Fury used this perfectly against wilder in the second fight. Had wilder in the corner and stayed safe with the in and out movement while throwing straight powerful punches.
As a rookie, studying many of your sparring tips has helped me improve a lot in my sparrings. Great job in sharing all your boxing knowledge, thank you 👏🏻
@@mohamedabd8285 It was only a comment section conversation where I asked why my punches and shoulders feel off after I do normal pushups between rounds in the heavybag
Hello to the best pound 4 pound boxing training on RUclips how are you doing Jason I want to congratulate you on all your success and you and your new channel that you have every time I see you do something good it makes me want to push myself that much harder to make myself better also much respect on what you do I really mean that matter fact it is 13 minutes to 2:00 in the morning and I have nothing else better to do so I'm going to work out please stay positive my friend and like you say eyes up chin down keep your eyes on the price
This is great advice and I long for the days I could do the in and out, unfortunately as a sparrer in his late 40s with knackered knees and a heavy weight to boot, I tend to struggle. My problem is in my head I'm a 20 year old featherweight, so my body doesn't really do what I think I'm doing. Still love sparring though, although not been able to in a long time through covid restrictions. Still the best coach on here by miles, just have to cherry pick what I can and can't do. All the best Coach.
Thank you! 🙏 this is starting to make so much sense. I feel as if what I’ve learned on the pads and what I do during sparring is completely different. I’m starting to feel I have lots more to learn regarding setup. Hopefully what you’ve presented here will help me apply my training into practice.
First sparring was humbling for me, too. Connected some jabs but took many crosses. I need to learn some defense, I guess. Also, my body shots didn't work. Failed to connect.
Thank you very much for this knowledge you share 🙏🙏 I watched your video yesterday, and tried the IN AND OUT tonight : I was surprised how effective this technique is ! 👍👍👍 It worked perfectly many times. Thanks again, from France 🇫🇷
This is good stuff. I'm doing the 1,2 step out and 2. The last 2 is super powerful with the jump. Also do a throwaway 1 just to get a reaction step out to safe distance and then when he for example throws a 1 himself to counter I go jump back into the pocket right as he is rechambering the punch, because I know I'm safe (unless double jab comes). Works for bigger opponents very well too...
I'm transitioning to boxing and it's super hard to set up punches sometimes without kicking or clinching. Because of that I would estimate my punching accuracy (to the head) and sparring is jab: 70% straight: 55% left hook: 25% right hook: 15%. Grandmaster is making me fight orthodox whenever I was a switch stance striker before. I'm desperate rn. I've been practicing boxing so much that I couldn't even land 50% of my punches in a kickboxing sparring session last week. Missed only one spinning back kick though. I have incredible hands, but something has happened to my head strike accuracy. Mainly hooks. When I get in there with somebody who moves around like me and can move their head like I do, I struggle with landing punches to the head. I feel like most people don't understand that this is nothing like street fighting lol I hope people realize that. Street fights are easy peasy to win. Literally never missed in a street fight. Help lol
I think you have to lower your expectations a bit (this doesn't mean to lower your effort). In sparring sometimes you are lucky to land more than 3 clean punches in a whole round. You get better, and it also gets harder.
Awesome insight. This is def going to improve my boxing skills, even though I already knew these combos it clicked when you said it because now i can use it in a more tactical manner. 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻

How come his head is barely moving out when he does the in and out. Isn’t the point to create enough distance to not get hit then return fire? 2:21 btw (genuinely curious as I’m not sure how far I should be bouncing back out)
JT why is it hard for me to slip punches, I basically cant see the punches coming even tho I look at the upper chest, neck area and when I’m able to slip punches I’m to late and I’m getting caught right on the chin. What can I do ?
Slipping isn't about waiting for a cue, use the movements of slips/general footwork to create opportunities. Always keep moving your head off the centerline while maintaining posture appropriately to throw shots off of those angles you're creating in real time, just don't overreact and waste useful stamina.
people think the other guy is a body bag real fight the opponent move around so thats why is important to fake, setup with single jab to the body single jab to the head until you get the person cornered or he is fully defensive
Did my sparring couple weeks ago against the star athlete at the boxing gym and he was a infighter as I think I am to. So we both met up and was super close then I started doing what you started talking about but out of instinct and when he rushed forwarding would jab him in the head and hold the jab or double jab and hold and wait for a jab or punch and dodge in again and punch and then jump out. He was very impressed and said I must come back and he can’t believe I’m green light (new)
Im going to spar in an hour and coach dropped this gem 🙏🏽💎

Yes! I heard Fury credit Sugar Hill for this, it worked beautifully and added full body weight to Fury's punches.
Was thinking the same.
Thanks Jason

My first sparring just done yesterday.
How did it went?
Nice. I remember the first time I sparred someone the mouthpiece made feel like I wanted to throw up more because of how nervous I was.
How many rounds did you do ?

Make sure you add after your final punch a step out or a slip or roll to make sure your opponent can’t counter

people think the other guy is a body bag real fight the opponent move around so thats why is important to fake, setup with single jab to the body single jab to the head until you get the person cornered or he is fully defensive
Is amuture boxing more of speed and moving around then knockouts as if you hit them down it’s still only one point?
