Name the top 5 most important things you take when you go camping?
MREs, life straw, tent, fire starter, knife/multi tool, flashlight/headlamp, first aid kit, and gun/rifle for protection against wild animals.
5 bottles of rum 🤙
Fridge, beer, axe/chainsaw, poop tent, girlfriend to cook dinner lol
Tent, tequila and rifle/gun.
Mason f 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
I feel this setup should be for a month long adventure.
I was gonna say so! 500 is like 2 days?
@@zekehartmann3076 not even I went to main which is 445 miles and if only took 7 hours
@@raymondpechette3776 you do realize that they went off-road, right? They couldn’t just cruise on a highway at 70 mph
@@hondacivic6111 bro off road in america is not that crazy
They have no space for food for a long adventure. Fuel, water and food storage space will make it impossible. But... they also pack like shit, theres plenty of space to recover in between those boxes.
At first I thought you were going to cross the Kalahari desert.
No recovery gear as such, missing spades!
Everyone hating but thus truck is one of the coolest builds I’ve seen
🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
@@tacomabeast Overloading! and also you aint traveling south ever at all. I dare you to actually do so lol
Yeah but they should have done this build on a raptor or a F-250
There is people who hate on Tacoma? Oh wait ford guys
@@carghai9235 I don’t hate Tacoma’s but you can’t deny Ford makes infinitely better trucks than Toyota’s
- "What should we pack?"
- "Yes."
😂
Just wait until he adds an off-road trailer for more crap.
I'm from Argentina. in Argentina we have water and gasoline 😆 .. and really nice meat. You don't need to load your Tacoma like the world is going to end.
enjoy your trip
Well said. All this fancy gear is gonna get ripped off by some common street folks if they head down like in this video.
me and 2 other friends did 13.000km through Brazil, Argentina and Chile with a 22 years old toyota Hillux, with 1.000km on offroad hahah, that's too much
hasta en ingles caen mal los argentinos jajajajaja
Moon -chan confirmo!! Jajajaja
Ruto 40, what a trip.
With the fuel setup I really realize how useful and convenient a large fuel tank is. 40gal needed for your trip, and with the 36gal tank on my F-150, I'd only need one extra can.
That is if you are also running at 12mpg off-road. If you’re averaging lower you’ll need more.
You likely consume more fuel then usually off road so plan with two extra cans for a trip like that and maybe even an additional spare.
Second have not only one fire extinguisher have two small one's like he had and a large one.
Maybe get some more water too.
This guy has some really nice gear must’ve cost a fortune to buy everything.
$120k truck lol
No he didn’t, he would have got a sponsored and asked them to promote their product. That’s why he didn’t put any money.
@@PJ-qd8db Well i mean if us peasants wanted all this it would be $120k
@@spencerrr9878 yeah true, i highly doubt that we even need this much especially for a 500 mile trip
All these fancy gadgets are cute and all, but I grew up doing it old school. Throw all of your gear in the back of a 3/4 ton truck and just go. Food, water, cooler, wood, tent, no problem. These fancy boys and the “overlanding” thing has gotten out of hand 😆
Dude, you are so awesome to watch. Thanks so much for taking the time to walk us through your set up. You really are an inspiration to get out there.
Thanks bro!
We just figured out the shower system, got the little pop up privacy tent, and pool noodle around the bucket top as toilet for the wife. It does need to be expensive it just needs to work and save space while keeping everyone comfortable and happy. It is fun figuring out systems that work. The planning, prepping and building is part of the journey so I appreciate you sharing.
So glad to know you appreciated the video.
Regarding fuel, I'd recommend fitting an auxiliary fuel tank underneath the truck in the same place as the stock spare tire goes. Remove that and you can fit a large tank. We did that and along with a 2" body lift it enabled us to have close to 70 gallons of fuel. All underneath the truckbed in a self-contained system. Useful when snow wheeling in a 44" modified Tacoma in Iceland.
this is an under rated comment
I eat up some of the most dangerous and remote trails of DRCongo in a stock 76 series Land Cruiser with a back pack and about an 1/10th of all that gear but to be honest I wouldn´t mind that truck and that shower, it´s dope LOL
( I have medical gear though) :)
I ❤️ THIS RIG TO THE MOON & BACK.
With such a rig there is nowhere in the Republic of Kenya 🇰🇪 you cannot get to. WOW! This one has my attention bruh!

Meanwhile, in Finland: Oh, I guess I should fuel up before I go.
For water as a backup, Lifestraw comes in handy too! Reasonable price and small enough to throw in the back seat! Awesome set-up!Cheers.
Wow your tacoma looks amazing. So much neat stuff. My husband has a Tacoma for work. I have a jeep. I'd love to build something like this and go overlanding to a bunch of other states. Greetings from Florida.
He’s a businessman but before that he’s Tacolover! I’m sure he’s bringing all these products to better give us and consumers a better idea on how to use them. Great video mate!
Lol gambler guys be like "how to prepare, whisky and a tow strap"
right, we did 500 miles offroad in a Prius with UTV tires, and a couple cases of beer
Let me tell you.. I have no experience outlanding but I do hunt and love the outdoors. This has to be by far one of, if not, the most badass set up I’ve seen! This makes me want to convert my Silverado into this type of setup! You are so well organized and have thoroughly thought out your trip. This makes the trip so much more enjoyable! Good stuff!! 🔥
So glad you enjoyed it! If you ever need help finding any of these mods for your Silverado feel free to shoot us a dm on Facebook or Instagram 🤙
@@tacomabeast will do thank you so much!!
As somebody who loves autos, gear and the great outdoors, i love it.
But 500 miles looks like a puny use case for a rig like this...that's something one can do on a dual sport without breaking a sweat. This one calls for a 3 year long trip :)
Cheers !!
We should do longer trips for sure 😂
If (or when I must say) they'll shoot the trip to South America they talked about at the end of the video, damn, we'll have an hell of a documented journey. Especially if they shoot it in a mini series like this Pony Express trip. That 500 miles trip will certainly feel like a walk in the park after that. 😂😂
Sounds like an amazing trip, all the extra gadgets are a little dizzying IMO, but more power to you for doing this trip. For everyday folk who want to prepare to overland, remember you can put clothes in a regular duffle bag and you dont even need a rooftop tent to sleep in.
Thats a hell of a rig and setup for the trek....You have literally everything you could possibly need
can't get enough of this set up....keep the good work guys
Your videos are a ray of sunshine in my day. Keep brightening the world!
Wow, thank you!
I’m inspired, going to off-road today.
The dual swing out are so cool. would like to have a closer look to see how it was built.
love the videos! makes we want to get a decked out tacoma and do some camping with friends in the future.
Just what I needed. I'll be going on a 1,000 miles roundtrip as well soon and what you know. Tacomabeast came through with a instructional video.
Hell, when I go camping for just the weekend, my 2018 off road "with the 6' bed" is one of the best parts!! LOL
Your mods & preparation for offroading is next level👌
Thanks bro!
Wow I just love this truck it is my best, you inspired me so much on adventure trips.
Amazing video , great content . Keep up the amazing work guys 👍🏼

That cross-America trip you mentioned will be insane! I would love a video series on that
Coming soon! 👀
I was about to take a nap but this video kept me up lol. Love the content. Looking more forward to my adventure tmrw! 🤙🏽🤙🏽
It is certainly a great inspiration! Love your videos and good luck on your trip!!!
Been seeing several videos with fire extinguishers in hard to get to (or takes long to get to) places. I'd recommend mounting that extinguisher somewhere inside the bed that is a little quicker and easier to get to. Also any medical supplies. All the other stuff you store (tools, recovery, etc) are not time critical items usually.
To be fair, these guys do this professionally. Like, building Tacoma’s and dealing with parts like this is their whole gig. And they do it very well.
Best Tacoma build I've seen to date.
This is not Overlanding...Its Over LOADING
Overkill!!
😂😂😂😂 seems like u would need it for a 5 day adventure for overlanding.
Better to be over prepared from a survival standpoint than not. Especially going off grid and into the wilderness. Not going on the freeway where they can stop at the next gas station to restock and refuel. Only thing they are missing is a gun/rifle to protect themselves from bears/cougars/wolves and other animals. Or hunt for food.
I agree. Theres a lot of overlanders who you can tell have never done any actual camping or backpacking. Its obvious they've only ever done glamping. Backpackers know how to distill gear down to the actual essentials to carry less weight. Also... that wasn't coffee.
What part of practice for US to Argentina did you miss?
Very cool build. I'm always interested in what other people are doing in the overland community. Some people say that you packed too much some will say that you are crazy, all I know is that I rather have something and not need it, then need something and not have it. Edit: also always bring your hunting gear. Also keeping a solar panel for backup to charge things would also be useful. You never know if something craps out.
Meanwhile here in Russia, we do similar trips with maybe 1% of the cost of all that on our Lada Niva with 4 jerry cans of fuel and a jerry can of vodka, a bit of food, an axe, rifle and some clothes... 800 km trip in 4 days with no problem at all. Everything including the vehicle costs maybe 6.000 USD in total...
BTW it took us 4 days because we were having fun in between, drinking, hunting, fishing... Otherwise we could do it in a day
To each their own bro, we had a blast too and enjoyed some nice commodities 🤙
Awesome rig. Don’t pay attention to naysayers, you wanted it, you got it. Thinking about a similar setup myself so very helpful video. Thanks.
I just spent 3 weeks in the wilderness and drove 5,000 miles with my family of 4 and a dog and we had half as much stuff. We had a great time and I thought we had to much gear lol. Cool truck and gear though.
This is my favorite version of Mateo’s truck.
Yes, I do need all that stuffs to look cool.
Heavy duty crates just for clothes? I think those can be in a backpack inside the cabin.
or a garbage bag :)
I know right. I was not expecting to see clothes in there🤣🤣🤣 anything else but clothes
Looked like just a sleeping bag and a couple of blankets in something that looks like it could hold weapons or something. Lol
Nah you gotta have space in the back for the hoes
Yeah
Very cool that you want to replicate your Father’s South America journey! Much respect. Digging the hood gas strut mod & I saw your instal video regarding them. On my wish list. Have a great trip on the P Express Trail!
Great video and best wishes for your 500 mile trip and then your trip down to So America, keep those dreams and your father's presence in your heart! Semper fi my friend.
Thanks a lot! you can follow us along the trip, all of the videos are in our channel!
Hey, mate,
If Toyota starts selling Tacoma in Korea, and they come in all varieties, I want you guys to set up Tacoma Beast dealerships in Seoul, Busan, Gwangju, Daejeon, etc. I'll be an ambassador for your business, I'm so inspired and motivated by a lot of the videos you guys are showing, Korea is still a small market for tuning and the government doesn't give out many permits, but who knows, it has the potential to rebound into a huge market in the future. Korean people and guys love camping so much. If you're ever in Korea, let me know and I'll volunteer to be your guide.

Lmao 🤣 🤣
That sound cool! De mi pais Venezuela to Argentina. Vamonos!
Really nice setup. Pretty much prepared for everything
Epic build bro. Shower is nice! Especially out in the field. Although I have gone weeks without showering, hygiene is important to not getting sick.
Field shower, pits and groin...change your socks and drink water.
I find it hard to believe that this tacoma loaded down like it is, is getting 12mpg.
Yeah you would think it would more be like gallons per mile
Beo the sounds at the beggining is so satisfying
Amazing👌🏻 Fully loaded for camping.
Looks like you have all your bases covered. Have a blast out there tacomabeast
Naw.... he forgot to bring firewood
Hey man i really like your built, thank so much for sharing this awsome Taco! I hope you keep posting good content as you do, you now have a friend right here in Baja, if you want to overland! thank you man. Sincerely Manny Bay
Absolutely amazing build!
The lighting and shoot filming 😍😍
Basically, this was pretty awesome actually. Basically. 😉 Seriously, fun kit!
Awesome bro! Your rig and thought process is solid. I would say definitely yes to camp shower it is a huge game changer. I have one thats basically a mini hot water heater using propane. Theyre pretty cheap and like i said HUGE game changer! Other than make sure you have enough water and fuel. Maybe plot out see of there are any available watwr sources to refill or fill up at. Water is added weight 8lbs per gallon!
You feel so good after showering in the middle of nowhere. It also feels good to be dirty lol
@@tacomabeast the only time I shower in the wild is before sleep. It's really bad when the sleeping bag smells bad.
Simply wow 🤩
Inspirador y Motivador excelente video, Gracias por compartir!!!
Nice setup!! A rustikiar hasta la

Have the same shower tent. Not sure if you brought a gridded mat for your feet but definitely a good idea so water runs through.
Thank you for the video!yt🟦🟨
Sweet set up...I'm inspired. Thanks.
“squat and do what you gonna do!” haha! God bless your adventure bro.
Dont forget spair CV axels. You probably already do though. I cant wait to see the trip!
That is the coolest truck I have seen..by far
This is the best build I've seen.
I’m more of a baby wipe shower kind of guy when I’m out that long!
same, saves time and weight on the rig.
If you're feeling a little luxurious those no rinse shampoos can be nice.
@@leroyj9044 hold on... 'no-rinse shampoo". Wtf? is that really a thing? and if-so how the fuck did they figure that out? I mean after you use shampoo... it feels like fucking being lathered in something that's in urgent need to be washed off!
@@mosasa1307 yup, its totally a thing. its not a replacement for your typical shampoo but it does work a bit and isn't really all that expensive, like 8$ for a bottle.
This is the way.
Man, you're ready for zombie apocalypse!! 😂🤣
The man is right. Get out there and explore the trails. I’ve got a stock ‘06 Tacoma TRD sport and it amazes me what terrain I’ve been able to traverse using a limited slip diff.
explore the outdoors! 🤘
How did we ever see so much wild land with just a pack and boots. Now it takes a minimum of a 100 grand to get “back to nature”.
You're right, Overlanding is Overlanding, regardless if you have boots or tires!
You don't need this. I drove the same route plus plenty more during a week long adventure in my 2010 Ranger 4x4. Kept is stupid simple, all with a build of about 10k into my rig. You can prepare for whatever you want and still have bad luck, i was fortunate, took some risks and only drove away with more experience and great memories. Overland should be nicknamed: Overkill
Couldn't have said it better myself 🤣#A T
As mentioned on minute 16:59 you don't need all this. After sleeping in a ground tent growing up for many years.. Mateo decided to treat himself nice with all the products you saw on this video.
We kept asking ourself that question during the trip. Its so crazy!
16:39 you said "Tierra del fuego" Like an Argentinian do, that is amazing
Mateo’s dad is from Argentina
It just sounds like regular spanish you trippin😂
Dude, you are so awesome to watch.
Excellent video, very informative!!!
Nice!! But I don’t think these two guys would ever make it up here in Alaska, kinda soft😂🤟🏽
Right? 500 miles. I guess it's hard enough to find 500 miles of decent off road in the US.
Roadkill would haha
Doubt they would make it past Palmer
Yukoner here, read 500 miles, thought that was a warmup
Beautiful build and setup for a long trip, pretty heavy load though, try getting through any mud ridden areas are definitely going to be challenging, even with a winch. Really interesting to see all the different supplies. I hope that your journey is fun for you.😎👍
This video is awesome.. Loved the way the you modified the vehicle.. I hope it is LineX coated.. 500 mi is no joke.. You can always load up water from the streams..
