged game she called an experiment.. i’m confused as to why her license was revoked
wasn’t revoked*
Gavin was being messy he knows how Mike is and Shelia being happy had nothing to do with him throwing in that Troy didn’t have a job because look at the response Mike had once Gavin said that 😭
@3:24, I agree Cherie. That’s a subject you don’t even mention anymore unless Pat walks in Pregnant !!
Right!!!

Great breakdown guys!
Cheating before marriage is still cheating lol
Especially during a engagement or relationship
If you cheat in a relationship, you will cheat in a marriage. They are the same thing, one just have legal paperwork.
Hmmm... That's a great question. did Pat and Gavin ever really love each other?

You two always make my day.
I think pat made Gavin believe they were going to work things out… that’s why he was so shocked and hurt when she told about the divorce
That makes sense...

I actually always stay to the end of you guys this video so I like that you threw in this little tidbit for us to show you two that we're listening because the content your creating reveals how much goes into the finished product. The dedication and growth is evident. It's like unwrapping Christmas presents lol.
You're the best!

I agree... The cheating is based on the agreement of exclusivity that you have with the other person, regardless of if you are married.
Janet Jackson was also grieving her brother Michael’s death in real life
Janet is a Taurus like me, and I honestly see some of myself in Patricia.
I was so excited to see this! I love this channel. I hollered when Heit asked, "Why these dudes ain't got no clothes on?" 😂
$ 1.7 Million
😆
It also makes her insecure bc if he’s successful then other women see that too and he may be more tempted to cheat
Totally agree about Shelia. Completely different from the first movie. She was so meek and humble.
Honestly, besides Angela, everyone is completely different from the first movie, like someone body swapped them or something
It’s too drastic and nonsensical for the characters and the endings they had in the 1st
I lived with my two married best friends and my other best friend before. It was cool in the beginning however when they argued I went for walk or put in my earphones, it wasn't my business, I care about all of them to this day however the argument didn't concern me
I 💙d How Gavin Admitted EXACTLY what Y'all were Eluding to❗️..."I WAS ALWAYS YOUR 'CASE STUDY'‼️".
The “you don’t deserve a rock.” Loool
😆
Patricia was fighting the guilt she had over Noah's death all those years then stupidly confronted gavin at his office with that cake then got him killed
No offense but after what he did to her when he got drunk he deserved that ending, cuz he was mostly in the right up till that point.
I couldn’t stand Patricia in the first movie, but I really couldn’t stand her in this one.
Ohhh I never considered that she may have ensured that there's wouldn't be another child!
Both Galvin and Patricia are broken to the brink of insanity.
I liked the movie all the way up until it became "The Patricia Agnew Story" at the end. Also that scene where Patricia and Gavin are fighting in the dark is taken right out of Madea's Family Reunion.
I think Patricia was fighting to keep up the facade of being perfect or act like nothing is wrong. @1:46:10
This is my movie. I love this channel i cant wait for yall to break down the characters from the Family that Prey ❤❤❤
Y’all these wings on Gavin 😭😂😂😂
Honey I'll never forget the reaction in the movie theater to the Rock at the end 😂😂😂 all the womenz was clapping and throwin they drawls at the screen 😂 and I'll never forgive Tyler Perry for not making part 3 but i guess the rocks fee was too high by the time he wanted to make the next one 😂😂😂
I’m cackling right now at Heit talking about “YOU SHUT UP, PHIL!” 👹👹
1:14:16 i think Gavin‘s point was: look how you act about your money, but you won’t act like that behind our marriage, or behind me.
I feel as though Gavin took his anger out on her because of the car accident that killed their child and I say karma is a dish best served cold so at the end of the 3rd movie he died in a bad car crash ps this is not real life it’s a movie he’s still living till this day 🙌🏾
i would love it if you reviewed the movie obsessed with Beyoncé. I like your take on critiquing musicians acting
as a 25 year old... they bringing signs back. literally ppl will ask for ur sign and not date certain signs ... at this point i aint telling no one my birthday just my age 😂
I think that is ridiculous but people will do what they do.
So it's back in style now! 😂
I watched this with my mom in the theater and the ending made us so mad especially Janet skipping off with the Rock
Great job as always!
Do “for colored girls” next
God lol
That movie is TRAUMATIZING!!!!!
@@kendragreene5953 It’s meant to be watched once.

Welcome! ❤️
Regarding the Xtra money, they were the ones who said they were splitting in half. So, the xtra money is fair game.
@@HeitCheri That’s Exactly what I’m saying!! Their marriage was fixable😭 they just needed to get help
Most of those doctors are sick
$800k-$1.7 Million... great breakdown y'all. I hated the ending of this movie when she met The Rock. Idk why either lol cuz I like The Rock as an actor. I just thought it was weird and out of place that they even had him in the movie🤷🏾♂️
You hated the end because Patricia DIDN'T deserve the Rock after all that! 😆
@@HeitCheri that might be it🤣
As a Capricorn, yes I do take astrology seriously up to the point that I refuse to date water signs after all the horrible experiences I’ve had with them 😅
😂
It also didn’t help Michael had died while they were filming so he probably wanted to try but didn’t go through with it.
I think it was unintentional messiness. Gavin was trying to make sure Mike knew Sheila was happy without him even though her man ain't got all the things Mike thought made him better Troy. His money/things. It came out before he really thought about the repercussions
1:24:10 LMAOOO BROOOOO ME TOO. I really thought that was Patricia’s last night standing 😭
1.7 million. Well done review as always. Can’t wait to see the next movie you guys will review
just a quick tidbit about the video I just re-watched my opinion on the Car Crash Scene I noticed a key detail that might explain how he was hit. just before the Crash There is a Silver car that is passing in the opposite direction the truck was so basically being that Gavin's car was So low to the ground it was not in View from the truck driver's Perspective as he is sitting above the Silver Car that blocked Gavin's car hence why it didn't even slow down or Slam breaks. Even Gavin doesn't see 😢it because he only sees the Silver car he is trying to get passed. thanks for being so great at what you two are creating. I hope this makes sense to y'all too.
1.7 million!! As always love ❤️ y’all discussions!!
I'm not buying that one 😂

14 YEARS… $800K… $1.7MILLION (yeah I caught y’all 🤣)
But you two know I watch all of these ALL THE WAY THROUGH. Now for my takes…
Yes, Gavin is messy in a very subtle, passive way.
