Korn-self titled Slayer-show no mercy Emperor-in the nightside eclipse Metallica-kill em all Bring me the horizon-count your blessings Possesed-seven churches Moltey crue-shout at the devil Just to name a few lol
Just my random picks: Nocturnus, "The Key" Tarot, "The Spell of Iron" Necronomicon S/T Satan's Host, "Metal from Hell" Helloween, "Walls of Jericho" (yup, I said it!) Witchfynde, "Give 'em Hell"
Great list. The only one I disagree with is Amorphis but only because I heard "Tales" first back in the day so it definitely has a special place in my collection
*sees the Doom Metal picks, Epicus Doomicus Metallicus isn’t one of them even though it’s the channel’s profile pic* I just thought that was funny. Also nice to see Count Raven get mentioned. One of the most Underrated bands in Metal and Doom Metal. Christian Linderson (or Chritus) did a great job on this and his other albums in other bands. Actually the vocalist who sang on the later albums is the Bands guitarist, Dan Fondelius (or Fodde) and he also sang one song on Storm Warning, In the Name of Rock ‘n’ Roll. One of the most underrated metal guitarist too.
I just chose Epicus as my profile picture because its iconic and I like the artwork. I personally prefer Nightfall and Tales of Creation to Epicus though. Fodde is definitely an underrated guitarist, dude is a riff machine.
Ironically, most of my favorite albums are debuts. Here's my list anyway: - Iron Maiden - Iron Maiden, - Diamond Head - Lightning to the Nations, - Venom - Welcome to Hell, - Mercyful Fate - Melissa, - Slayer - Show No Mercy, - Anthrax - Fistful of Metal, - Metal Church - Metal Church, - Celtic Frost - Morbid Tales, - Destruction - Infernal Overkill, - Flotsam & Jetsam - Doomsday for the Deceiver.
Strongly disagree about Gorguts. I get what you say about Obscura (I like it, but it really is experimental and fucked up), but for me From Wisdom to Hate is the best of both worlds (catchy\banging and techy\weird. My favorite debuts are Cynic's Focus and Orphaned Land's Sahara.
Me and my friend listened to Godflesh-Streetcleaner when it first came out.We were on acid and it scared the shit out of him so much I stopped the album. That release and Godflesh-Pure are so good.
No way is the first Gorguts their best album. Obscura is an absolute masterpiece and one of the best albums of all time, pushed the boundaries of death metal and is an unparalleled masterpiece. The first album is just a decent old school death metal album.
@@jdb5961 I’ve tried to get into Obscura, but it just doesn’t do it for me. I know it was a very influential album in death metal, but I just can’t get into it. So for me, Considered Dead is still their best album.
_Considered Dead_ is truly a death metal album that could've been released by any one of hundreds of bands at the time. Essentially a release that clings 100% to American death metal, regarding it with absurd levels of praise for such an inconsequential album in death metal history.
That's the thing about boundaries-pushing albums, they can be very inspiring, but rarely easy listening. Gorguts have been refining (and building upon) what they did in Obscura ever since. Anyway, for me Gorguts is one of the rare bands with impeccable discography.
This is my list in no particular order: 10. Immolation- Dawn Of Possession 9. Emperor- In The Nightside Eclipse 8. Gorguts- Considered Dead 7. Dismember- Like An Ever Flowing Stream 6. Entombed- Left Hand Path 5. Satyricon- Dark Medieval Times 4. Candlemass- Epicus Doomicus Metallicus 3. Autopsy - Severed Survival 2. Sodom- Obsessed by Cruelty 1. Dark Funeral- The Secrets of the Black Arts
gorguts and amorphis just makes 0 sense sorry. Both are rather generic death metal records, even if they are good. Amorphis has two masterpieces after the first album, Tales from the thousand lakes and elegy. For gorguts i understand not liking obscura. Even then the erosion of sanity is a better album. Heck even colored sands is better than considered dead
One piece of advice for you: Work on your audio setup. If the first thing I hear when clicking on your video is your voice clipping, then that's really a bad first impression. Get yourself a proper microphone and record it with plenty of headroom.
It's a talking head video, it doesn't need an expensive setup. At least the voice sits at -10dbFS and doesn't hard clip. His videos recorded with a phone had a better audio though.
What matters is what the uploader "counts" as expensive because we can't know that. If he had a hundred bucks extra to throw on a mic and he thinks it's worth upgrading from the phone mic, he would've done it already.
Korn-self titled
Slayer-show no mercy
Emperor-in the nightside eclipse
Metallica-kill em all
Bring me the horizon-count your blessings
Possesed-seven churches
Moltey crue-shout at the devil
Just to name a few lol
this is a real old school style yt vid i love it
Good list there. Interesting to see Godflesh, Dismember, Amorphis, and Gorguts in there.
Just my random picks:
Nocturnus, "The Key"
Tarot, "The Spell of Iron"
Necronomicon S/T
Satan's Host, "Metal from Hell"
Helloween, "Walls of Jericho" (yup, I said it!)
Witchfynde, "Give 'em Hell"
Good takes except Bathory, I hate to say this but the return and under the sign of the black mark is alot better.
Completely.
Great list. The only one I disagree with is Amorphis but only because I heard "Tales" first back in the day so it definitely has a special place in my collection
I can definitely understand that, Tales is an excellent album as well.

Definitely agree with Diamond Head and Mercyful Fate.
Show No Mercy was peak Slayer: Rubin ruined them
Onward To Golgotha by Incantation is a great first album
Onward to Golgotha is a great debut, but I don't think it's Incantation's best album. For me their best album is Diabolical Conquest.

Tales from the thousand lakes and Indecent & obscene are better than their debut albums, imho.
I can definitely understand that argument. Tales and Indecent & Obscene are excellent albums as well.
in the nightside eclipse by emperor easily

I miss the good old days. So tired of rap and pop being pushed!
Privilege of Evil EP is the best Amorphis release ever. But it's not their debut.
It amazes me this video isn't from 15 years ago
It has very middle 2000's era. Right?; the mic, the camera, the way he's in the video plane...

did you steal your mic from a gorenoise band
Yeah, just last night Last Days of Humanity called and said they want their mic back.
