I ve lived with IBS constipation for 25 years, I recently tested positive for Sibo, both methane and hydrogen. My Doctor didn't know what SIBO was and refused to give me Rifaximin and Neomycin. He also told me there no test for IBS. He was happy to give costly colonoscopy test which came back normal!!!! When will the rest of the World catch up? When will our Doctors get training. So, so grateful for your work xx

Your story sounds just like mine. I became addicted to laxatives because nothing else worked. Doctors tried SSRI’s & latest IBS meds. Another GI doctor recommended I see a psychiatrist Nothing has worked & is the worst quality of life. It’s encouraging that this doctor understands & is searching for a solution.

Ginger root pills act like a prokinetic and relieve constipation significantly.
The bottle I have (natures promise)
Says to take 2 a day but 6-7 is what works for me spaced throughout the day. I usually take 3 at a time. Make sure to take a few hours before a meal.

Thank you GOD for this amazing man trying to help us from misery with all his research. Most of doctors don't care about all of the symptoms we go thu. I'm bloated 24/7, diagnosed with ibs but now I think I have methane sibo.

    Dr we APPRECIATE your work!
We must find the link between imo, pcos, estrogen dominance, herpes simplex, hashimoto’s, and lower heart rate (except when I take ginger!) I wish I understood why that happens! I take it for constipation and sometimes it works and sometimes not. I’d like to know why?
I have all of these symptoms and am finding out that many others with imo do as well.
Any info on this? I have found little.
Since imo is genetic maybe the missing link is in those who were bottle fed vs breast fed?

Hey there, great video! really well articulated and Marks attitude shines of hope and determination. May I ask when the next Q&A video may be? Any chance of doing an AMA (ask me anything) on the SIBO subreddit? this would be profound and I imagine, through Reddits upvote system, would distill down some very important questions. Cheers!

Dear Doc, Can fasting give relief from SIBO ?

    • @Fimp136
      @Fimp136 9 месяцев назад

      Yes it can!
If it’s methane, when you are limit your food the archea are getting less to eat too thus lowering your symptoms.
It also helps your mmc. He talks about this in several videos.

I have battled methane and hydrogen SIBO for yrs with chronic constipation. I have to treat myself with herbals bc most drs have no clue about SIBO or treating it. My dr gave me rifaximin only bc I told him I tested positive at home but I didn’t take it bc I didn’t feel it would be enough to treat. If we treat with RX drugs, won’t SIBO come back bc we have no idea how we all got into this mess in the 1st place? Is it dairy, wheat, grains, gmo? Who knows. I feel like I’m in a losing battle here, it’s so sad

If you don’t travel outside of the country, but you still get food poisoning more than a normal person, how do you take steps to prevent yourself from getting food poisoning? I only got food poisoning once from eating out once, total five times. My first time I was late 40s seems after that I was prone to nausea and getting it again.

I do like Pimentel but his research is going too slow due to funding from our institutions. Also China and Japan researchers already have most of these findings and have for years. They are way ahead of us in microbiome research and have cures for most of these issues. Pimentel' team should seek public funding from the american public, many researchers do this, and conduct studies simultaneously based on various theories to flush out what will work and get real solutions to suffering public. These studies are taking way too long and costing people suffering too much money. Time to be resourceful.
