    Also Lalo DID trust Nacho. I feel like Kim's verbal abuse made him realize that even though he didn't fully trust Nacho to go pick up the money, he's just about the closest guy he can trust, which is why he brings him to Mexico to regroup and give him the promotion.
    Of course now he knows the truth.

      @@allhailtheking6039 I mean, not really. We saw that Lalo didn't buy that Gus was building an industrial freezer. He didn't believe that Werner went back to Germany. He didn't believe Jimmy's story after some time to think about it.
      Lalo is intelligent, so him being oblivious to Nacho betraying him is pretty weird. Also remember that Lalo said he didn't have Nacho pick up the money because he's liable to run off with it, so he trusts Saul of all people to get the money.

    • @CloudMountainJuror
      @CloudMountainJuror 4 года назад +24

      Agreed. I definitely think Lalo trusted Nacho more than we were led to believe, and that it was just hard for us to tell because Lalo himself is hard to read. But Nacho had actually low-key earned his trust throughout the season, and things had been going so well for Lalo (outside the arrest) that...why would he suspect Nacho had been turning on him? Sure he didn't trust Nacho to get the money, but I think Kim's speech convinced him that, maybe he should have. Maybe instead of dumping this on Saul, he *should* have trusted the guy who as far as he could tell had been loyal and hard-working to the Salamancas and to him. Which is why he decided to bring Nacho with him after Kim went off, to promote him. She convinced Lalo to invest in Nacho, because if he couldn't invest in a right-hand man as "loyal" as Nacho, then Lalo really must be horrible at his job, right? I think that final shot doubles as a reveal of just how much Lalo genuinely did trust Nacho. Which makes it all the worse for what's coming.
      That said...maybe the show could have could have dialed down how freaked out Nacho appeared to be in certain scenes, to make it more believable that Lalo wouldn't catch onto his body language.

    • @allhailtheking6039
      @allhailtheking6039 4 года назад +5

      @@Jeremy-jm3fe the difference between the Saul situation as opposed to Nacho's situation is that Nacho even before Lalo was ever introduced, Nacho was already working with the Salamancas, so my guess is that considering that he was already part of the "family" Nacho officially solidified himself as a guy you can trust in Lalo's eyes when he risked to go to jail to get the money. When it comes to Gus, i know that if i was a Salamanca i would never trust Gus in the first place.

    One of Kim's strengths is also her Achilles' heel; she has zero tolerance for anyone telling her how she feels or that they know her better than she knows herself. And she will sometimes make bad choices to prove that wrong. She doesn't like feeling like a passenger (eg. the idea that Jimmy is a bad influence on her), so she'll take the wheel and go all-in to prove she's making her own decisions. This is how Kim breaks bad. 🛎🍳🔓🍔🛁

    • @TheAnimationkid101
      @TheAnimationkid101 4 года назад +15

      Beautifully put. Probably a pattern of behaviour she developed when she was younger. Her mother clearly was neglectful of her so Kim developed a sense of autonomy as a reflex to an untrustworthy parent. But there are moments where that autonomy turns into stubbornness as a way for her to posture to others that she's isn't a passenger and she knows what she's doing. The scene with her saying she knows Jimmy more than Howard is an example of this. Jimmy is obviously trouble but she loves him, so to not look like a fool to herself or others she must permit his behaviour and make use of it, heck even team up with him to show she has agency in her decision making. I think at this point she's actually enjoying it.

    Detail that might easily be overlooked:
    "Leave out the mint chip."
    Jimmy specifically refuses to eat the same kind of ice cream as the one that he left melting on the sidewalk, that got corroded by ants.
    Before Nacho ambushed him to take him to see Lalo, that mint chip ice cream was the one thing Jimmy was looking forward to consuming after having a terrible day. The ice cream is an opportunity at any peace of mind, and it was corroded by all of the criminals (ants) that Jimmy's skillset attracts.

      @FEAR The Walking Don Lalo and Nacho only exist in the show Better Call Saul because they were then mentioned by Saul Goddman, when the writers of Breaking Bad didn't even dream of a sequel or prequel. They prob'ly were at first just a means of showing us how deeply involved in serious and heavy shit the criminal lawyer was. When the perspective of a prequel featuring Saul Goodman landed as a certainty, then those characters of his shady previous life became a thing. Anyways, some cross-over will surely happen between the timelines of the two shows, that's now unavoidable.

    I don't think "a monster has been created". I believe the monster in Kim was already there. When she says she makes her own decisions, she's not just saying it. She realized she can do what she actually wants. From her perspective, one career drawback of one lawyer who definitely has his issues is justifiable harm in exchange of getting to help poor people the same way millionaires get their defense.
    Jimmy has been thinking all along that he was the one taking Kim on a bad road, but it was just the real Kim being awakened. Btw, that last "Pew pew" from Kim is a beautiful parallel to the way season 4 ended when Jimmy turns around, does the finger thing, and says "S'all good, man". This time, he was the one getting shocked and confused.

      I like that Lalo called her Ms. Goodman, that sounds like her end game. And I recently realized that Lalo's alias, "de Guzman", sounds like Goodman too, it's like the writers were placing him as Saul's nemesis.

    Something to think about:
    Gus and Lalo both use boiling oil to get out of a situation. Gus uses it to destroy his own restaurant and deceive his enemy. Lalo uses it in a violent fashion to hurt his enemy. This perfectly mirrors the difference between how Gus and the Salamancas do business as a whole.

    All this time, we’d been fearing Gus to be the one to kill Nacho’s father. When little did we know, Lalo will be the one to pull the trigger. That image of Lalo looking at the two glasses, followed by him discovering his dead mother...there’s no way Lalo will let that go unpunished. And no way the writers won’t call & parallel back to that in a horrible way as revenge against Nacho’s betrayal. Nacho will be forced to either call in for a new vacuum model or taken out. No other road for him. And a Mike vs Lalo showdown will certainly result as an outcome. As far as Kim & Saul? I think Steven said it best: Saul realizes he’s created a monster, one who will break bad even more than himself. Season 6 is going to be a foot slammed down on the gas pedal. The fact that Tuco will be getting out of jail next season, should make us shit our pants. As far as I see it, it’ll topple Breaking Bad by the end. Given it’ll be 13 episodes, I see the final 3 being something truly special. From cameos, to resolving present day Gene, it’s gonna be wild. Here’s to one more badass season! 🛎🍳🔓🍔🛁

    For those who keep asking why Kim is with Jimmy and hasn't left him, this finale was ya'll answer lol. Beside the fact she does care and love him, she likes that life, probably more than Jimmy at this point given she wants to defend and get into more felony and criminal cases. She is aware of what she is doing and is aware of the danger but still there is something within her that she either craves for the danger or just gives her life or something lol. Its very interesting and why I think next season we will focus more on her than ever before, more on her past I mean. Something in her past lead her to love and hate this type of lifestyles, yes plural. Her mother was a drunk, she seemed in that small snippet that she depended a lot on herself because her mother wasn't there in that way. What about her dad, sibling, extended family? Was she at some point so close to that life that it made her turn around and be the complete opposite hence why she became a lawyer and enforcer of the law? But yet part of her still misses that life or wants to be in between or walk the line because its her way to balance her darker most inner thoughts? Often times when people are this good at a job and overwork their asses off to make it, typically they have a very big trampoline (dark or troubled past) that helped them leap to this level of success.

    I don’t think Kim has a tragic end. Remember this: Breaking Bad NEVER shows Saul’s personal life. We never even see him at his house or what he does off-hours.
    “Ice Station Zebra Associates” is the name of the holding company Saul uses in Breaking Bad for tax-evasion purposes. Kim’s favorite movie? Ice Station Zebra. Kim’s law expertise? Banking law.
    I think Kim is alive and well during Breaking Bad’s timeline, running the money portion of Saul’s business. I also believe season 6 of BCS is going to give us scenes that take place DURING the Breaking Bad timeline, and we’ll see the aspects of Saul (and Kim’s) life that BB didn’t show us.

For me going into it, I was just hoping that this would set up a most amazing final season ever... and I was thoroughly satisfied because it looks like everything is teed up better than I could have imagined. I think season 6 may end up with a greater ending than Breaking Bad, because there's so much tension already going into it, and all the characters are fragile and vulnerable, and all the story lines are headed to converge over each other... quite violently! It makes me so stoked for the final season. Hopefully everyone out there who had different expectations can see it in this light, as I think this is what the writers were intending to do. I'm not sure he wants Kim to be the same way though, she has become Jimmy 2.0 now. Will she survive? Howard is right in saying Chuck knew him better than anyone, even though Chuck was part of the problem there. Lalo's family was just killed, I wouldn't want to mess with him from here on out! Nacho as always will be in danger, I'm worried about his dad too. Interested to see if Mike will kill either of them and I want to see how his BCS story ends going into Breaking Bad. Gus as well! All that and I'm not even counting the inevitable reappearances by Hank, Gomez, Tuco, Krazy 8, Lydia, Gale, etc. How will they all fit in here? Maybe we will see Jesse at least once??? @@goooodam5180 ah he has definitely the time to recover from a scam from Kim. My guess is that Lalo will force Kim to scam Goodman

    I really hope we see some more Tuco in the next season. Especially him with Lalo, which is just a terrifying thought
