My local hair store has a dupe of this brush called "Annie wet dry detangler brush" looks EXACTLY like this brush and costs $6.99 lol. Just a suggestion if people don't want to support a company who isn't paying the influencers they strategically reach out to, while upcharging for a brush geared towards a specific demographic, when said brush is thin, lightweight, with cheap materials & can easily be made for pennies on the dollar!! Don't let them take advantage of you. The hair store isn't exactly much better, since it's owned by another demographic targeting our dollars too lol, but at least you can get it almost $12 cheaper 😅
Hello :) I came back to the channel to say thank you. Around February I had to cut my hair to a bob. I was struggling with split ends, single strand knots and generally dry hair (I have high porosity hair). I started to use water, glycerin (after seeing one of your videos) and grease (which I remember helped me at the beginning of my hair journey)... And BAAM, my hair is finally doing great 😭. I still have split ends/SSK here and there, but the situation is sooo much better. I can retain hydration and length, I periodically hydrate my hair (I feel like having such a simple routine helps with the consistency), I can properly seal it and I protective style. Now I'm again at BSL 🎉.
it's the best detangler brush in my opinion! however, for us type 4 girlies, I'd never advise detangling with any brush without finger detangling FIRST lol. after doing a decent finger detangle, it does a great job! but agreed, definitely not a magic lifesaver as its been advertised
I want to thank you, I followed one of your videos back in March 2024. I followed the regiment to the teeth. Now, my hair grew from my jawline to past my collarbone. I am on a three year plan to grow my hair on my breast or below.
I don’t have the branded Unbrush, but a knockoff I got for $2 on SHEIN. It works well on my hair and is more gentle than other brushes. I was never going to get the branded one anyway because Sally’s used to sell a brush like this 7 or 8 years ago for $5 and it wasn’t the Unbrush brand, then, either. I like the knockoff, so I will continue to use the knockoffs. Edit: Also, I prefer different brushes for different states of my hair. A classic paddle brush (with the balls on the end) works best on moisturized dry hair. Unbrush and the brushes based off of the Felicia Leatherwood work best on my damp or wet hair.
I have the dupe from dollar tree and I love it. I have short, thick, 4C hair. Very little hair comes out compare to when I pick my hair with about a quarter size amount of hair.
Your reviews are always so genuine, I appreciate that about you! I may give it a try next year, as my hair has grown. Pls include your Amazon link to the brush in the description, so when I'm ready I can use it.
I'm glad you like it. I have the pink one. I thought the same about the construction until I actually used it. It's my favorite detangling tool. I have built a very large tool grave yard over the past 14 years.☹️
I use the unbrush plus! I watched a type 4c RUclips use it, she said it's what she expected the original unbrush to be! I use to use tangle teezer but my hair has grown longer and thicker, so it doesn't do it for me like before. I highly encourage you to try the unbrush plus and compare in a video!
Glad you did this review of the UnBrush especially showing the different techniques to showcase which would be best to implement for those with tightly textured curly coily hair. Matt 10:30 🙏🏾💜💐😀
Thanks for sharing/ My favorite detangling brush is the tangle teezer. I have short, thick 4c hair and it works so well with just water! we'll see how it evolves the longer my hair gets!
It does help detangle better than most brushes, but like you said it's not magic 😂 and the best detangler for type 4 hair in my experience is Fingers, especially fine type 4. But yes Unbrush works better with damp well moisturised hair or with conditioner. Not better than my fingers though😅
It's clearly very similar to or a dupe of the Phillips Flexx brush that I've had for years and is my favorite detangling brush! Glides thru my hair when i lightly finger detangle first. Usually, dont use it until i am deep conditioning. Not planning to try this one...i still have my Flexx in my stash, lol. When you find a good one at a decent price...you order several and keep 'em 😂😂😂 Great vid exploring this, though!!
I used the temu version and it detangled my hair soooo well. But 3 months later I blow dried my hair for a length check and my ends were chewed up! They were so see through and using the brush was the only difference. I had to cut at least 5-6 inches of my hair off. So it set me back on my hair growth journey. I’m back to no detangling tools for the foreseeable future.
Hello Dear, here watching and supporting, my fellow content creator, thanks for posting this content, here to encourage you to keep going, keep pushing forward, thumbs up and blessing to you
I use that brush from time to time. I normally use it to detangle on wash day along with the african pride prepoo. i think it does cut down on time overall but i do still like to lightly finger detangle before using it. its like you said. Its not magic but its useful. im undecided if its a staple in my routine or not.
Thanks for doing this video. I found that it did not work for me. I felt it pulled my strands out and I did go slow. My hair fragile and I prefer my fingers and there’s a detangle brush that I got off of Amazon. I’ll see if a I can locate a name. I love your long strong hair.
I’ll stick to my fingers. I like keeping my length😅. They Will not be getting my funds, especially after knowing they are dishonest and didn’t pay an influencer. Thanks for the honest review.❤
This video started off very good with buttered shiny dry hair, but it went down hill with water and a bunch of hair 😢… Did you have to wash? hope you resolve this soon.
I would love to hv one of this unbrush nd it's really expensive if u convert to Ghana cedis 😫😫. I ended up buying the fake one that costs 2 dollars with is 30 cedis nd it honestly doesn't do well for my 4c 😫😫. I wasn't expecting it to do a good job anyway 🤣🤣🤣
With the Unbrush, don't press the comb into the hair. The more you glide over the hair and it detangles, it will start to glide "through" the hair on its own.
1. I don't see how the unbrush is that different from a paddle brush without balls on the ends like the Denman D38 & 2. How bad are the other detangling brushes on the market that this is being touted as a miracle brush? 😅 At this point whenever I'm dry detangling I just go straight in with the conditioner and oil. There's enough moisture in my spray leave-in to avoid using water. Please don't put your lovely hair through the wringer just to demo a product or tool!!
Flexibility in the teeth. Tangle teezer for coily hair have hard bristles. Tangle teezer fine to fragile hair have flexible brushes. If you are ever curious, go to the store and run your thumb over the bristles. Some brushes are more gentle on hair strands.
Thanks for the demonstration. I will not be purchasing it. It seems to me that the influencers are producing any and everything to get the black women’s hard earn money.
It’s up to you, whether you wanna get the brush or not. However, I will say that it does work very well on my type 4 hair. The hair that comes out in the brush is minimal and the detangling process is quick. It’s my favorite brush to use.
I was just cringing my face with you as tho it was my hair that was being detangled😄😄😄. Nah.. I can't do this at all, I might try it if I applied some conditioners but detangling dry, no no😟
Wow an influencer hasn't been paid by this company, that is so disheartening. Thanks for being so honest with this review.
You are so welcome!
