Thank you. I had cloned a 1tb drive to a 8tb drive and it created a 1tb partition so i wasn't sure if extending would delete the files. For anyone in my situation it does not delete the files. Hello, may i ask? the " healthy (Recovery Partition) in my screen is in between of C drive and D drive like its in the middle what do, do i move it or delete it or any choices i could do?
Really Great video.. Recently I bought a laptop which was partitioned Myself c drive very less and i was unable to install any software further I enquired many friends but finally found the best video here Thanks MALIK
for me, there is a pop up message after pressing "finish" after creating the new volume saying " The operation you selected will convert the selected basic disk(s) to dynamic disk(s)" What do I do?
Hi, had the same problem. You got to open cmd with admin, tap diskpart then tap select disk 0 witch is your c drive, then select the number of partition that is the recovery partition. You can see the number on the end, so tap select partition (5) in my case, then tap delete partition (5), then your good to go and extend your c drive sence there is no obstacle.
Hai bro, I got a problem even in the D drive the space is available of 280gb of 329gb but system is not showing more than 33gb at the time of (disk management) shrink volume... please solve or explain this
Thank you so much for your video! It was super helpful in showing me how to reallocate space from D drive to C drive, and it worked like a charm! Thank you!
My other external drive is not next to the windows c drive the external hard drive is in disk 1 and windows c in disk 0 I can't seem to merge them together bc their not next to eachtother Please reply
The operation you selected will convert the disk.if you convert the disk to dynamic, you will not be able to start installed operating systems from any volume on the disk(except the current boot volume). Are you sure you want to continue? I had this and after I processed it says”the selected GPT formatted contains a partition which is not of type’PARTITION_BASIC_GUID’,and is both preceded and followed by a partition of type ‘PARTITION_BASIC_GUID’,
This video suggests creating a second partition to expand the C drive if there is little space left on it. This video does not suggest creating a partition to install a second OS.

This is one of those why didn't I think of that moments. I'm retired now, but I have spent decades working with Microsoft Systems and Networks, including repairing broken Windows Operating Systems, and come across this scenario where you cannot expand a Disk without arranging for an unallocated Partition next to it. I have tended to use PartEd which has always worked flawlessly. Now I am retired and find this. Hey ho...
Thank you very much for crystal clear instruction. Good commentary, good illustration, and workable solution in its thoroughness. I liked your video. Thanks for sharing. It did help me.
I hope you come up with a guide video which shows how to extend Drive C from Drive D or vice versa if there is a SYSTEM or RECOVERY (the one marked HEALTHY) file between them.
So I did this and the first time it worked but tried to do it again because I wanted to add more storage to disk C but the second time now the drive D and F are logical drives now and won’t let me extend drive C. Can you please help me out
Hello, after allocating all the free space to a new volume and after deleting it, the option to extend volume on the C drive is still grey(I can't click on it)

there was health recovery partition between C and D but luckily I did some cmds and merge the health partition with disk C and then continue doing ur method. Thanks alot 💖
