The character developments in this show are outstanding
The Jimmy-Kim interaction to close out Season 5 is a reversal of how the duo closed out Season 4. The finger guns followed by a slow zoom out on the partner.
Jimmy did not create this new Kim.... Jimmy has revealed the true Kim that has always been there.
Kim finally broke bad. Pew pew. In all honesty she DOES NOT want to lose Jimmy. She has abandonment issues with how her alcoholic mother was and how she had to move from home to home in the middle of the night to avoid rent. She comes from a broken home, she craves stability and no matter how messed up Jimmy is and what’s he’s into, he brings her a sense of stability and having someone always there for her to come home to.
Psychology is fascinating huh, I mean that completely genuinely
In a way he’s also bringing more chaos and instability into her life but i guess that’s all she knew growing up so she finds comfort in it
It's insulting to Kim to say Jimmy is corrupting her. It's basically what Hamlin was getting at and you can see what Kim thought about that. She has always had this in her. Ever since we saw her love doing it in season 1 to Ken, the investor at the bar, to change Mesa Verde's bank branch. To quote Walt, "She likes it, she's good at it". It's much less Jimmy turning her into this and much more, Jimmy enticed/allows Kim to not play it straight.
She has been encouraging and enabling Jimmy all along.
I have said this multiple times, and I am more and more certain about it: As soon as Howard talked bad about Jimmy to Kim, she decided Howard was going down.

Yep. Kim's mom being an alcoholic hints that Kim has a monster inside of her. Just like every human does, she has the darkness in her genetics(once upon a time we brutally murdered each other without hesitation). But she repressed that side of her self pretty much completely to take on a good girl persona out of fright that she will become like her mother, went the lawyer route and all. Was a super good girl, the opposite of her irresponsible alcoholic mother. Jimmy becomes irresistible to her because he is the manifestation of the dark side within her in another human being. Since Kim has repressed this side of her self, without it she is incomplete and she needs it from another human such as her mother or Jimmy. When she thinks about leaving Jimmy after he backstabs her in the lawsuit she starts to break bad as her shadow self slowly reveals itself to balance the psyche. Kim is basically becoming more of her true self.
@@uncommonmix I think we're going to find out more about her past in the next season. I have a feeling some secret might be revealed. I get the impression that her love and dedication to Jimmy is so earnest because she never really had that before, so she feels the need to protect him in return.

My prediction for next season is that Kim goes through with the plan to hurt Howard and ends up getting caught by the law. Her being in prison during BB times makes the most sense to me. I'd prefer that over her dying or her and jimmy breaking up.
I think she listens to Howard and she's somehow gonna be playing Jimmy to bring him down before he does more damage. Her behavior when they were talking about hurting Howard him seemed unnatural. I had the same feeling about Howard at that lunch when he offered Jimmy a job. Superb acting in this show btw :)

Kim’s doing “free” work. Public defense cases with people that can’t afford their own lawyers. She will likely not see anything that connects to Lalo at all.

This is a theory and they are caught up so it's impossible for me to spoil anything.
I think 1 of 2 things is going to happen with Kim.
Either they stay married, And Kim is simply a successful lawyer somewhere in Albuquerque that they never mentioned in breaking bad even though Saul was married and going home to her every night. We never heard about her because Jimmy is so protective of her. And in breaking bad we met saul not Jimmy. We never knew because she literally had nothing to do with any of it. That's what I hope ends up being the scenario.
The one that I just thought of is more likely. I think they are going to follow through with this pillow talk plan and try to frame Howard for doing something. They're gonna get caught and Kim is gonna go to prison for it. And THAT why we never saw her in breaking bad.
She living under and alias already. She knows the vacuum cleaner guy and is the one who tells Saul about. She disappears again.
The biggest problems I see with the whole "Kim was there and Jimmy went home to her every night in Breaking Bad, we just didn't see him outside of work" are:
- Kim wasn't there when Saul needed to flee. Yes, she likely wouldn't be in any trouble herself as any involvement she'd have had would have been behind the scenes and unknown to all but Jimmy. I'd still imagine they'd want to remain together.
- Jimmy hitting on Francesca and offering to follow her home and his "happy ending(s?)" in his office.
I'm guessing that the 3 PM phone call that Francesca is going to wait for (referenced in the flash-forward in "Quite A Ride") is from Kim. Perhaps Kim had to flee and it's her check-in with Jimmy on Jimmy's birthday. Also going to guess that the attorney he sent Francesca to may be Howard given the "tell him Jimmy sent you." Maybe Jimmy does something to save Howard from whatever Kim's planning and Howard "owes him one."
Of the two scenarios you presented, I believe the prison scenario is far more likely.

Also I like the Kim is on the run thing. That's interesting to consider. Thinking how she would behave in contrast to Jimmy or even Walt when forced to leave everything behind.
@@hbk314 There's also the "webisodes" they made during Breaking Bad's run, one of which shows Saul "getting a visit" from a prostitute in his office. Though I'm not sure if those are considered canon.

I think Kim got into trouble as a juvenile.
I think Nacho take's refuge at Bolsa's home since both Bolsa and Gus wanted Lalo out of the picture, then after Lalo is caught crossing the border with the help of Mike and put in a Mexican Prison, Mike take's Nacho and his father to their safe haven in Mexico. Kim will find out that her mother is dying from alcoholic liver disease and moves back to Nebraska. In a surprise series finale, Saul Goodman bumps into Kim in Omaha a few days after he shockingly kills the taxi driver at gunpoint and rolls his car into a river. They remarry under assumed names. Geselle and Chuck Lwryup.

Hey guys! Yall are my favorite video reactors out of anybody on RUclips, hands down. And you guys have really got me to a point of wanting to make reaction videos myself. i think you’re exactly right with kim’s “breaking bad” moment… she realized her potential when she stood up to lalo and saved jimmy… she knows that jimmy is going down this path no matter what, and she knows she can help him.
i think her line where she says “wouldn’t i”? to jimmy is so powerful. there are so many clues in season 1-5 that kim loves the cons just as much as jimmy does. However, she does tend to waver back and forth, which i think she will continue to do as the stakes become higher
Interesting, at the end of season 4 Jimmy did the gun slinging finger thing to Kim when he decided he was changing his name to Saul Goodman. Now here at the end of Season 5 Kim does the same thing towards Jimmy lol. Jimmy also had the same expression of shock on his face that Kim had towards Jimmy after the courtroom scene in season 4 finale. My have the tables have turned. But to be fair, I do not think Jimmy has corrupted Kim. I believe she's always had a bad side in her. She has been holding it back. I think Howard opened up some old wounds and now Kim is showing her true colors. Remember last season for example she came up with the idea of how to keep Hue from going to jail? Well her scheme was actually way better than Jimmy's. I truly believe Kim has finally embraced her dark side.

Remember how scared Saul was on Breaking Bad of Lalo? Lalo's scary! I think he kills Kim in the future
Saul being so afraid of Lalo years from "now" brings up some questions with interesting implications for next season: Saul in BB Season 2 obviously believes Lalo Salamanca is still alive and a threat, yet in Season 4 after Gus takes out the entire cartel leadership with poison tequila, he comes back & tells Hector that all his relatives are now dead, Hector is the last remaining Salamanca. Assuming Lalo doesn't somehow die offscreeen during BB Season 3 which would just be dramatically unforgiveable, one of them is misinformed. I'm guessing it's Saul: Lalo makes his presence known to Jimmy in Better Call Saul Season 6 but for some reason doesn't kill him (he could still be taking Kim's words to heart and be thinking that they, or at least she, could be useful to have around), But Jimmy is not clued in to whatever events result in Gus triumphing over Lalo in their inevitable final confrontation. Because there is no way in hell Lalo comes stomping into next season and does not immediately come after Gus (and Nacho, of course), so the very fact that Gus lives to appear in Breaking Bad means he must defeat Lalo next season.
...As for Nacho, sorry to say it does not look good. Hopefully his father will be spared, but I'm afraid I do not see a Netflix movie about Nacho managing to make his way to Alaska to start a new life in Michael Mando's future.
Nah, there's no way Saul would be the "clown" that he is in Breaking Bad if he actually suffered that loss just a few years earlier.

Howard only offered Saul a job when Saul was lamenting Chuck's death, and Howard he could control him. Saul may have loved the law and Howard couldn't care less about Saul's existence except to bring him down.
These next episodes with the sportscars, Eladio scenes, and cartel stories highlight a lot with Better Call Saul.
