How To Merge Hard Drive Partitions On Your Windows 10 Boot Drive Without Deleting Anything

it is actually rather interesting how cloning an drive to a larger drive results in a partition that is the same size as the original drive but heres how to fix it or combine an unwanted partition on your main os / operating system drive. if it didnt have an os on it would be as easy as deleting the unwanted partition but this does a good job of merging them together without having to delete anything.

EaseUS sadly has changed their software so that the pro version is needed to merge partitions. However, Aomei while their cloning isn't free their partition assistant is which allowed me to easily merge my drives in practically the same manner as this video. The partition you are merging with your OS drive will need to be empty though, most likely it is, but just wanted to include that info.
Thank You, saved me a lot of time
Thank u bro love u
AOMEI has now also put this feature behind a pay wall
@@inganathigcilishe1537 whaat I did it like 10 days ago, how the hell doesn't windows have this as a core feature

I followed this tutorial and the previous on exactly and once I removed the original drive I get windows errors and can’t boot my computer anymore. Please help!!
Thanks a lot man ur video help the heck out of me
As soon as I allowed Ease US to restart my computer, windows won't boot smh.
UPDATE: I literally unplugged the nvme-usbc and it booted it up. Then I plugged it back in and went through the steps again, now I can finally use my drive. Thank you!
How do I use a computer with two drives under 1 partition
you are a cool guy , wish i had found you earlier, thanks a bunch for doing this vid,
You sorted me out, merged it bro
Hi Coil, thanks for the video, however, I am looking for specific solutions. My c drive is in Disk 1 and the rest of the partitions are in Disk 0. My research tells me that nothing can be done to extend C drive in that case, if that is true and if not can you help me with that?
that is true
How can I merge my C-drive (with my OS and paid softwares) with my D-drive (with my Games) on the same HDD into one c-drive. With the technique explained above work?
If both partitions are on the same physical drive, and the D: partition is after the C: partition, you can do this using just Windows from the “Storage”->”Disk Management” section of the “Computer Management” app. However, you first need to move all data you want to keep from the D: partition to the C: partition or backup the D: partition data to some other media. You would then delete the D: partition and then extend the C: partition to encompass the free space left after D: was deleted, and then copy any data from any backup you may have made. I’m actually getting ready to do this on one of my 2-partition data drives.
after merging all and disconnecting the old drive, the new 1TB drive split into 2 partitions (931 GB and 96MB) both are labeled local disk and i cannot open the smaller partition nor format it
this is completely normal, but you can choose to hide it so it no longer appears
Macrium Reflect absolutely lets you resize partitions to address the situation of target drives being smaller or larger than the source drive when cloning. I just took a 500GB multi-partition boot drive to a 1TB drive, and resized the Windows directory to fill all the free space. You just have to know how to use the software properly. Also, the resizing functions can be done using either sliders or numeric values. You also don’t have to copy all partitions when you clone, such as if you want to skip cloning the recovery partition.
Please share the knowledge because I can't find a way to do this i get an error mes saying I need to convert the basic disk to dynamic disk but you can't do this on a drive with system files

@@inganathigcilishe1537I did this a long time back, and it would be difficult to describe without photos, but if you try searching for “macrium reflect cloning to larger drive” you should see a link to their blog that describes the process. I can’t post links here or I would post it. Hope this helps.
can i merger 3 external usb hard drive to one
Thanks for the info! I have a challenge. And cannot do it so far. I have 2 separate SSDs and want to merge them into a single dual bootable SSD. My first SSD has 500gb win11 and it is MBR. I have a free partition of 250gb to place my info contained in the second SSD which is a Win10 MBR as well. Every software I tried only lets you clone a disk by eraring all partitions of the target disc… no program allows you to clone a OS in a certain partition of the target disc… let alone there is no info how to enable dual boot on the resulting setup.
minitool partition wizard ver 11?
Thank you soo much
I now have a Z: drive containing the EFI and Reserved partitions. Also may I suggested that you turn on the show clicks future so that it is obvious where you are clicking, for individuals like me that have dementia.
Thank you for the tin opener ! 🤣
If one drive fails, do you lose everything with this method?
Its the same drive so you would lose it all anyway
How to nmarge it cause i did it and i cant grt it back😅
Guys does anybody know how can i undo the merge?
EASUS and AEOI no longer free. Use Macrium reflect home, image Windows to another drive then image it back again selecting the option under advanced to extend to fill the drive, long winded but it's FREE and from SSD to SSD only take a few mins.
Both easeUS and Aomei dont help. Neither will let me merge an unallocated partition to my c drive. Keeps wanting me to pay for a full version and im not paying $40 for a year when i just need 1 thing.
I CANT MERGE WITH THIS EITHER TRIED AOEMI AND NIUBI TOO....
Doesn't work!
I actually used this before when I was transferring my primary hard drive to my 970 Evo.
Good program overall to be fair
Yeah i was gonna completely redo the video to clone with it but it doesnt actually let you
Do u have a new solution maybe? They put a paywall
the program now asks for a subscription to make the merge , that's what it showed me .
They put it behind a paywall
2024: pay $25 to some smelly app developer for their shitty adbloat software to complete one simple task that should be able to be done in disk manager.
it messed up my games that sucks
how do i fix that @CoilWhine
it needs licence :(
That is a paid software. Thanks for nothing.
Lmao what???? Download the free version 😂

Sorry to say but this method no longer works. As every greedy compony I have tried so far has put the simplest programs behind paywalls and this company has hidden it behind a paywall as well...as expected...
Fake 😂doesn’t work
Skill issue
@@CoilWhine I have a hdd I want to clone/migrate to my ssd I have my pc booted on, I am realizing you say you need at least 2 docking stations to do it sucessfully or it will take longer if you just had 1. Im looking to buy a ssd with enough space for me + a docking station to do my migrating successfully.
I think you explain information digestibly thanks
All that clicking on the screen got me lost. If you're gonna make a tutorial to help others, make sure it's detailed in slower steps...Some people are not as computer savvy as you!
If you watch it a few times in slo mo it makes sense lol
