    At 60 years old I have struggled with digestive issues for years. And yes, I traveled extensively for work and had two serious bouts of food poisoning from Turkey and Italy. Last year I had my appendix removed and for the first time in years I have relief from my symptoms. Is there any research on if, in some people, the appendix is a reserve of bad bacteria, probably e coli?

      They did find some new discoveries about the importance of the appendix and the microbiome recently. Maybe it is in pubmed.

    If the phase 2b trial is successful is it possible that the drug reach the market directly or does it have to go to phase 3?

    • @SIBOSOS
      @SIBOSOS  4 месяца назад +1

      Great question! Typically, a successful Phase 2b trial would lead to a Phase 3 trial to gather more data on safety and efficacy before a drug can be approved for market. However, there are exceptions, and regulatory processes can vary.

    What does it mean if after a 2-week elementary diet the test shows lower hydrogen but much higher methane than it was before the treatment?

    • @SIBOSOS
      @SIBOSOS  21 день назад +1

      That’s an interesting observation. Methane levels can sometimes rise if methanogens thrive in the absence of competition. It’s always best to consult with your practitioner for personalized insights into your test results and next steps. Hope that helps! 💡

Felt good at first then not. I had a horrible hip infection on my new hip 2 years ago and now I’m HURTING SO BAD!! The pain is aweful! The naturalpathic that helped me before had t been able to touch this pain. I did endoscopy and have H.Pylori which this strain from bad water, food or infection. Put me on 3 antibiotics for 14 days. Fantastic information and thank you for your tireless efforts for those of us struggling with GI issues. What do identify as food poisoning? Is it the same as the "Travelers diarrhea" so common in Mexico? What about C-diff which is where all my problems began after a sinus infection. Can ibs D cause weight loss?

    • @SIBOSOS
      @SIBOSOS  4 месяца назад

      Hey there! That's a great question. It's important to note that IBS-D can sometimes lead to weight loss, but it's not always the case.
      It's possible that the discomfort and changes in digestion associated with IBS-D might make it harder to eat regularly or absorb nutrients fully.
      If you're experiencing unexplained weight loss along with IBS-D symptoms, it's always best to talk to your doctor. They can help determine the cause and recommend the best course of action.

    PS: Shivan, have you thought about inviting Diane O'Leary as a guest for your podcast? She's a researcher and expert in the philosophy of medicine, philosophy of mind and bioethics. She's a very vocal critic of the biopsychosocial model and psychosomatic medicine so her insights about the history of "DGBIs" might be quite valuable for a lot of your viewers. She's active on twitter/x and has also written 2 books.

    I am not through the whole video, but do you really claim that elemental diet is better than carnivore? Or is it because you sell elemental diet?
    I mean, elemental diet is awfully expensive and as far as I understand it's kind of a cocktail made of food which excludes everything that can feed the bad bacteria. So you starve it. Why just not simply eliminate carbs, including sugar, and make a lion diet? Because it's fixes the gut, the health, it's tasty and definitely cheaper. And the food is whole foods and it's natural.
    The thing is, as soon as you start eating all your normal food again, SIBO will return, for sure. If you change your diet for good, I mean, for a diet with zero or almost zero carbs, you have much more chances to stay SIBO free. And have your bloating fixed. And achieve your weight goals. Excluding people who can't digest animal fat and protein due to some disorders like with enzymes.
