I had been using my "clutch start cancel" button for about three years and after watching this video I looked and saw the connector had just come loose. I popped it back in and it's fixed. Thank you!
Thanks, I have a had an occasional problem with this and have been wracking my brain wondering why it runs fine but every once in a while it won't start especially if you pop the clutch and it stalls out, the engine light comes on and won't start up again. It fires right up when I jump it and runs fine again. I will have my mechanic check this as well as all starting components, battery, alternator etc is just fine. I have a 1991 Toyota 5 speed4 wheel drive pickup that I love.
I have the same problems on my 2005 tacoma, V6, 4.0, 6 speed. I'll switch out that clutch switch and let e everyone how it goes. FYI the clutch cancel switch helps once in a while.
Same truck ‘08 …same exact issue. Great to hear you solved it. I’m getting it fixed now. 🤝 But did you know a paper clip will also fix this problem by simply bypassing the defective switch.
Is that a cruise control stick on the left side of your steering wheel? If so, I need to know if the clutch switch you replaced is also linked to cruise control to disengage your cruise upon pressing the clutch? I have a manual Corolla 2012 and I'll be installing cruise control very soon. I see this switch on my Corolla clutch but I can start my car with or without pressing clutch anyway, I was thinking if it's the same switch used for cruise control or I need to get a cruise control specific switch, thanks.
I know im late but check for continuity between the two terminals while engaging the switch. You should have continuity when engaged. You can also clean these as they get gummed up after years of use.

Easy fix. Thank you for this video.
Thank you. The white plastic stem, in my opinion, is too short. I think adding an extension by 1/2" would help.
Great video ! Thanks for the help !

How to know if the sensor is bad? What test to do?
