I am a committed Toyota owner for many years. It is a vehicle that you just typically service (maintenance) and rarely if ever have to repair (something died or broke). They are head and shoulders above all vehicles, in my opinion, due to their quality and engineering designs. I have seen many Toyota's passed down after being driven by the primary owner with hundreds of thousands of miles on them, but still reliable and start consistently, to others in their family because they are so cost-effective to own over American and other foreign makes (Japanese, Korean, and European) That's my 2 cents after having worked in the auto repair industry for 30 years. Thanks for reading my response, but I know not everyone shares my thoughts and agrees, which is cool. Take care and be safe, and wear your mask out and about for consideration to others!
I have a 2013 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport 4x4 Double Cab. Bought it in 2015 with a little over 46,000 miles on it. I have well over 100,000 miles, no issues at all!! I had to replace the battery and did front brakes. I follow the maintenance schedule, new plugs, antifreeze flush, transmission service....runs Excellent. Toyota makes an excellent product.
I have a 2008 Tacoma base model, 4 door long bed. 240000 miles. I have owned countless trucks since the early '70s. This is absolutely the best truck I have ver owned. Toyota gave me a new frame and new rear leaf springs in 2019. Eleven years out of warranty. Contrast that with Subaru that had a bad engine problem for 13 years and they would only cover them during the warranty period.
I have a 2005 Tacoma bought it brand new in 05. Still have it and I love it . Toyota replaced. The frame. lower control arms. leaf springs and modified the gas pedal per recall so the only money I have in the truck for 15yrs is new front hubs at $600 bucks and oil and coolant changes over the years my son still has my 1992 Toyota pickup and a 1996 T100 with 320,000 on it. I have owned Toyotas for over 35 yrs for me best truck on the planet
Everything you mentioned here is taken care of with maintenance. I clean my throttle body every few years, I spray fluid film on my frame every few years. I take care of my truck. It still looks brand new after 180,000 miles and 9 years.
@@krgnet1573 you want to wire brush as much rust off as you can, get as much caked on dirt and mud off, then spray the fluid film, it'll protect it but you should do it every year, keep the fluid film off your rubber parts, if you spray it by accident, wipe it off. I'd suggest you watch some videos on it.
@@timothybagrowski643 thanks for the tip, mine is not rusty yet but will keep in mind. I love my truck and I used to take it for regular maintenance until I started to learned how to work on it myself and not only I’m saving some money on labor and some parts that can be cleaned before needing to replace but I’m learning to identify the issues before it’s too late and keep my truck in good shape even when it’s already over 290k mileages on a Toyota Tacoma 2012
2006 Tacoma here, done tons of work on it myself. Only major replacement so far has been the alternator. 356,000 km running solid. I made a thread on tacomaworld on how to install 2012+ touchscreen stereo and bluetooth with microphone then replaced the door speakers with 6x9 inch and the sound quality is great. The stereo fits right in, only need an adapter
2012 Trd offroad, my leaf spring cracked right where he said it would at 140k miles and my headlight lenses are getting cloudy. Great truck, we've gone over 100k together and I hope many more to come!
If you get aftermarket cheapy headlights, they aren't bad for the money, just make sure you take some silicone adhesive around where the 2 halves come together. You can see the sealing they used, but just to make sure, as water getting inside these are one of the big bitches about them. Again, can't beat the price. I paid $75 for 2.
My Husky floor mats eliminates problem number 1 for me. They fit so perfect and are so easy to quickly take out and clean. Those and my UnderCover bed cover were great purchases.
Those are the best!! Had those in my 89 Toyota truck that I loved for 20 years. Just as durable as the truck. I put over 500k miles on that truck with only wear items replaced! Floor mats are currently in my 02 Tacoma xtra cab TRD 4x4 I just got 2 years ago due to wrecking Old Blue :( and still holding up! Lol cheers!!!
I've been driving an ''05 Access Cab 4x4 TRD for 19 years and have had no problems with it. It runs like new and I'm as happy with it as the day I bought it new. Good vid.
For anyone else looking at 2nd gen Tacoma’s - the 2005 Taco’s had head gasket issues, avoid if possible or make sure to check thoroughly if you are looking at a 2005 :)
Maybe not a top problem, but my '05 Tacoma had a plastic coolant by-pass line that broke and overheated my engine. I saw that this was a common problem and there is a stainless replacement line available. It should be replaced if anyone still has the plastic line.
I have 2011 TRD owned since new. Leaf springs where replaced free by Toyota under a recall about 2 years ago. Only issue I have ever had. 300,000KM, going strong.
My biggest complaint with both my 2007 and my 2015 is the a/c condensate comes out over the frame. I put a hose on it and ran it under the truck below the frame.
Floor mat, really. This is the number 1 thing you want to talk about, just depress the clutch pedal. If you don't have a clutch pedal in your truck...well bless your heart. Keep up the good work and fun videos.❤👈
purchased a 2011 Tacoma TRD Off-Road recently as my first ever vehicle, trying to learn as much as I can about it, this video was very helpful, thanks!
I'm just glad most of the parts he mentioned are very easy to replace, my main worries is the life of the engine and transmission which its unsurpassed by any other manufacturer, and it's what makes Toyota number 1 over Ford, Volkswagen, benz, Subaru, chevy etc... especially knowing that american cars have more plastic on the block and more unnecessary electrical components that could go wrong its a win for the manufacturer and a loss to the buyer.
I agree after owning 3 Toyota's and numerous other brand cars in the past 65 years. I consider my current 07 Tacoma w/ 205K Mi. On it a tremendous blessing.
For the side marker bulb getting too hot you could also switch the bulb to an LED. My Tahoe’s daytime running light started to melt the housing, swapped it with an LED & it stopped.
I just down today to find a LED replacement bulb $26.00 Canadian for a pair of ‘em‼️ I thought were cheaper to make; like Christmas lights! I walked out empty-handed!
@@randolphchappel6098 Yeah the Sylvania ones are overpriced. Well rated ones on amazon are affordable and seem to be good. My interior lights on my silverado are form amazon. My bed and high mount brake light is from there and has been great so far. I feel the Sylvania ones though overall are the best quality. Hope that helps! If it is well rated and the reviews say they last a while they should be good!
2007 with 120000 miles. Leaf springs and unjoints changed no charge on a Toyota recall. I Changed alternator and shocks at 95k. Well maintained by myself otherwise. Red paint is baked off in Texas sun. Frame is perfect though in dry Texas. It has been the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned.
UPDATE 2023, 385,000 kilometers, STILL no issues. :) Routine maintenance only. Just had a new Pioneer stereo installed. I will own this truck until I die.
What about the window whistle when the wind is blowing across the truck? It happens on the Drivers and Passengers sides. I have had 2nd Gens and they both did it.
I love my 2005 TRD, it has never left me stranded but has the following issues - it blew through the AC compressor at 85K and now it has gone again at 157K. I have been fighting P0420 code which is catalytic converter so I put Iridium spark plugs in it and it went out for a year and came back. So then I cleaned the throttle body and it went out for 8 more months and now back again. So I will try the TPS sensor as you say. The frame was replaced in 2014 which is unheard of for any car manufacturer, and I do the Krown rustproofing treatment and I have no rust living in the north rust belt. It still shifts smooth as butter and and has excellent lights compared to new cars but they are getting smokey so maybe I will try your 1AAU headlights replacement. But I must say, I call this truck "Stormy" as it will trudge through any snowstorm or heavy downpour and always feels safe, it has a killer heater and it just feels beefy. It continues to have good power up our steep hills in this area, and can tow a decent trailer. I know I haven't changed my photo but I gave up my Silverado for this older vehicle, and it has been a good experience.
Thanks for the video. I love my 2008 V8 DC Tacoma. 149k and still running great. Frame was checked and resealed and leaf springs replaced by dealer at no charge.
Had a 1998 until 205k miles then traded up in 2010. Still have the 2010 it's at 160k miles. It needs new wheel bearings for the 2nd time. First time was at 30k miles. Everyone is right these little trucks are almost indestructible. The dealer has caught all the recalls.
I had the rear leafs replaced under the factory recall on my 2011 TRD Off Road and the springs sagged within 3 months. I replaced them with OME Dakar rear leafs and have had no problems.
I have an 11 also! Was thinking of getting the ome for the extra payload. How much did they run you? I do mobile detailing and consistently have 400-500lbs in the bed with water tank/generator
I have a 2007, crew cab, 4x4, 4.0 lit. engine. I have 150K miles. Have driven it to 5 other states. My truck has never let me down. Brought me home safe every time. I love it and will never give it up. I modified it a bit. Get 21 mpg. in the city and 24 hwy. Special plugs, maintain MAP sensor clean, Throttle body clean, Oxg. sensors clean. Tire pressure is the most important. Tacoma is an extremely reliable truck.
Wow buddy, I'm a first time viewer and I have a 2010 PreRunner. Great advice and presentation as well. I'm having my final inspection on the frame before the 12 year period is up, but the dealer in Texas said it looked great. I live in WV now and plan on oiling the underside prior to winter like my tractor. I want this to be the last truck I need :) Cheers!
Thank you. I recently came across a parking brake sticking problem on my 2011 Tacoma. The problem does not happen all the time. Took it to the dealer and they could not replicate it but recommended replacing the front and two rear cables at a cost of roughly $1,100., without checking/lubricating the parking brake mechanisms in the brake hub. Have you encountered this problem with this gen of Tacoma.
i had a 2000 tacoma in hawaii took it on the sand all the time 15 years later the frame and underneath looked good zero rust. when i washed the truck i would rinse out the frame rails and let the lawn sprinkler do the work
Hi: problem #5. That is my problem with the leaf springs. Only 86k miles. Rough ride. Gonna take to my mechanic to assess and install Biltsteins all the way around. Can’t quite afford TRD package install yet. Very helpful indeed! Yeah!
My opinion is both are just as easy to maintain. The 4.7l v8 in the tundra is very accessible. Nothing really needs replaced besides regular maintenance items. If its a v6 tacoma the tundra will be easier to maintain, plus 1st gen tundras are just sweet. I own one lol
About 3 years ago I got the notice to bring my truck in to check the frame for corrosion. Yep! Replace the frame was the word. Just last week my truck went in and got the frame replaced! She’s a 2009 TRD. Other than that she runs good. One of my complaints is that the so called leather seats really don’t hold up to any wear and tear. I’m not sure if a replacement to the auto wreckers is the answer to that or go to an upholsterer.
I have a 2006 with 157,000 miles on it. I never had any of these problems. Because I live in the Oregon and Washington area, no salt is used on roads, even today it looks almost new on the underside. The dealership replaced my rear leaf springs as the recall and added another spring. Its now super strong and can hold up to 2300 lbs. as long as you aren't getting too crazy on hills. The only issues I've seen are the plastic head lamp covers, they are slightly fogged on the top side. But its not related to heat from the bulbs. When the truck is all cleaned up, I've had people think its only a few years old.
I own a 2014 Taco crew-cab and absolutely no problems!! It has 108,000 miles V6 engine and I just service it even if I don't have 5,000 I change the oil every 6 months. I just had a fluid service at 90,000 miles Garaged and looks new.
My 2007 Taco has all-new leaf springs and front coils from a 2020 Tacoma combined with new Bilstins 5100 shocks. The truck has 275,000km and rides like a new truck.
I had a 13 TRD SPORT...i had DIAMOND KOTE applied when new on the frame....frame was solid after 7 years. I did replace both rear springs with after market springs sets and made truck ride nicer and tow our RV much better. Only real problem was my radio antenna...replaced all hardware twice because of excessive corrosion. Heated seat on driver side died in 2019. The rest of the time I had no issues at all.
I'm proud owner of a 2009 Tacoma 4x4 with 230,000 miles. Finally had to replace the starter, but that's the only problem with otherwise a problem free vehicle.
You forgot to mention the latch breaking on the center console lid however I will never own anything but Toyota because the reliability is second to none and their value doesn’t plummet like all the others
probably that heater motor, is drawing too much current, and COPPER WIRE IS EXPENSIVE. recently i re-cycled 165 pounds, of pure red #1 very thick, copper wire. Was paid 4.00 per pound. ....so, attempting to save $$$, on wiring. Replace wiring with 12 gauge wire, as they probably used 18 gauge..........old elect tech. DID IT EVER BLOW THE HEATER FUSE ??? should be 15 or more amps.....
Just had both leaf springs, shackles, ubolts etc. All replaced on our 05 at the dealership on a recall. Went ahead and replaced shocks and struts too. It's like a new truck.
On these models or Tacoma's in general when let off the brake there is always a slight clunk when leaving from a dead stop. Is this axle wrap or some else?
Jordan FitCarGuy I had it too 2 times, the transmission fluid was aftermarket first time Mobile, second time Castrol. I had Toyota replace the fluid with kind and both times it stoped it.
I was hoping you would mention that the AC Expansion valve is in the dash and everything has to be removed. My AC went out in the South during the summer and its way to much work and money to get it replaced. thinking about selling the truck now...
The frames were screwed up from the manufacturing process at Dana Corp. It wasn’t a recall either, it was a voluntary inspection replacement campaign. Toyota inspected frames in certain cold weather states where heavy salt is used. They initiated an anti corrosion spray process that would further make the vehicle eligible for future frame replacement. Currently there’s a frame treatment and replacement program for 2011-2017 Tacomas.
+TNA WWE If you are talking about the tire pressure sensors, they are part of the valve stem mounted in the wheel. There are typically receivers on the vehicle mounted in the wheel wells. Thanks for checking us out! 1AAuto.com
You can Seafoam the fuel system by removing the vacuum hose from the brake booster and suck a little bit at a time, maybe a few ounces from a container(Throttle Positioning Sensor I think you mean) it'll smoke like a bitch but it's fine. By smoke I mean a white smoke screen! Go somewhere where nobody is around. Helps throttle response. Literally takes a few minutes
I bought an 05 2 yrs ago Sad to say it’s been a month pit its a rust bucket very used was not well maintained I paid 7,000 it has 165,000 miles currently I’ve put over 8,000 into it. Toyota rebuilt rear end diff in 2019 5,000 !!! I’m keeping it hoping for better days👌🏻✌🏻
Please I want to know does 2005 to 2015 have the low ball joints problem? The 2004 how long will it take before you have the ball joint problem and is there any way you can fixed it for it not to happen again?
Several years back when I brought my 2007 into the dealer, they took the stock mats, which were nice, thick mats, and gave me thin flimsy crappy ones. The grommet in the carpet that holds the retainer in place was broken and gone; they said it wasn't their problem, that they had performed the recall procedure and I was good to go. I replaced the grommet myself, but now the retaining clip has broken and now the mat still doesn't stay in place. I can't believe they can't come up with a better design.
Hey Jaime! Man i have an 08 and got a recall notice also for the springs only, and the dealership where i live..(Santa Barbara,CA.).. swapped them which was nice.. but how did you get them to give you a whole new frame!? They just did it without you even asking on top of the L. Springs??? Damn that's Awesome! i WISH they would have done that with mine! I love my truck too -the ONLY issue i have with it is the rusty frame..Damn..✌
I’m an original owner of a 05 TRD PreReunner. None of those issues. Replaced broken rear shock and u-joint after 10 plus years. Temp/compass gauge went out and resoldered the old cold solder- twice. And a month ago gas gauge died. Sending unit was good. Low mileage 180k plus. Fender flair paint faded after 18 plus years outside 😢
I know this is an older video but, I have the frame rot on mine. 2006 sr5 4x4 4.0 v6. Body looks great besides 2 dings in the tailgate and some clearcoat peeling on the hood and roof a little. No body rust anywhere. It’s passed the time to get a new frame. I bought this truck a year ago and knew nothing about the frame issues. Of course after buying I started seeing online things about the frames. Apparently, at one time the frame was inspected and all it got was undercoated. Which all that is flaking off with the rust. I don’t see any cracks in the frame anywhere yet. I did punch a small hole in the bottom of a frame rail sitting the truck on jack stands when replacing the front struts, one of the ears on the jack stand went through the frame bottom. I’m not sure what to do with it now. I have upper and lower control arms with ball joints I need to replace that o bought from you guys. Kind of nervous that I may open up a whole new can of worms and have more trouble than I need. Any ideas?
I have a 2015 2.7 litre. Bought it with 60k, now have 140k. Not a single problem, outside of basic maintenance (oil changes, brakes). I hope this truck will outlive me.
2005 trd sport 4x4 6 speed manual, 240,000 miles driving from Texas to Montana to New Mexico. I need a new spiral cable/ clock spring. Other than that she runs like brand new!! Love my 05..307 K .. just got back in January 18 with brand new frame and brand new leaf springs from Toyota recall. On the first generation I had I received a big check and I took it away from me because of a rusty frame. I will never have a different brand of truck... Tacoma forever
I have 2005 Toyota Tacoma TRD double cub 6 feet pre runner V 6 SR,as of this time ,runs GREAT with one hundred ninety nine thousand plus ....no problem except my leaf spring recall they replace no coast TOYOTA TACOMA D BEST TRUCK
Thank you for your video. What do you meant the truck is 2nd generation, did they repainted it? It looked like the truck was repainted because under the chassis is so rusty. This truck could be sit in the flood zone.
You missed one other on these is a stiff steering problem caused by the Intermediate Shaft #2 in steering column. It can be sprayed with lubricant into the universal joint and will last a bit longer but it is safer to replace it.
Thought about buying my dad's 2005 trd prerunner. But looking at all the, rust issues and tire set ups . It seems to me I should buy from the factory directly.

I really appreciate your simple explanations and most of all that you don't praise or criticise a specific car manufacturer

I’ve had my 2nd gen for 5 years and not one of these has occurred. Not only best truck, but best vehicle I’ve ever owned.
Dang... I want one 🙏🏼
+1995dresser Thanks for the feedback!
Everything you mentioned here is taken care of with maintenance. I clean my throttle body every few years, I spray fluid film on my frame every few years. I take care of my truck. It still looks brand new after 180,000 miles and 9 years.
new to auto DIY. can you spray fluid film if it's already starting to rust?
Congratulations 🙏🏾
+Andrew Walker Thanks for the feedback!
I'm a member of Tacoma world
2012 Trd offroad, my leaf spring cracked right where he said it would at 140k miles and my headlight lenses are getting cloudy.
Glad I know what to look for on my vericle now, thanks
+RJJR Thanks for checking us out! 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c
I dont think he got it lmao
I noticed that too!
Got those. Love them. Get em muddy, hose em off, carpet still looks new.
i've done the helper spring thing with mine before they flattened out and so far it's working beautifully
So happy I bought this truck four years ago. Never have to worry about her breaking down on me
I've been driving an ''05 Access Cab 4x4 TRD for 19 years and have had no problems with it. It runs like new and I'm as happy with it as the day I bought it new. Good vid.
A good check list of things to look at if you're buying a 2nd Gen Taco.
Not really most are known issues and recall
I am lookin to buy a '14-'15 right now! I expected to have a lot more problems! They are right, these things are amazing trucks!
+Mike Normandy Thanks for checking us out! 1AAuto.com
They’re better than the current 3rd gen.
What’s a vericole
300k and running strong
For anyone else looking at 2nd gen Tacoma’s - the 2005 Taco’s had head gasket issues, avoid if possible or make sure to check thoroughly if you are looking at a 2005 :)
😳
Maybe not a top problem, but my '05 Tacoma had a plastic coolant by-pass line that broke and overheated my engine. I saw that this was a common problem and there is a stainless replacement line available. It should be replaced if anyone still has the plastic line.
I just replaced mine on my 06. It lasted over 15 years and 220k miles. Not bad. Installing it was a bit tricky though
I put a hose on it and ran it under the truck below the frame.
mine might have that issue. i can smell the condensate when AC is off. sound similar?
That generation has a leaf spring recall from Toyota. Had them done on my 2008 tacoma.
+stetkal Thanks for the feedback!
Had the frame swapped and the rest on my 08. Sport. 6m no problems. It's been great.
the tsb leafs are still absolute garbage
Floor mat, really. This is the number 1 thing you want to talk about, just depress the clutch pedal. If you don't have a clutch pedal in your truck...well bless your heart. Keep up the good work and fun videos.❤👈
The paint and sealer pealed on my 2008Tacoma. I’ve seen it on a lot of Toyota trucks . I know it’s not a mechanical issue perhaps still worth noting .
purchased a 2011 Tacoma TRD Off-Road recently as my first ever vehicle, trying to learn as much as I can about it, this video was very helpful, thanks!
They don’t have a 2011 Trd off road? 2nd gens usually had pre runners or x runners
How did you get Toyota to replace springs on an older.model? Maybe that's what's causing my bed to shake no one can seem to figure it out
UPDATE 2023, 385,000 kilometers, STILL no issues. :) Routine maintenance only. Just had a new Pioneer stereo installed. I will own this truck until I die.
Toyota is pretty good when it comes to taking care of the recalls
What about the window whistle when the wind is blowing across the truck? It happens on the Drivers and Passengers sides. I have had 2nd Gens and they both did it.
If you installed Leds the headlights won’t crack in the first place, because they put out less heat. Which is better for plastic
Thank you. Is just common sense.
What are the symptoms of the AC compressor failing?
Scotty Kilmer be like the hell man
😂 fr bro
What plant didn't coat the frame. What kind of ride do you get when you replace the leaf springs?
Yeah!
In your opinion. Which is a better vehicle to maintain for the diyer 06 tacoma or tundra . Im retired and do all my own repairs. God bless stay safe
Tacoma. Tundras are alot more complicated with the V8 and before 2007 they are DOHC with timing belts, a pretty considerable job to do for a DIYer.
My 2013 daily driver runs as good as new. Oil changes and one set of brakes is all its needed in almost 8 years.
Same!
It has 108,000
miles V6 engine and I just service it even if I don't have 5,000 I change the oil every 6 months.
I just had a fluid service at 90,000 miles
Garaged and looks new.
The rest of the time I had no issues at all.
great vid....I learned a lot about my 2012 tacoma, bought new and now has 131K. thanks bud
I'm proud owner of a 2009 Tacoma 4x4 with 230,000 miles. Finally had to replace the starter, but that's the only problem with otherwise a problem free vehicle.
My 2006 with 240,000 miles is having the starter problem along with a cruise control problem😂
How many miles now?...just purchased 1..with 170,000 miles and im a little nervous..hopefully I made a good decision
You forgot to mention the latch breaking on the center console lid however I will never own anything but Toyota because the reliability is second to none and their value doesn’t plummet like all the others
I got a replacement from Amazon for about 10 bucks. Well worth it
Mine did!! Lol
@@atticus2760 can you send link please, much appreciated. Toyota for ever lol
Ya my 2011 is broke, I did just had the frame replaced by Toyota tho 👍 I replaced the leaf springs in 6/2019
The #1 issue is the heater blower fan. On my 4th one. Twice it has fried the wiring.
All the other stuff he mentioned are TSB at Toyota.
probably that heater motor, is drawing too much current, and COPPER WIRE IS EXPENSIVE. recently i re-cycled 165 pounds, of pure red #1 very thick, copper wire.
I have a 2006 Tacoma with 375k miles on it... same engine same transmission. Really no problems to speak of.
I’m looking at one with 240k. I’m somewhat terrified to buy something with that many miles.
@@nathanaslin9719 how much $ were they asking ?
What about buzzing sound at highway speed that seems to come from the front driver and passenger doors?
What about the plastic coolant bypass pipe before the 2009 Tacoma's!
Just had both leaf springs, shackles, ubolts etc. All replaced on our 05 at the dealership on a recall. Went ahead and replaced shocks and struts too. It's like a new truck.
My man conducting a symphony with all those hand gestures
On these models or Tacoma's in general when let off the brake there is always a slight clunk when leaving from a dead stop. Is this axle wrap or some else?
Jordan FitCarGuy I had it too 2 times, the transmission fluid was aftermarket first time Mobile, second time Castrol. I had Toyota replace the fluid with kind and both times it stoped it.
Slip yolk needs lube
If those are all the issues then damn we are golden.. not much to worry about.. Tacos for life!!
+reef4hmmm Thanks for the feedback!
What shocks and leaf springs do you recommend? I’ve got a 2013 reg cab 2.7L 4x4.
Currently there’s a frame treatment and replacement program for 2011-2017 Tacomas.
can you show us where the TPS sensor is at?? i think i need a new one for my 2011
+TNA WWE If you are talking about the tire pressure sensors, they are part of the valve stem mounted in the wheel. There are typically receivers on the vehicle mounted in the wheel wells. Thanks for checking us out! 1AAuto.com
1A Auto Parts haha no, meant the throttle position sensor my bad!!
You can go for weathertech floor mats they fit perfect
I have 150k on my truck and love the matts that came with the truck. They have held up really well.
I have an 07 Taco they replaced my frame. I took it in for a leaf spring recall and got a new frame.
@@MisterBlue80 they are still swapping them out?
they are still taking in recalls?
I’m an original owner of a 05 TRD PreReunner. None of those issues. Replaced broken rear shock and u-joint after 10 plus years. Temp/compass gauge went out and resoldered the old cold solder- twice. And a month ago gas gauge died. Sending unit was good. Low mileage 180k plus. Fender flair paint faded after 18 plus years outside 😢
The carrier bearing is also another problem with the Tacoma. I’ve replaced it twice
I replaced mine at 125k with all three u-joints made sure to get ones with grease fittings
I've replaced mine twice also. I can hear it clatter when I take off when towing my trailer. I think it's a week spot or poor design 🤔.
What do I look for in the VIN # for that plant that didn't under coat good enough?
Got any 2nd gen Taco 5-lug wheel bearing replacement videos???

Hi. When should the timing belt be changed on a V6 2015?

Thank you for your video. What do you meant the truck is 2nd generation, did they repainted it? It looked like the truck was repainted because under the chassis is so rusty. This truck could be sit in the flood zone.
Can you still get the frame repaired from the dealership if it’s rusted? Or is it too late?
#6 the factory designed oil leak at cylinder 1 above the ac comp ?
#1 on all Toyota's frame rot
Toyota just replaced mine. 2011 with 47,700 miles on it. It was shot
You should show the parts you're talking about, for others ( me) doesn't know
the thingys you're talking about! Thank you dearly!
will Toyota still do rust repairs or has too much time passed for my 2006?
You missed one other on these is a stiff steering problem caused by the Intermediate Shaft #2 in steering column. It can be sprayed with lubricant into the universal joint and will last a bit longer but it is safer to replace it.

Thought about buying my dad's 2005 trd prerunner. But looking at all the, rust issues and tire set ups . It seems to me I should buy from the factory directly.
