I WAS NOT EXPECTING IT, when she got to the first “ohh baby baby it’s a wild world” I became a goosebump. What a cover, what a voice

Is that why she was doing those squealy sounds? I was like I can hear she has a nice voice but it sounds like she's doing that on purpose. I found it incredibly annoying.
@@mohammedabdulkadir2004 I agree that stylistically the song is perfect for reggae, but to me that version is overproduced and white-washed reggae... this lady does have a fantastic voice, but not particularly funky imo... also the mr big version sounds like a guy who sat on his nuts singing along to elevator music

I love Cat Stevens' early music, I wish more people would cover it. Rett has become one of my favorite Scary Pockets singers, and she did this total JUSTICE. This may well be my new ... FAVORITE Scary Pockets song. I'm glad I found you guys. Keep funk'n this world up!
You're right more people should cover Cat Stevens. Scary Pocket's could do a great _Peace Train_ I bet. Maybe he doesn't get enough credit after he converted. He's a good poet/singer though

Holy Moses. I listen to tons of music, played multiple hundred gigs myself. Rarely have i ever had a voice bring me to tears almost immediately. Second song with her im listening to and im sitting here sobbing
Rett is such a master of carefully crafting her vowels to make a sound all her own. She has such an incredible knowledge of her voice as an instrument and how to create different timbres, tones and effects to serve the song. Amazing.

Love that sharp edge she has to her voice. Perfect "pretty-ugly" singing. She reminds me a bit of Stevie Nicks, one of my favorite vocalists of all time.
