@@CoilyDiariespls how did you style your hair for this live? I love it
Definitely.
Amen! ☝️✝️
He made my hair a mistake. 😢 I HMhate my hair.
Girl preach! I don't trim my hair either, and it's doing just fine, thank you for much!!
thanks for sharing
A white friend wanted to touch my hair so badly, i allowed her and she was like ,wow, it looks like cotton and soft ..so we have an amazing gift that makes life even more brighter
🩷🩷🩷🩷
😏😏
The average diameter, or thickness, of Asian hair is from 80 to 120 µm, compared to 65 µm in Caucasian hair and 55 µm in Black hair. Our hair grows upwards because it is lightweight. It only drops when you grow it very long. It is also the finest hair among all races. Fine hair is also the softest. But other people think that we have hair that is hard to the touch.
But people find it offensive when white people try to touch our hair
@@rosam674that is because a lot of black folks have “hard feeling hair”, because they don’t know how to take care of it properly. Other than that you are correct. On the thickness of the hair strands across the world.
All of this information is on point, I stopped the serial use of combs and brushes and single strain knots have been annoying but I came to the conclusion this is just a character of 4c hair, salons like she said exist to finance their life it’s a job it’s their salary. So now I avoid salons like the plague. Thanks for this interview
so welcome
She’s absolutely right! I love the minimalist mindset applied to hair care! Why should we be following the “natural care experts” when we know our own hair because we’ve been dealing with it ourselves for years! If I like the look and feel of my hair, who cares about the standards of others??
well said!
Your so right, I don't use combs or trim my hair.they are the enemy when it comes to 4c hair,we don't need to use combs ,our fingers will get the job done. I stop using combs 4mos now and I see a big difference in the thickness and less spit ends in my hair,I love my hair and the way it looks now, because this works for me.
thanks for sharing this❤️
TRIMMING APPLAUSE!!
You’re making me SMILE!!
My Asian friends have hip length hair that’s not blunt cut or regularly trimmed. When my hair is worn and it’s an afro. A blunt cut doesn’t mean anything to me?? You mean perfect sense to me and I am OVERJOYED!!

Amen young lady
wow. this lady changed my life when she talked about not trimming hair. that has been a game changer. the tips she gave..... mwaaaaa
❤️❤️❤️
Fabulous video! PreciousFro is very smart, confident, and beautiful! Her hair is stunning. Thanks for having her on your show.
Our pleasure!
Thank you for this fabulous interview with this young wise woman (as well as yourself of course). This is sooo inspiring. I am going to have my 15 year old watch this. All of our young women need to hear this!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
❤️❤️😍
Yes!!! Amen!!!
This was an excellent conversation. Once we learn to see the beauty in our hair and treat it with love, care, and respect we will see more and more ladies with long hair if that is their desire. I will forever be grateful for my mom who taught me and my sisters to love and care for our natural hair.
🌺🌺🌺
I believe 💯 that the love for out hair starts with self love
Her hair is ART 😍😍😍
🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺
Thank you so much for this conversation! I got so much out of it!☺️
loved it too! thank YOU!!!🤩🌺🌺
Nice conversation between two lovely ladies. 👍🏼
❤️❤️❤️❤️
This was fantastic. A shift in my mindset towards my hair just happened. Thank you both for a profound sermon on hair!! ❤
Love it 🥰
Curl ninja taught me that it’s a myth that split ends travel up naturally. They only continue if you continue the practice that created the split in the first place but no they aren’t a reason to trim frequently if you take good care of your hair.
thanks for sharing this
I didn't know this.
My stylist cuts my splits every visit and said if I don't, it'll do more damage. I lost like 4 inches of hair because of this reason 😢
Split ends a myth. Y’all believe anyone that jump on RUclips that has an opinion. Her experience is her experience. Everyone’s hair is not the same . Some things I believe works best for 4 C hair but healthy hair does come from a clean scalp 🤦♀️ Who goes a month or more without shampooing.
@@melissajohnson1369 she said her scalp gets cleaned evry month it's the actual hair strands wash frequency that is another story due to styling
Amen, God created everything we need to grow our hair. This video was such a blessing - God bless you ladies
❤️❤️❤️
Great collaboration with Precious FRO. The information is priceless, and relatable. Thank you Coily Dairies.❣❣❣❣❣
Glad you enjoyed it!
52:53 to be honest, could it be subconsciously that stylists just don’t want to have to deal with very long 4c hair, so they promote frequent cutting? My hair has grown to waist length and at this length, stylists acted very overwhelmed. Another thing is, if we wear our hair curly, split ends don’t really matter unless it starts looking thin.
I just cut off 4-5 inches due to damage from stylist combing so I’m on a new journey. I didn’t need to chop necessarily, but I didn’t want to keep having to wear a bun. Ready to go back to doing my own hair at home in comfort and ease.
Thanks for sharing this perspective
“Looking at your adversity as a test changes your mindset" hmmm 🤔 that's deep. Thanks precious for sharing how our natural hair relates with our walk with God👍.
This reminds me of another RUclipsr Felicia Lee, she also talks about our spiritual life and how it relates with our natural hair. Weldone coily diaries👏👏👏
Glad you enjoyed!!

This is THE most informative video on this subject I’ve ever come across.

Oh wow how did i miss this, my down time I will listen in...I'm so in love with natural hair 💗 . the jewels in the hair looks stylish and more Queenish if that's a word lol ❤. You're amazing and your guest too.
Thanks gorgeous 🌺
I'm so confused. Under the video it says this was 2 days ago but this comment says 9 days ago so yeah I'm not sure when this actually aired but I'm grateful I'm here now!😌 PRAISE YE YAH!!! ALLE-LU-YAH!!! Amen & shalom 🙏💜🕊

Just started watching. This is so amazing ladies, I feel so aligned with the important connection with God/spirituality and our hair. It's something I'll be sharing on my channel as well, and have been feeling led to do so
love it!!!
Wow I am not even halfway the video as yet and I am allready commenting. I agree alot with what she is saying. I personally don't watch youtubers with different hair types 3c ect because it will not help me. I love to see 4c natural long hair. Our hair is our beauty.... I had to figure out that washing my hair every week was to much. I think leaving our hair alone plays a great role. No combing not to much washing. Have a simple regimen and make sure you treat it when needed.
Well said
I stopped combing and trimming my hair as well my hair is finally doing exactly what it supposed to do
Nice!!!
My hair only grows 1/4 of an inch a month too. I really needed this conversation. A lot of great points that made sense. I've decided to trim once a year. It may not be necessary but i like the even look and it gets rid of the ssk's.
you’ve got this…
Just me.... I have to get rid of those ssk the second I feel one. 🎉🎉
All the best!
I have watched some of her videos. I tried a detangling brush maybe once like 10 yrs ago but my hair immediately tangles back up so i never saw a point. Back when i had a perm stylists would say see through ends needed to be clipped but really it was because my hair was not even. If the back of my hair is 6 inches long and the top is also 6 inches long...ofcourse they are going to end in different areas. Her hair is beautiful!
That is something that always bugs me about those Facebook reels of black women getting blunt cuts. The reason given is ALWAYS damage/breakage even when the hair looks healthy and is just growing in uneven.
Thanks for sharing!! well said!❤️
My hair is really long in the front shorter in the back and medium length in the middle and every time I went to a salon, the stylus will cut most of my hair off saying my ends are bad but my hair is healthy and I kept it healthy at home, barely cutting it myself.
Sis, this was great! Precious said so much that I absolutely agree with! You both have been tremendously helpful to me with my hair and I can’t thank you enough. I’ve heard people comment before that people like you are doing the Lords work. I cannot agree more. It’s interesting that when women start taking care of their natural hair AND viewing it the way God does, it grows you spiritually. It’s not JUST hair. He said our hair is our glory, and So It Is!! Thank you so much for this! 🥰🌺
You are so welcome! Thanks for the support
Wonderful and helpful interview! Keep them coming Coilie Diaries. Love both you ladies!💖🙏🏾✊🏾💖

Awesome dialogue! Precious, so much wisdom and I’m here for it! You made absolutely absolutely so much sense!!!!! You understand the hair Journey for real. Love it! I learned something today!
Thank you so much!!
I’m going to try the detangling with my hands only no brushes or combs for the rest of the year
you go girl!!!
I started last year and I have seen such an improvement in my hair
Wow, what an insightful conversation! I appreciate how you both delved into the complexities of natural hair and its deeper significance. It's refreshing to see such open and honest dialogue about embracing our unique hair textures and the challenges we face. Keep up the great content!
Glad you found value

THANK YOU SO MUCH FIR OPENING OUR EYES TO EXPECTANCE OF OUR BEAUTIFUL HAIR IN ITS PUREST FORM 🌹🙌🏽💕
You are so welcome
This video is amazing!!!
I love how transparent she was, patiently explaining her journey.
Honesty will always win, over the hypocritical views, of greedy people, who only care about making money. They don't care about the health of the hair.
It affects every area of a woman's life mentally, psychologically, physically, even spiritually.
We listen to everyone but, not ourselves. This brings down our self esteem/ confidence.
Thank You Coily Diaries, for having this guest on your youtube video.
This is priceless!!!
I wish this information was out years ago, in the 90's and 2000's.
The good thing is, while there's life there's hope, as long as we are
open to learn, and make the necessary change to improve.
WELL said!
I agree with your last statement. I felt the same way too when I finally realised some things about hair care. I actually felt bad and wished I knew the things I knew 21 years ago, or that my mum had the knowledge I have now. I would have had really good and healthy hair. Imagine finally learning the right way to care for my hair after 21 years of being on earth. But I just told myself, "better late than never". At least I now know the right things to do. And if I ever have a daughter in the future, her hair wouldn't go through the same things mine went through, cuz now I know better.
This was a great discussion. Thank you
Glad you enjoyed it!
I just love this, it's the best advice I have heard on utube just the fact that you keep it real is blessing by itself. I never wear my hair out nor do I cut my ends and my hair 4c and beautiful. Thank you so much.
🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Thank you beautiful ladies for such a great video. Loved your energy. I agree our hair is unique, as well as our people❤.
🌺🌺🌺🌺
This was awesome…..thanks for sharing this content with us!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you @PreciousFRO I agree with EVERYTHING you have said! A lot of us bonifide 4C's when we were young and had lengthy hair maintained by our parents, our hair was at its longest and healthiest and our hair was washed 8 weekly! We suffer with dryness hence the barrage of moisturiser our hair consumes whilst caucasian/straighter hair types suffer with greasiness.

So much of what she is saying makes sense. It's making me reevaluate a lot of beliefs I had about my hair.
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Great conversation I will have to rethink some of the things I do to my natural hair. I enjoyed this video. Thanks.

Wowwwww my mind is blown 🤯 from the things she said. I learned a lot. Honestly I feel that God directed me to your page because the things I have heard here, I have never heard from other natural hair RUclipsrs. I’m blessed to gain this knowledge
Amazing 🥰
This was great I have just started really appreciating our hair and how AMAZING it is
thanks 🙏🏽
I’m loving this conversation. Thanks for sharing, ladies. There’s much I need to unlearn: like being scissor happy and combing my hair. I need to start trusting people who’ve succeeded in doing it. Ditching the comb is going to be the most difficult. I know I need to, but it’s just so time consuming to finger detangle. Lord give me the patience.
You can do this 🩷🩷🩷
I started finger detangling January this year almost 4 months now. And it was really hard and time consuming back then. But now that I've gotten the hang of it, it doesn't take that much time at all. Check out advice on RUclips from women that finger detangle. One thing thay helps is a product with a lot of slip. For me, I only detangle on wash days, and I make use of okra water, after which you can do loose twists and rinse it off in the loose twists. Just do your research and do what works best for you. Eventually, you'd get used to it. Just remember, when God created us, he didn't create combs. And he obviously didn't expect us to suffer with tye hair he gave us. So just trust the process. Eventually, it'll get easier, especially if you take good care of your hair.❤
Very good discussion, recently i was removed from a huge natural hair FB group because i said that i don't wash my hair when in longterm protective styles. I used to keep them in for 6 weeks and by the six week you could not even tell that it's 6 weeks hair so clearly that worked for me. On the other hand i tried washing my hair while in mini twists following advice from that same person that removed me from the group and my hair was extremely matted. I was very surprised that such groups do not respect what works and what does not work for the other person and are forcing certain narratives or things that work for them on other people
Wow that is so strange! Natural hair police
Awesome content! I love this conversation. New subscriber to both!
Love it 🥰 welcome sis!
The detangling with hands vs comb was an elegant explanation, i really appreciate the thought behind it, wowwww
🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Great video! For me I don’t even know what type of hair I have or what porosity I have because I feel it’s not accurate the way they do the water test. So far so good my hair is growing nicely this coming May will mark my three years since I went natural. My goal was to have enough hair to at least do a ponytail to my surprise my hair keeps growing to a point I didn’t think it could. Now I have new goal to bra length 😂 because I am following you Coily Diaries now I am twisting natural and adding glycerin to my routine.
Keep going sis🩷
Great interview. My first year i didn't use any comb and i saw the result so this year i am going back tje basic ❤
That's great!
Thanks for sharing 😇
My pleasure 😊
I agree with the speaker. If trimming the ends is a must to help Black hair to grow, how do you explain people growing their hair in locs. I think low manipulation, no heat and protective styling is key.
👍🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
One of the best interviews I've seen ! And so true some of our hair won't be shiny .. plus what said on trimming is soo true ! Its just we dont care our hair also... so right about when we cut it it still grows that shape i see it the same day i trim after i twist it the shape shows back.....I have so much to say but she said it all so well !! Thank you both for this I have to make time to rewatch this

I luv this. Especially the Creator connection with our hair. Glory to Yah. Anecdotally, I have noticed that many (dare I say the majority) of the natural hair movement I've come across online have come from born again or christian sisters. Either way I luv it all! ☝🏽🙏🏽🕊🔥❤

Glad you enjoyed it
Honestly, the rules on trimming/split ends etc. I think are designed around Caucasian hair and not African hair. And I’m over it.
Like most things 😏
Really enjoyed this video..
Awesome, thank you!
Very nicw interview. My favorite part was when she talked about hair that doesn't shine or look glossy. Thank you for saying that. I get so irritated when anyone tells me my hair looks dry. "Yes It does thanks for the compliment". Is going to by my new reaponse❤
😅😅😅👍🏽
I decide to not trim this year and see where it lead. I still trying to figure out what is healthy hair. @preciousFRO love your real talk
it’s truly a journey
This was very beautiful and I enjoyed this video very much. I mostly enjoyed how God was brought into this and the part about algorithms - to view other women with your same beautiful type of hair - so thank you!
This was very humbling and I’m so grateful.
I'm so glad!
I'm so glad!
I'm so glad!
Precious, has said it all. We should be able to embrace our natural hair the way it looks. I don’t trim anymore but I dust the ends of my hair when it needs it. I don’t feel happy each time I trim my hair. It just makes me feel sad and no matter how much I trim my hair, the ends grow out the same. That how God designed it to be. Who am I to condemn it. I used to hate my hair in the past but now I love my hair, I embrace it. My hair is my glory, my pride and my confidence and my beauty.I thank God for giving me such an amazing , unique and beautiful hair. ❤. Thank you my sister for such a wonderful content. God bless you and your family.
you are welcome 🙏🏽
I’m very happy I found Precious. Not only does she have similar hair type to me, she also has a similar face shape (Kibbe Dramatic Classic).
AlyArt (another RUclipsr) advised sculpted styles look best on Dramatic Classics, but didn’t have specific imagery for 4C hair types (although she did have diverse images). Now I can look at Precious and replicate her styles. I don’t use added hair or straighten my hair so she is very helpful.
Nice 👍🏽
I love to watch Precious Fros content finally someone that gets hair and the amount of growth that comes from NOT trimming.

Thank you for this video. I think everyone hair is different. I have been trying to grow my hair for 9 years without washing it monthly on a protective style. My hair did not grow much. I started washing my hair weekly using my own natural hair products. My hair has almost doubled. I do my own herbal oil, conditioner, and hair wash
Love this for you 🙏🏽

She is definitely right about combs and brushes. Noone ever thinks abot this, but it's true.

P.s my hair also is 20ins long because of not using combs or cutting my hair ,I will never use combs or cut my hair.
love it!!!
@BlackGirlNature yes
This is so good. Love that she loves God!
❤️❤️❤️❤️
I have been using my fingers only to detangle for months now. I get less breakage now.
it truly is a game changer!!!
That is one of the reasons I never liked going to a hair salon because they have gotten away from personal treatment and started doing one cut one style for all no matter what texture of hair you have... I don't believe they know what split ends look like, and when they don't they are cutting off your growth every time you sat in their chair .... truth be known they are there just to make your hair LOOK PRETTY .
🤔🤔🤔🤔
