Kim isn't who she is because she's dating Jimmy. Kim is dating Jimmy because of who she is.
She never disagrees with Jimmy on the morality or the ethics of what he does, only on the practical risks it brings to him and she justifies Saul's actions more than he does.
She's not a fallen angel that needs saving from Saul, she's the Yin to Saul's Yang.
And even if he influenced her, she influenced him back as well, and now they have both reached a balanced meeting point.
She's the Walter White of this show. The person who has been "good" their whole life, and over the course of a couple years, their bad side takes over.
Calling it now. Kim goes to hiding and they will reunite when Jimmy's Sandpiper Crossing settlement is reached.
@@pulkmees Kim can't testify against him, so I think she will be in the same position as Skyler was in the final episodes of Breaking Bad. They will try to scare Kim, but she'll know how to lawyer her way out of trouble.
@@bettercallmaul5810 Maybe someone will bail her out with a lottery ticket...lol
And to think Lalo and Nacho were just throwaway lines in Breaking Bad!!
And to think that they made an ENTIRE spinoff show just to explain this ONE line!!! 63 episodes!!! With each episode standing on their own, but also slowly leading up to this!!! HOLY FUCK!!!!
And even perfectly written as BB
@@yitoproductions They didn't make this show to explain this line.
@@kuhpunkt yeah I'm aware, but the way it comes across though truly makes it seem like it was their plan all along from the beginning. For example, why would they introduce Ignacio in the 2nd episode (or just the show in general), if it wasn't their intent to make that connection later on? They could've named him something else, but they chose not to. They explicitly wanted him to be named Ignacio.
@@yitoproductions Yes, but they didn't have much of a plan. The original idea even was to turn Jimmy into Saul after the season 1 finale... they changed their minds. Or Vince just recently said that he didn't want Lalo to be in the show. It was never about that one line... they just wanted to tell Jimmy's story and then see where it goes.
I love how as we get closer to breaking bad, season by season, the show starts to feel more like breaking bad
This is better then breaking bad
@@Itstherealdeal453 100%
@@Itstherealdeal453 nahh
@@Itstherealdeal453 no
@@Itstherealdeal453 i know a lot of people are gonna disagree with you but i actually agree. This is just a little bit better than breaking bad in terms of writing. Some people say the show is too slow for them and thats fine
Peter Gould said this in an interview this week:
"I think by the time you finish watching Better Call Saul, you're going to see Breaking Bad in a very different light. I think we're going to learn things about the characters in Breaking Bad that we didn't know. We're going to learn things about the events of Breaking Bad that we didn't know. And we're going to learn things about the fates of a lot of these characters that may surprise people or certainly throw them into a different light."
This is really interesting. The way he phrased it makes it kind of obvious that we will see events taking place during Breaking Bad, but that we have never seen before. It's fun to try and imagine what that could be.
I can imagine Nacho or Lalo still being active/alive then and causing issues for Gus that would explain even more why he got more and more upset and on edge as the story progressed in BB.
@@RestlessTome I think that's possible, but I also think that is happening already - watching Saul in Breaking Bad is completely different now, realizing that he is just playing a character. It makes the entire show feel different when you realize it is Gus, Mike, and Jimmy's story and Walt is just the final boss they all lost to.
I wouldn't be surprised if we get at least one episode that is Saul over the years to transition us from BCS to Nebraska, with some scenes that take place concurrant with Breaking Bad
Interesting. A lot of people theorise that a portion of the final season of BCS will take place DURING BB, but with Saul as the main focus of course. We already kinda got a tease for that this season with the scene of Saul leaving his office in BB. This certainly could imply exactly that happening, but for a longer stretch than one scene.
Breaking Bad is Walt's story. Saul took it upon himself to hire Walt and helped him build a meth empire, and Saul was only introduced because he was Emilio's lawyer, and Jesse knew how great Saul was because of him.
And it's not Gus or Mike's story either. Even with BCS explaining more of Mike's story, he still isn't given nearly as much importance as Walt.
Mike is part of the criminal underworld, and he is doing what he does to leave money for his family. Walt is also doing to the same for his family. By saying that he is simply the "final boss" is dumb.
This franchise is about making bad choices. Saul was doomed to fail, regardless if he teamed up with Walt or not. That's what Bad Choice Road was about. In fact, that's what Lantern was about, when Chuck said that he'd always be a crooked person.
The final season will be 13 episodes. I think it will wrap up the BCS timeline, then go into the BB timeline, then end with the Gene timeline.
Lalo is my favorite character he’s just so complex. Positive in a field that is illegal/negative. Always smiling in a world full of death. Smart as hell amongst liars and thieves
This comment doesn't make any god damn sense.
@@xhan1167how??
@@xhan1167he is completely complex, and where he might be weak in one field, he makes for it in another… with a smile on this face😂

I might be in the minority here but my absolute favorite moment of this episode was at the very end.
Lalos footsteps slowly getting louder to the point where they sound like claps of thunder.
I got chills when I heard that. I hope Lalo turns ABQ upside fucking down on it's head and just goes ballistic.
Amen. It’s gonna be so awesome.
It's one of the best pieces of sound editing in the entire series.
Poor Rana, bamboozled out of one more episode...
That was so funny.
"Oooh the trickery !"
23:51 I loved that RTD2 scream tho
@@MarkHogan994 “Oooh the chicanery!”
A few things you did not notice.
1) The scene where the other lawyer is harassing and following Saul down the hallway is an obvious callback to when Saul went crazy on Howard in that previous episode. I'm surprised no one made that connection.
2) This one Suraj kind of picked up on. You can see Mike warn Gus that fear is not an effective motivator, which Gus will later tell MIKE in BB when Mike suggests scaring Jessy into compliance. This is proof that in the final season something will happen in relation to Nacho that will make Gus change his mind about this ideology of his. On the same topic, also notice how in that episode Mike tries to share some of his wisdom with other main characters, reminding us of how he tried that too with Jesse and Walt.
3) The reason Kim intervenes with Lalo in that final scene of episode 9 is because Jimmy mentions to Lalo that Lalo can go get the money back from the bag. She realizes that the mug with the bullet hole is in there too and that if Lalo sees it he will know for sure that Saul is lying. So, yea, she did that because she thought on her feet and wanted to save both of them. Plus, what she said to Lalo was true. She made him realize that if he cannot trust anyone from his own organization, that he should reconsider his situation. I think he respected her for that and thats why he left.
4) What Kim did at the end of episode 10 was imitate Saul with the guns motion that he had done at the end of last season. Not sure how you missed that.
As an aside, props to you for noticing that Saul was planning to leave her in that one scene. Notice, though, how he just could not do it and change his mind at the last minute. This was heavily reminiscent of how each time one of them realize they'd probably be better off leaving each other, they are unable to do so.
Finally, concerning Kim, well, you pretty much missed half of what she said in the final conversation they had in episode 10, but she seems to have realized who she really is and she is heading that way because she thinks it is what will make her happy. As she tried to point out to Jimmy in episode 9, she is doing exactly what he was doing at the beginning of the season, when he argued that he could not be Jimmy McGill anymore. He had to move on.
I'm not sure why it's so hard to just accept that Kim is making her own choices and that she believes in them. Stop always trying to find excuses for why she is making her own decisions. It's not because of Saul, it's not because she's in shock, she's not losing her mind. This is who she is. It's part of what makes her character really interesting.
My biggest worry coming into BCS was that only Saul would be interesting and that there would be some fun cameos. However, they not only expanded on already existing BB characters, but added multiple new ones that are fully fleshed out and complex human beings. Kim, Chuck, Howard, Nacho, Lalo, etc. Top notch! Bravo Gould and co.
I can't wait for the final season. We are going to see how these characters play out in the BB timeline.
Thanks for making these points. Really really good show
@@GateWeston Agreed.
Think you need to give these guys some slack man haha. They can interpret the show how they want - just like you. If they want to see it less in depth than you then let them, don’t take it personally and be annoyed about it lol. Good points about the show but think you’re being a bit too harsh on the normies for not noticing some stuff - it’s not that deep, it’s a tv show they’re enjoying, don’t worry
Number 2 is wrong, Mike says to Gus he should tell WALTER that he is the only thing between him and an axe to the head, nothing about fear on Jesse.
How free are you?
Regarding Kim's finger pistols. It was the same that Jimmy gave her during season 4 finale when she realized he was changing his name.
Jimmy: I'm going to need a DBA because I'm not going to be practicing under the name McGill....
Kimmy: Jimmy, Jimmy, What?!
Jimmy: Saul Good man *Finger Pistols*
and here....
Jimmy: Kim, you can't be series.
Kim: *Finger pistols*
Broo never noticed this. THIS is why I love vince and peters writing it’s so subtle but always is foreshadowed and paid off.
FREE GUCCI man its incredible how much Su tle attention to detail there is. You can watch these shows multiple times and keep pulling in new things. Best TV shows (BB/BCS) I have ever seen
Yeah I was expecting a bigger reaction from them to Kim's finger pistols. Jimmy is terrified of watching Kim act exactly like him.
*serious
I was thinking that was her way of teaching him a lesson. Scaring him straight regarding right from wrong. She won't be "Gimme Kimmie" She'll still be her moral self. Remember, she chose pro bono cases to make a difference in peoples lives so why would she go opposite that?
I loved BCS from the beginning and felt it was a brilliant addition to the BB universe. During season 4 I started to feel it may be eclipsing BB among the best shows of all time and season 5 confirmed for me that BCS is ahead of BB which is remarkable.

It was very good.
Kim was doing the finger guns like how Jimmy did that to her in the season 4 finale when he said "It's all good man."
Does anyone else wish BB or BCS gave us a ONE SCENE ..just one ... of all the Salamanca family members in one room tuco, lalo, the brothers, hector, don eladio ALL OF THEM

Jimmy did the finger guns when he got his law license back and BECAME Saul Goodman. When Kim finger gunned him, it was her saying “this is the new Kim”

Kim leaves to her home in Nebraska when she learns that her mother is dying of liver cirrhosis from alcoholism. Bolsa gets blamed for the attack on Lalo because Nacho turns up and is protected by Bolsa. Lalo gets apprehended crossing the border and is deported to a Mexican prison. This leaves them both alive when Saul mentions their names during Breaking bads Better Call Saul episode. In the flash forwards, Saul is in Nebraska where Kim so happens to be. The finale will be in BB's future as they meet up again. Surprise ending 6 years from this season 5 episode.

Man.. I was rewatching their Breaking Bad reactions and I miss Hannah's input so much! Its a shame she was not able to react to BCS.
They are all such good actors, great writing, and great scenes.
That gun point was mirror of last season when Jimmy broke bad
Omg, thanks for uploading it the same day 🙏
VINCE GILLIGAN is coming back for the final season completely..
He's been in and out of the writers room.. But for the BIG season finale, the "god" of this universe is coming back with both feet...
Don't get me wrong I don't want to disrespect *Peter gould* he's really good but... Vince and Peter together is some different fire 🔥🔥🔥
Yeah Vince is a great director. Bagman was just so... fucking great
@FEAR The Walking Don It's like Star Wars. George Lucas created and envisioned most of it but Dave Filoni enriched it with the Clone Wars and Rebels and now the Mandalorian. ik some ppl will consider this comparison to be stupid but that's the closest I can get
@FEAR The Walking Don Lucas didn't write anything for The Last Jedi. That was all Rian Johnson and co. In Fact, he had a completely different plan for the sequels. But anyways, I don't think Vince will mess up, because these writers, Gould and others are literally working TOGETHER (over a zoom call but still) so I think that they should come up with a solid story
@FEAR The Walking Don nah if they create more spin offs it will feel like they are milking the show. The one aspect I would love more emphasis on however is what happened to Gus in Santiago, how he came to work for Eladia and the Salamancas family backstory. If they do not show this in S6 they can simply make a cartel centric movie out of it and the best part, you need not be familiar with BrBa lore to understand it
@FEAR The Walking Don Not sure that the writers would indulge much in it but I'd sure love it
LOL Rana's reaction when she found out this was the season finale!
tbf, we all wish that there was more episodes. More BCS is never bad
I think this is what Saul meant when he said "It wasn't me, it was Ignacio!"
17:17 I think Nahid was the only one not that surprised to see the gunmen in tactical gear since he's already seen the nasty cartel videos haha. A lot of cartels were former military, police, or even special forces.
I loved the part where Jimmy finally tells Kim the truth about what happened when he picked up the money....Kim doesn't say anything but she is listening intently...then when Jimmy says, "one of them put a gun to my head"....you could literally see the anguish in her face and feel the shock that goes through her body....best acting EVER and she didn't even have to say one word.....murder is such a horrible thing.....I also love the scene in "Bad Choice Road" where Jimmy, after surviving being stranded in the desert, tells Kim, "I almost gave up....the only thing that kept me going is knowing you were here waiting for me"....i sure hope season 6 doesn't tell us she dies....i don't think i could stand it...maybe Ed, the disappearer, will send her to Belize......literally....LOL
Mercenary said that job is done and Lalo is dead, that's probably why in BB Gus mentioned to Hector that all Salamancas are dead cause he thought so, but in fact Lalo could've survived whole BB and still alive. Huge plot twist.
exactly, that's why in the BCS flash-forwards Saul is extremely paranoid, because he's probably scared of Lalo still coming after him.
But Why didn't he help Hector the twins or tuco?
@@user-zu5qz3ko8e Maybe thats why when Walt and Jesse being taken by Tuco to desert(where he was killed by Hank) to move them to mexico, Hector was also there, so i assume Tuco's job was also to get Hector home and i think it was an order from Lalo. And the reason he wasn't with the rest of Cartel when they all were slaughtered by Gus, cause he didn't knew who to trust, as Kim gave him this thought, so he was doing all his business from hiding.
@@MattMajcan I thought it was because of law enforcement
Im 100% sure that Lalo is dead in BB, it makes no sense for his character to wait 4+ years to get revenge on Gus at all and if for some reason he did wait then he would go after the man that killed Gus Fring: Heisemberg.
He doesnt have a personal thing against Saul so thats off the table too.
He is gonna try to get revenge in S6 and die in the proccess.
I think a big factor to Kimmy’s turn is the money. Ever since Acker called her out on being one of the “best rich people” is exactly what she’s doing with her pro bono cases. The money is a factor to her doing these crazy PD cases to tell herself that she’s still a good person. Her morality is very much blurred now.
Good call.
Score in this episode gave me goosebumps and reminded me a bit of Heat.
Cool reaction😊
Look forward to Season six.
in your spare time y'all should check out the channel Ological, the guy does amazing breakdowns of better call saul. his season five stuff is amazing, really helped me understand a lot of kim's motivation and he picks up on so many little things Peter Gould drops in (like the color motifs you guys have picked up on but even more). not to pimp out someone else's channel in your comments lol but it's great content and i think you guys would love it based on how you talk about the show and how much you like the little details.
Lalo had a solo team wipe.
The count down starts..to Fall 2021. I read somewhere that the writers haven't even finished the scripts 😵let alone start production. Yikes!!

One of the best episodes of the series. Beautiful.
I hope Dustin & Hannah would join the group to react to season 6 too 😆 And here's my predictions of 6:
1. Saul would get a car from Lalo
2. Lalo would be killed by Nacho
3. We'll see Tuco's sister / Gonzo's wife
4. Lyle would be killed
5. Howard would not be dead, but he'll got vacuumed
6. Kim would not be dead, but she would betray Saul. Kim would breaking Saul's trust so much so it made Saul never even mind to mention her afterward. Kim would became another unecessary past for Saul, just like Chuck.
Oh and i also kinda excited to see:
1. how Saul saved Emilio Koyama (twice)
2. how Tortuga betrayed Bolsa
3. How Saul build Vamonous Pest with Ira & Todd
4. how Hector got out from nursing home
Lmao

The great thing is at this point, we don't know that Lalo was dead in Breaking Bad. It could be that everyone (Gus and Hector included) thought he was dead, and he is still out there. Maybe it will come up in the Gene plotline...😏😏😏
Yeup, exactly!
Lalo told that one assassin at the very end to call in that Lalo was dead. So now Gus and everyone else is going to think Lalo is dead.
It's not outside the realm of possibility for Lalo to fake his own death again. In fact, that would make things so much more interesting if Lalo faked his death a second time.
It would make no sense for Lalo to wait 4+ years to get revenge on Gus (the man that tried to kill him) and he doesnt really have anything against Saul either because he did got his money after all.

I think we are almost caught up time wise in Better Call Saul to when in Breaking Bad Jessie and Walter kidnap Saul and Saul thinks it's Lalo who has kidnapped him at first and he was like "no it was Ignatio" ie Nacho. Saul must have heard likely by Mike that Nacho survived the assignation attempt and it would have been natural for Saul to have it in the back of his mind that Lalo may think since the last place he visited before the assassination attempt was to Saul and Kim, maybe the two lawyers were involved somehow. Anyway, if the timeline is caught up, we may see some of Jessie and Walter's characters in Season 6.
You have noticed that Howard is the bully from community Jeff fights in the Chistmas episode, right?

I don't think Kim's unhinged at all. Howard (rightfully so) attacked Jimmy's character, just like Chuck, Lalo and even Kevin have in the past. She has always deemed Jimmy worthy so anytime someone attacks HIM they attack HER as well, even if they would never mean it. Remember the flashback to her waiting for her mom? She's always had a problem with people "above" her telling her they know better than she does. (Howard as her boss, Chuck as a senior partner, Lalo as a murderous cartel member threatening them, Kevin as her most important client and the basis for her career and her mom as....her mom)
Next season guys
What breed of dog is that
It always pays to keep an eye on Kim's ponytail.

There are some strange rumors going around about Breaking Bad season 6.
reason why he left his the hatch to his escape route open is for his people, he cares about them. Lalo is such an amazing, terrifying character
actually it was to lure them inside it while we came back from outside so he could pull the move that he did (shooting them inside the tunnel)
He literally used one of them as a human shield 😂
You guys should do Lovecraft Country as your next live action show. The show is bonkers

Lalo is dead.
Jesse isnt in Nebraska afaik.
Kim...maybe.
@@zsoliddanys1083 Idk if Lalo is dead since in Breaking Bad Jimmy still believes he's alive but then again I would imagine that he would have gone after Gus in BB if he were alive... idk but I'm excited to find out!

I honestly think Kim pushes Jimmy further... He's always been a schemer, but he's clearly not into this major cartel stuff. He's shook and she is fine and talking about destroying Howard's life. Jimmy plays loose with the law. Kim is going dark.
I like the idea that Kim and Jimmy are still connected in someway during the events of BB. That would make him a more tragic character, having to disappear and leave the one person that's always had his back. There's speculation she is the call Saul and Francesca were discussing in the scene that jimmy was preparing to go to the vacuum cleaner guy.

I have a bad feeling Lalo is going to kill off Nacho's Father as payback for Yolanda's (Best cook in Chihuahua) death based on that scene when Lalo sees her body. And then either Nacho or Kim will be killed by Lalo, the other will live on with a new identity. Either Nacho, Mike or Gus will be the one to take out Lalo. I love Kim's character and her development is so interesting. We always saw that rebellious side in her and it is just taking upper hand now.
They dont care about Howard because he is this typicial priviliged, upper class, fake smile laywer. Sacrifice him to be able to open a pro bono office would be like a Robin Hood thing. Of course Howard doesn't deserve this but he just has a talent to upset people when trying to be nice. He shouldn't have questioned Kim's personal decesions because this is something she really hates especially from somebody like him.

my pet theory is that Peter Gould is trying to make Kim what The worst Breaking Bad fans wanted Skylar to be. It kinda makes sense for Kim and Lalo to get together. Ultimate power couple.

@@Ueltomas I guess Mike and Saul would defeat that couple tho ;
I'm not entirely convinced Kim is really trying to do this to Howard. She may be. She's certainly not talked Jimmy down from doing bad things in the past. But I half wonder if this is her trying to see just how far Jimmy is willing to go if no one will stand up to him. It could be she's setting him up so that if he does go through with it she'll know he really is as bad as Howard and Chuck claim(ed).
This only makes sense if you ignore literally every other scene of Kim in the entire series.

I want Lalo to show up in the present Jimmy (black and white) part and he has to face him in present day.
Nah he is dead already and he doesnt have a personal thing against Jimmy.
@@zsoliddanys1083 it's not guaranteed that he is dead because in a scene of breaking bad Saul thinks he is getting kidnapped by his men and says "Did Lalo send you?! It wasn't me it was Ignacio (Nacho)"
Howard pissed her off. She loves Jimmy like her nom. She has to take care of him
25:03 BABIE
The birth of slippin' Kimmy.
...was back in season 1 when she defended Jimmy against Chuck's accusations, as far as I can tell. Or was that season 2? The scene where she went off on Chuck for assuming the worst of Jimmy (and then afterwards she slapped Jimmy).
Anyone else disappointed that those so called assassin's were the best Gus could find? For me it takes him down a peg as a criminal mastermind and for the first time makes him look like he doesn't know what the hell he's doing.
I mean Lalo is a badass too. Gus is a Mastermind and his assassins would have killed anyone else but Lalo has the brains of Gus and combat skills of Mike so it's not easy to take him down.
@@mrinmoydas2668 He doesnt have the brains of Mike tho...Mike is gonna kill his ass.
Nacho is not a rat. Rat means a police informant.
Nacho vs Lalo season 6!
22:22 Death Kim
If you guys had to not talk for 2 seconds just to save your life, you'd all be dead immediately.
Nacho and his dad are most likely dead. Kim probably will try something with Howars and go to prison.
