Great video! Thanks for sharing, really helpful vid. Did you use auto exposure in Filmic Pro? When I try to shoot on a sunny day like this and lock my shutter speed to 1/48 it's always overexposed. Did you use higher shutter speeds? Everyone says to lock at 1/48 (24fps) but even with an ND filter, sometimes it's still too bright on my phone. Should I just use higher shutter speeds. Any tips to get it to look like your vid on a sunny day? I'm new to all of this... Thanks.

What is the best music video the jammers
I shot with Filmic Pro on my Samsung phone a few years ago (at 24fps) and Premiere showed that all my footage was variable frame rate. I had different frame rates for each clip I shot - I didn't know what these weird frame rates were so I asked on Adobe forums and was told that phones shoot VARIABLE frame rates, not constant. So you have to use something like ShutterEncoder or Handbrake to transcode to a fixed/constant frame rate before importing inside Premiere or Final Cut in order to make sure the frame rate will be congruent across clips. Were you aware of this?
Hey man, honestly I had no idea. When I set my iPhone to 24fps, it shoots in 24fps and spits out a 24fps clip in my Final Cut Pro X timeline with zero issues. Same goes for 60fps and 120fps. Maybe check your camera settings on your phone and see if you can change it from VFR to something that is a constant frame rate.
I know this is an old video but it’s still great, thank you ! I have a question tho, how do you film a slow song like someone playing a guitar like a Jack Johnson music without being boring ?
Hey! Thanks for the love! So, in regards to a more laid back song like you had mentioned, you can just slow your camera movements down. Get some wide shots showing the environment behind the artist, medium shots straight on, medium shots looking slightly up towards them on the guitar, shots of them strumming the guitar as a 'performance' scene along with their opposite hand hitting the notes / strings. Maybe shoot it during golden hour while the sun is setting somewhere outdoors in an open environment. The beautiful thing about music videos is there really is no righ tor wrong way of doing it, just get creative!

How do you know when to sing and how do you add the sound in to match the lips..

Are you using filmic just for recording? I don’t see a way to set the sequence of multiple videos. What are you using for post
I do, yup. I edit in Final Cut Pro X and use a multicam clip is what it is called. If you edit in Final Cut Pro X, search on my channel 'multicam' and the tutorial will pop up. Absolutely game changer in terms of timeline cleanliness, efficiency and workflow specifically for music videos but can also be used for corporate interview style videos with multiple camera angles. If you use Premiere or DaVinci Resolve, just search multicam up on RUclips for those editing platforms and there are multicam tutorials for those as well!

I got a question how do you make the music and the video sync together
Sure thing! That's exactly what I do. Every single performance scene I film, I film from the very beginning of the song to the very end. I then sync every performance scene together and then drop the mastered audio underneath. I actually explain this super in depth in my online music video course.
