I don’t know if you’ll read this, J. But here I go.
I talked to a lot about this. The current era with Western Developers and the Defensive Consumer Culture they created is more toxic. Through the 90s, I got bullied for being a gamer. When I see people in development teams like the ones at Sweet Baby Inc. in the industry, I think the bullies never left. Late in the 2000s, they noticed gaming wasn’t going anywhere when it started becoming part of Mainstream Entertainment. So they wanted in on the action. Now, here we are. These people in the current era don’t know what they are talking about. They make products that are more divisive than ever. They also keep using their devoted followers to prop them up thinking it is a win for their side of the fence. The reality is they have been making sure all gamers lose.
The early 2000s was a golden era for gaming. I even did a poll asking other gamers which era they prefer between the 2000s and 2010s. The majority voted 2000s cause it was better. Before GamerGate. Before the paywalls, live service requirements, and micro-tractions. We also had more diversity and inclusion than any of these modern day developers and consumers in the West could dream of in themselves. That’s brings me to Stellar Blade.
It’s resonating with people for lots of reasons. Fanservice. Beautiful character design. Fun gameplay showcased. No signs of agenda. It’s also confirmed to be having no micro-transactions. All the costumes showcased were confirmed to be in-game unlockables. The director wants this to be released as a complete game for everyone. Great reasons.
I also have to say. If Stellar Blade was released in the early 2000s, it would be considered a standard Hack n Slash. It wouldn’t compete with Devil May Cry, Bayonetta, or Team Ninja’s Ninja Gaiden Trilogy. The fact that it is being made in current year as is and it looks like sales may go through the roof (pre-orders just started), that shows it is the kind of product gamers like myself asked for cause it is harkening back to that golden era from the early 2000s we miss.
So I hope this game is great to play as and a massive success in sales. Gamers really need a massive win right now.
My guy every thing you said is absolutely true 👌! I can tell you grew up around my era lol so the younger generation wouldn’t even understand how that climate was at the time. To me Stellar Blade is gonna be used as an example of what gamers actually want in gaming moving forward. So the success of this game is crucial from a cultural standpoint. This will be a massive win if we support it. I just hope it’s good in the end 🤞
Oh I am giving full support. Already pre-ordered today. I also hoping for physical copies of the Deluxe Edition to be available (I prefer physical over digital).
I also have seen Kim Tae stated so much quality assurance about this being a complete experience on launch. There will be DLC, but that is par for the course now.
And Sir. You, myself, others need to keep showing support. Let’s also hope Tae and the rest of Shift Up hold the line. They know gamers like myself want something like this. I know we will never get that era of gaming from the 2000s back. The next best thing is to have a game like this remind others of those days. The days gamers like myself and you remember.
So let’s give this as much support as possible and pray that Tae and his crew keep this from being compromised between now and the release date.

It just made me realize why i like the new like a dragon game so much. After long stretch of western games that i played. Playing LAD is just so much breath of fresh air with all the beautiful female protagonists. Actually no they didn't fire the employee. It is extremely difficult to do so due to very strict labor law in South Korea.
Instead the company removed all the works (such as illustrations and 2D live images) they did from the games they were servicing (as per the request of gamers)
Needless to say those 'employee' (one of them wasn't even with the company at that time. She left the company years prior to this) didn't get to work on anything important.
And after they left the company, practically nobody hired them.

The only way that model could be distracting 'but not in a good way' is if you were physically repulsed by the female form. When you play 3rd person games, the avatar you control is centred to demark its physical location, yes, but not so much that the environment they're navigating is overshadowed. Even if the character is the most aestheically appealing design you've ever seen, the action on the screen(emimies, incoming projectiles, etc.) Instinctively pulls your attention to where it should be, the gamplay.

I was excited about Stellar Blade the very moment it was first shown off over 3 years ago when it was still known as Project Eve. I love a good Anime style action RPG with tough bosses. I'm hoping its a bit more on the souls like side of gameplay. I love those types of games.

I mean i can name s number of female characters that look amazing. Lets see; Bayonetta, Yuna from FFX, Kasumi from Dead or Alive 5, Shionne from Tales of Arise, the one main female chick from Scarlet Nexus, Namine from Kingdom Hearts, Aerith also from FFVII. Honestly Digital Foundary already lost my respect for them since the Hogswart fiasco. And now with Stellar Blade they completely lost my respect for them when it comes to any credibility. While I do not ignore the fact they do have actual skillsets when it comes to actually do a proper technical analysis work. But every of their comment to me already felt like full of shit. Considering they also do a lot of retrospective stuff relating to retro gaming and etc. I feel it is really insulting for them to do those content given how woke half of the peeps are in DF. They feel more like a disgrace to gaming history than actually embracing or appreciate
