An all-too-large percentage of the population suffers from poor sleep, achy joints, feelings of fatigue, brain fog, and what I call FLC (“feel like crap”) syndrome. This epidemic has a number of factors, most of which are caused by our modern lifestyles and diets. But one of the major factors of such dysfunction is poor mitochondrial health.
In today’s episode of my series I’m calling Health Bites, I dive deep into our mitochondria-what it is, why it's so important, and what you can do to support your mitochondrial health.

Please don't rely on prayer. God helps those who help themselves. Many gut issues are helped/cured with a good diet. No white sugar, potatoes, or white flour. Eat plenty of meat/fish protein and healthy fats: avocado oil, olive and coconut oils as well as tallow (beef fat), duck fat. No seed oils: no canola, soy, safflower, sunflower oils, grapeseed, etc. There are a ton of bad oils used in food production in this country.

I have been suffering for years! Every gastrologist these days seems to go by the same playbook. They don’t seem to have a clue as to what’s going on! Why do I have to be the one to go on RUclips and educate myself when they should be doing it? I found out more in this video than three years of going to doctors trying to solve my problem. I tested positive for methane Sibo and none of these people that I’ve seen seem to know what it is or how to fix it. Thank you so much for the information!

The medical profession in the U.S. is an unmitigated disaster. As you stated, doctors by and large are clueless. It's almost unbelievable how bad they are. Yes, each of us must be our own doctor and figure things out for ourselves with the help of the rare good doctors who share their knowledge on platforms like RUclips.

I showed this video to my doctor after struggling for the past two years with no positive results from anything else that I tried. My PCP decided to put me on Xifaxin and metronidazole. Four days after I started doing medication I felt terrible, but I thought it was from the die off. I finished both worship, and before I started. It’s been three weeks since I finish the medication and I am in terrible shape. The gas and bloating increased along with the pain in my stomach on the left side, and I am so weak at times I can barely walk. The inflammation is also affecting my eyesight and my ears. During a flareup in my stomach, I know I have the origin and tinnitus in both ears. I discovered some new information that stated that methane dominant sibo cannot be cured with antibiotics as it is not caused by bacteria. 🤷🏻‍♂️ I tried to call Dr. Pimentel‘s office in California to try to get some assistance and ended up speaking with some rude lady who said that since I was not a resident of that state there was nothing they could do for me.🤦🏻‍♂️

My humble opinion is they should be growing hemp to feed cows. That has been shown to not ferment as much in their guts, and but most of all adding in the full spectrum of cannabis omegas, and other nutrients and health benefits that come from hemp. On top of being good for the cows, and in turn good for the people who ingest the cows and their milk. Growing hemp is also great for the environment and a fast growing low maintenance crop.

Very fascinating talk on a very complex subject. I developed IBS in the mid 90’s. I was advised to go high fibre which made the problem much worse. Mine was caused by a mixture of high stress and food intolerance. In the end I sent a blood sample to a private lab here in the UK. They found I had mild intolerance to Brazil nuts, egg white, and garlick, but my main intolerance was to yeast which was a 4+ reaction being the strongest reaction that they had seen at that time. I modified my diet. No other treatment. The GP just said keep taking the Imodium! Eventually Imodium also made things much worse.

Great conversation. Regarding methanogens (33 min), there is a proposed evolutionary advantage since these organisms are a sink for hydrogen (high levels inhibit fermentation) reducing levels and allowing hydrogen-producing bacteria to continue fermenting, converting more carbs into fats which nourish us. In a nutrient-rich environment (Western diet), we end up with pathological levels of methane. But in paleolithic times, this might have been a desirable attribute.
