I look at my '14 Taco, then i see this Taco... all i can think is GOALS. That is one beautiful truck!
05:17 wow thats impressive she knew the specs! Im kinda glad my wife doesn't know what I buy and how much it costs
In LOVE with this truck!! Well thought out and great walk around -- learn a lot and drool a lot too. Nice to see you feature a Tacoma!! Thanks for standing up for snorkels!! Great and can't wait for more..........
I've been following both of them on Instagram for a while now, definitely the best Tacoma pages. I love following their travels.
Awesome!
You have a trailer and a pickup yet the fridge is in the back seat. Just kidding. I love that rig. I would like to see more of the trailer.
Excellent video. What a rig! Can't wait for part two.
Such a great build! You have definitely put some thought into each of the little bits and pieces.
Yes!
This is my dream rig
Thats bad ass! I love the look of the 2014's.
Sweet truck! I have the Trd Baja Edition and I love it.
Love these videos! Thanks for show casing some rigs. Gives great info and perspectives for others. Hard to really picture things sometimes on the forums.
Nice Taco, Nice trailer. love the long travel set up.
I have basically the same truck it's a 2008 V6 Hilux. I find it kinda lacks power for towing.. it's pretty good when not loaded up but you stick a big trailer on and fuel consumption goes through the roof. Some people in Australia make a bolt on supercharger kit for this engine and it's very tempting, not too expensive either.
trd offers one, or atleast used to as well
Those are some killer photos!
🇯🇵JAPAN TRUCKS ARE THE BEST
Chopitup ûi
Beautiful rig!
Still like 1st gens a little more but it’s a great looking truck
I really wish Toyota would sell the Tacoma in RHD in the UK. I'd buy one in a heartbeat.
Great build, very nice.
Eagle scout for the win !!!
Beautiful truck.
Great truck!
BEAUTIFUL TRUCK BRO
Wow how did he build it so fast! My 2012 is even that built yet. Im peanut butter and jealous.
WildAndLiving yep. Two incomes with no kids.
Watch part two.
Super cool!
Amazing job with the footage. Can't wait for part two. 😉
Hey Nick, who do I credit for the photography?
Overland Bound @brelentlessphotography @247daryl @life_of_a_tw_wife @alteregoadventure
Would love to do this to my 17 TRD OR.
Treadwright tires on the trailer look sweet
RuskiDealer yup they act as spears
Very cool, i think I'd be afraid of knocking down those road barricades when you have to drive between them when in construction zones because its so wide.
lol it's not THAT wide! A ford Raptor is 7 inches wider than an average 1/2 tonne, so this thing is probably the width of a half tonne.
Awesome rig
America's Tire refused to put 35's on my truck. Mostly because I didn't have the suspension installed yet... Remember, lift first, tires after.
Was this filmed on old high way 84 in Livermore? Just wanted to see how awesome my memory is! - 0074
Saw this truck at TepuiFest 2016 - Amazing!
what area is this. looks a LOT like where I'm from, slick rock is the closest trail for me as well
Donovan Shadle video was taken on a back road in the east bay of Northern California
Thought so I'm from that area. Looks like my backyard
wouldnt mind seeing more of these in Australia, need solid axel front though.
it's just a hilux
TasLandy 7109 its not just a hilux they are two completely different trucks. nothing is shared between the two
760rudogg yes it is. Do some research. It's basically same drivechain as V6 hilux
well shoot. you got me there. but the body and interior is different in both. tacoma is roomier. rear suspension is also sturdier than the tacoma. I can't say nothing is shared between the two but you also can't say they are the same truck. you said its just a hilux, which it is not
NICE!!!
That actually looks like a Summit Bumper. Honeybadger is from Addictive Desert Designs. Cool truck though
Drooling all over my phone
The cats MMEEEEOOOOWWW!
fellow Eagle Scout here!!!
Me to 1999 nyc
I have a supercharged 06 taco, I think the long travel is where its at on the taco's. Up to 3 1/2 inches extension for length reason enough. Couple things I was wondering about total caos before I plunge into the investment was do they have the extension offer for wider wheel base for the rear and can you add the long travel to your already installed 6 inch kit which most kits involves spacers?
haven't seen anyone try to stack a LT kit with a drop bracket. I put wheel spacers in the rear to widen the track width but I plan on getting a longer rear axle as a permanent solution
How did you re-enforce the front bumper?
Long travel no need for sway bar??coz thinking going long travel
yuancg ison you can't have long travel with a sway bar. It would be nice to have one for high speed maneuvers but it's not possible. Offroad you don't want a sway bar. You want the suspension to be truly independent
JKS has something called Flex Connect for Jeeps, basically like a shock sway bar link so you never need to disconnect. I wonder if they make one for trucks. Not having to mess with sway bar links would definitely be nice.
U GUYS ARE LOCATED IN THE ANTIOCH AREA IM LO9CATED IN STOCKTON
1:55 absolutely RIP cv boots.. omg
Is this manual transmission or auto?
Nice rig!
DustyCowdog auto
what brand is that sweet ass bumper i have 2014 also
We need Parts through 25 asapp!!!
Coming Tomorrow!
Overland Bound time is going so slow. Is it tomorrow yet?
What about the rear suspension?
Mosdef Gonzalez allpro expo leaf pack with a Bay Area metal fab shock relocation with 12" fox shocks.
I am a boy scout in troop 533 cypress Texas
Where's part 2 at!?
Coming Tomorrow!
1 question:
How many MPGs does that thing get?
Guessing 16-18 given mine gets 13.
onlyonewaytogetthere I get about 16 highway loaded up. I get about 12 driving around town
What type of rims are those? I want a set for my taco
Mitchell Thor stealth custom series
anyone in the northeast that can recommend some trails that alloe trucks I'm in Gettysburg area but haven't been able to find anything for more than a 4 wheeler. not looking for anything insane gonna be using my daily driver but need somewhere to get started
Head to our forums and ask in the region section! Also, you can contact members in the area on our member map!
Overland Bound ok cool thanks
sorry bro thats not a 2014 it dont have the blinker molded into the mirrors thats when toyota started doing that putting the blinkers into the left and right mirrors
Whynter fridge? Thanks for another great walk around
ratled1 it's a edgestar but they are almost identical
Thanks Nick for the fast reply. I wasn't sure.
Whats the name of that bumper?
Jarred Ocoyne front bumper is a made by relentless fabrication it's a lot like there predator bumper with some additional tubes. They call us the honey badger bumper because a of the RUclips video about honey badger don't give a "...." cuz my bumper can take a beating
Thank you, it looks pretty sick i wanna get one lol
is this truck other name a hilux?
Uuuuuuh, I think there enough differences to say, no. Not positive.
i'm so done with solid axle. I want to drive not dance down the trail.
If people knew that those tires are rock crawlers and wanted them for their 4x4s....we would be able to buy them for way cheaper.....people just don't know...
I need a Toyota anyone wants an xj jeep 4x4
Only jeep worth owning
Hi guys where can get my 2014 taco mod ( such as bumpers ,winch.bed top susp, etc ) i want it to look like overland cars by the way i live in tuscaloosa Al

your so lucky to have a wife like that. Every time I touch my taco my wife is always nagging . why you do that why you do this STOP working on your truck take me food shopping . take me to the mall do this do that. SHUUUUUUUU UUUT UUUUUUUUUUUUUP. LOL yeh he lucky . my truck would be hooked be hooked up by now.
great white shark
That's because you're not paying _her_ taco enough attention
cjeam Got eeeem!
cjeam SHOTS FIRED
Sweeeet
Lol eagle scout
Bumper looks weird, it is like a bow-tie
i hate toyotas but damn this thing is badass!
Oh come on now ;)
idea sounds nice and everything, but if you are thinking of traveling to south america on that thing, you wont make it past Mexico, too flashy, it will get stolen, you are better off in a 90s 4runner or Toyota Pick Up.
or perhaps we are looking at different types of Long Travel.
cosmo olversatil good to know but don't plan on going to South America any time soon. We still have lots of North America to explore first
Long travel suspension. It's for more flex
A Toyota pickup huh?
So, like this then?
nicholas deluca Anyway he's exaggerating, but there are some places to avoid such as central Mexico and Central America
#creditthephotographer
ah yes! To my knowledge all photos credit Nick @mademan!
Overland Bound should be @brelentlessphotography @247daryl @life_of_a_tw_wife @alteregoadventure
Thank you! Will update all!
I need to find me a girl like that...
Great rig!
Too bad this channel does more criticizing of others and their Tacomas.
Thumbs down to the channel not the rig!!!!
Seriously? Our motto is, "It doesn't matter what you drive." Can you let me know the source of the criticism?
Well that's good you put your rig to work on like some posers.
I bet thats his daily
Evan Chiasson it was
It's cool and all but for me it lacks personal character
Obviously had t heard of a raptor at the time he bought a toyota😈
Evan Chiasson rapter wouldn't fit on 90% of the trails I do
Evan Chiasson I'd LOVE to see a raptor successfully crawl nearly the climbs this truck could...
Lol, another guy who thinks fullsize pickups are good on trails. XD There are few videos out there that explain why you shouldn't use a fullsize truck offroad if it's not your only option
his wife is smoking
Billy Ray Have some respect..
i didnt see her smoking...
Saw no cigarettes myself.
eh. eye of the beholder i guess
never buy a car above the Year 2013
Legit Christian why?
nicholas deluca He has no idea what he is talking about.
nicholas deluca
because vehicles in the year 2013 and onward are obviously becoming more technologically advanced right? Well because of that all of them have basic receivers in the dashboard which could be used for simple things like radio, Bluetooth ect. Pretty sure it was done unintentionally but regardless, because of that the receiver if hacked can control any part of the vehicle. literally any part. This isn't a conspiracy theory this is not my opinion either it's just science and there's more than enough to back it up. plus it's kind of obvious
Trevour Spangler
right. because technology doesn't make sense either
Legit Christian You never really hear about anyone cracking into the receivers to control vehicles though. I believe it can be done, but does it not have to be in a specific range?
The most awkward interviewer ever
Totally.
Such a crap platform, I used to love my Tacoma too until I discovered the ford raptor
Most people don't get excited spending 50k to go beat the shit out of it. I'd rather spend less and have another vehicle be my daily driver so I won't care if I break it or scratch it or whatever.
Ray Hayes watch tfl truck best a raptor with that 80s chevy
Ray Hayes it's easy to get stuck. My old 2007 Tacoma trd would get stuck in 4 inches of snow. My Camry would plow through almost a foot. My old galant can go through deep mud and ruts that I'm sure would get the Tacoma stuck. Off road is a relative term
Ray Hayes I have owned two Subaru STi and three Mitsubishi Lancer Evolutions. Both great in the snow better than any truck could be, especially the Evolution.
Not everyone wants a raptor but its a good choice everyone has a personal preferences
