so true! it can be really hard but it's worth it. I feel bad about how the relationship ended but I also feel so relieved that I don't have to constantly be upset because of them
Taking a walk through the park, finding a quiet spot and sitting in the sun for even just 10 minutes is very restorative for me. Listening to the birds, the leaves blowing in the wind, and feeling the sun and wind on my face makes me feel good to be alive :)
Greetings Vera. These are some great tips for reducing stress. Daily, I go for a walk in nature and do bodyweight exercises. I put on some acoustic guitar/piano music and focus on caring for my plants which relaxes me and elevates my mood. Before work, I meditate and then enjoy either a matcha latte or green tea. A while ago I made sure to limit the use of my phone by removing the search engine from the home screen, deleting all social media apps and reducing notifications. Currently, I'm focusing on my sleep hygiene with quieter evenings, a therapeutic skincare routine and using a weighted blanket for a deeper sleep.
I like your idea of a "phone tray" because it reminds me of my childhood. Unless we had a phone extension cord, I had to stay in one place because the phone was attached to the wall! Thank you, for all of your tips. I enjoyed watching your video.
I exercise with a RUclips channel called Improved Health. She is great for older people which I am. Both standing and seated workouts that make me feel great. She say “Think progress not perfection”. With you two ladies helping me I feel better now than when I was younger. ❤️ from 🇨🇦
So true, all the things we "have" to do ! The list you made is so true for me!! I love your videos! I am 65, and think you are full of wisdom. When I am stressed I like to go out for a walk near trees, in a park or garden. :)
Knitting and crocheting help me to relax. I also read, meditation and am getting back into art. I have a lot of stress due to the health conditions of several around me. Green tea helps too. Lol!
Agree with everything you shared today. Something i use daily is yoga nidra it's only 20 minutes - a guided meditation you might call it. I do it before going to sleep and like in your quote if there's a lot that's going on i do it twice a day! First thing in the morning as well. There are lots of different folk doing this so you can see who's voice you like the sound of to practice with. It's been a game changer for me. It's been scientifically proven to give your brain the deep rest it needs. Big love to you from Scotland❤
Painting and drawing help me relax. It does not have to be long session. 20min to ani hour to catch flow and 'free' my mind. It makes biggest difference for me.
I have a few. I have a very high anxiety disorder so some of the steps that I took is a must for my mental well-being. It is not for everyone but I would like to share anyway. I have blocked and deleted people from my phone (and life) , those who doesn't contribute positivity and happiness. That includes family members. The other ways for me to relax and center myself is to write with my fountain pen and notebook. I just write anything and everything almost daily. I don't want to keep a strict daily schedule because that also can cause stress for me. Most of all, I make sure I get hugs and kisses from husband and children a few times daily. That helps a lot.
I also have anxiety and I just went through cutting some people out of my life who really made me feel bad and stressed. it was very painful but also freeing! thank you for your tips!
Writing notes helps me a lot! It is a way to be able to concentrate only on 1 thing and not to think of the others: if I make kinda list, I stop thinking of what else should be done.
Thank you for posting this video! My favorite activities to relax are: going for a walk, listening to k-kpop and dancing (exercise), drawing, watching anime, reading and do some breathework or meditation! I think something that can really reduce stress levels are hobbies too
Hi Vera, I felt the urge to tell you: I just love all your videos! And I think you are a really smart and kind person, from what we see in your videos. I wish you all the best🤗
Loved the video! Thank you for the tips ✨️ For me, I find taking a walk outside, going for a swim in thw lake (especially when it is still chilly) and playing a musical instrument (guzheng is my favorite) to be helpful for busting stress 🖤
I was doing some physical work while I listened to you and your wonderful voice that's like butter. Toward the end I had to just stop and cry because I know everything that you're saying is true. I have been out of my mind with stress for days now. Thank you for reminding me of the control that I do have and how it is within my power to help myself 🧡 much love to you
Thank you so much for this! I started doing Zentangle again after experiencing a very stressful period at work some weeks ago. What also helps me is excercise, going for a walk or a bicycle ride or spend time with our cats. Just watch them how they are so present in the actual moment is relaxing, and I love to touch their soft warm fur. Btw, thank you for pointing out to Wild deodorant in your last video. I ordered a starter pack and I LOVE it.
Love the phone tray idea! I’ve minimalised my phone screen etc and leave my phone in the kitchen for the night, but a designated spot for the day is great as I don’t want to put it in a cupboard.
I'm feeling a lot of stress right now because speaking of cats and crying my 17 year old cat just passed away last Monday and my heart is broken. My younger cat doesn't want to eat now as she is missing her which is so stressful. All the best to your partner and his new job.
Oh Francine I'm so sorry for your loss... My sincerest condolences. I'm sure they were lucky to have you as their owner and friend. Hope your other kitty will feel a bit better soon. Sending loving thoughts your way.
Hi Francine, I am so sorry for your loss. I can't even begin to imagine the pain you are feeling. Sadly, one day, I will as i to have two cats also, and the thought of losing them breaks my heart. I hope you can take some comfort in knowing how lucky you were to have 17 years with your sweet angel. You have no idea how perfectly timed for me this video is. I spent yesterday crying and today still feeling awful over a situation. I am going to write down everything you said so I can look at it. Thank you so much. I feel like I’ll never change and want to do badly.
Maybe it isn't you who need to change - sometimes it is the circumstances and relationships you need to "blame" without that insight being excuses. Think about if making circumstances and relationships more suitable for you, could be done without changing yourself. I have left studies, distanced myself from people, moved, divorced, taken up new hobbies, left jobs, found new love, moved to a village, retired - and for each outer change I have allowed me, I felt better. Difficult, chafing non-fitting arrangements might be nobody's fault, just bad fits. Feel free to change them to the better as slowly or quickly as is best for you! Baby-steps, perhaps, or just let the cocoon go, and adapt by and by, and give it time, then, afterwards. I love all of your videos, but this one really came at the perfect time:) I have been overwhelmed in the last couple of months, lot of stress, unable to sleep, all the works. Now finally it seems I'm able to wind down slowly, such practices are a great help - even if I know most of them, this video is the gentle push to do the ones I currently skip, like meditation. So many thanks Vera!
I agree and know the feeling. For me it is important to really abstain from unsorted news. I take part in the world ver consciously, but I don't want all horrible things to invade me, so I support good causes for instance, but I don't consume disasters - I know that negative news sell better than positive, because we are easily shocked. But looking up good news is a counteract that has good ripple effects. When we care for ourselves we also improve the world, don't we, because we give others the right to care for themselves, too. Sleep is first and most important, or our brains stop working, you don't have to sacrifice yourself to that degree that you get a stroke, remember. Overwhelm drives to exhaustion, I know - you have the right to withdraw from it. A firm "no!" is often a very positive action to take. We shouldn't be guilty for it, but I have to practice to feel that good conscience for having my boundaries. All the best wishes and hope you get a tranquile summer season!
Thank you Vera. Really enjoyed this video it's very helpful and informative. To help me is read a book, talk a walk, or just sit with my hubby and talk. Hugs,❤
Taking a walk in nature helps me relieve my stress. Also, listening to podcast about life in general is my way to relax my mind. Thanks for your video! 💫
@@Tenshi_ZA I didn't interpret it that way - but maybe because I also used to average 3 hours a night for almost a year and it was absolute hell. Doctors couldn't help so I had to turn to TCM and make huge changes in my life. It was worth it, but hard work is even harder on 3 hours of sleep. I hope sparky9839 gets the help they need to make drastic changes in their life.💛
When you listed all the things we have to do in this life I felt my stress increasing with each new word. It was the perfect example of why we should focus on just one thing at a time.
Thank you so much for the helpful tips, Vera! I'll have to try out Ikkyu some time. I've been preparing to move this year to a new home, so there have been times where my brain feels like it is going a thousand miles per second. Lately, it has been really helpful for me to take a short break every hour or so because of my chronic pain (still recovering months after having covid). Something that helps a lot and that I try to do at least once a day is to place a damp towelette on my head and just lay in bed for a few minutes with no distractions. It really does help you to just shift your focus back to the present. Then, I'll continue with what I'm working on with a refreshed mind. Definitely recommend! :)
I love green tea! I will have to check out Ikkyu. I will be honest; I had unsubsribed from your channel because I realized minimalism just wasn't for me. I am not a shopaholic or anything (though I do buy a lot of books/manga), and I did learn valuable lessons/tips from watching minimalist videos. But I found myself missing your videos, which I can still take away tips from and apply to my own life, even if not everything is applicable. So, I have resubscribed 😊
I just love your videos. So much good info and very helpful. I’m glad to have found my “twin soul.” We think so much alike😊It can be hard to talk about such things to friends and family sometimes. Keep up the good work ❤😊🤗
Having a little jumping session on the rebounder is restorative for me. This is especially true after a sauna session followed by an inversion session then a little jumping.
I'm truly grateful for this video because I'm stressed most of the time, and I didn't know what to do with it. Happy Saturday from a small RUclipsr who is in the beginning of doing RUclips.
I was doing horrible stress regulation at work, so i quit 5 months ago to rest. A few days ago my dentist said i had a terrible case of gum recession as well as a possible tooth ‘death’ due to stress. That was really discouraging cuz i thought i was doing well with stress management, but apparently not. Your videos are so helpful with this journey so I just wanted to say thank you 🙂
Hi Vera I do not like should or ought in my life too, i try my hardest to remove it from my life , love your channel so much I wish you lived near me, love to have a coffee or tea with you, take care now xxx
You are a very good speaker, and such a pleasant voice and manner of talking. That really helps to exude peace. I have one little thot, being an HSP, when I see a title like, 50 ways to; or 25 ways to, that big number gives me shivers. I wonder if anyone else feels that way. If I saw, part one of 50 ways, or the first 10 of 50 ways, I would jump right in. Blessings to you dear one
I love meditation, too, and my teas, particularly camomile. Love these tips and thought about them whilst doing my walk - they helped me relax in the mind. Thank you, Vera ❤
Thank you for another fantastic video! 💚 I usually go for nature walks to de-stress & relax 🌿 Living in Canada is such a privilege, since we have amazing national parks, great ecology etc I also enjoy listening to relaxing music 🎵 , like classic music or various meditation sounds. Having herbal tea ☕️ is another relaxation technique I use. I focus fully on the process, the smells, the sound, the colour of my drink… and try to be present in the moment. Spending time with my pet 🐈⬛ or taking care of plants 🌱 are awesome for mental health and stress relief too! Doing art therapy 🎨 and journaling 📓 are also fantastic! 🥰
I read a familiar favorite book for a while. Or sometimes just tidying up is relaxing. Friend who has a Dutch parent just visited your home. Taught me: Dank u wel! (Because I looked up how to wish her happy travels. One of 4 things she left knowing how to say was Kaas broodje for some reason, too!)
Hi Vera. I sit in the shade in the park or balcony in summer and sketch nature...or have a nap or rest in the afternoon. Love your videos. Glad you learned somuch at an early age to help HSPs. Thanks from Canadian artist. ❤❤😊😊😊
So thankful. I am just doing it now only 10am yet it's effective, doing one thing at a time. I noticed recently that I don't focus, coz I want to do things all at the same time and my mind was stressed.
When I experience stress and anxiety, I often seek out my therapist online. Either to talk with or to get advice on a matter. I go to a coffee shop and read. I go to a local farmer's market. Thank you for the relaxing video. :-)
I am struggling with how much building they are doing around me. I live in a small town and now it is insane. Building new apartments on every corner, so much construction, people, cars and noise. Bulldozing through hills and nature. I am having a hard time accepting this. It’s happening everywhere and it’s sad.
Take a stroll, away from the source of stress or observing people especially toddlers. Love the way they pick themselves up after every trip. A reminder for us to carry on with the day with that level of zest!
I'll be in Amsterdam next spring. Not sure where you live in the Netherlands. Could you make a video on your favorite places/things to do/places to eat? I'm a highly sensitive person going on a fast paced trip so it would be helpful to get your opinion on how to go about that.
I rely on my mobile to do Yoga as I'm still a beginner. I wish I can do without it eventually. I also want to explore guided meditation. Once again, I have to depend on my mobile. Watching your videos itself has a very calming effect on me. Love your content!❤
Thank you for great video as always! ❤ Little tips for people who gets stressed out when things have sudden change. Literally count 1, 2, 3 in mind when taking these deep breaths. It’s like a signal which makes our brain to calm down easier. 😊
Vera, trying to get between me and my phone again 😝 I walk, then I figure I might as well break it up with a few chins up or pullups or pushups or tricep excercises and almost always an afternoon nap, a half hour to two hours. I am reminded of Alfre E Neuman's statement, watching this video. ("What, me worry?" Mad magazine)

Taking a walk through the park, finding a quiet spot and sitting in the sun for even just 10 minutes is very restorative for me. Listening to the birds, the leaves blowing in the wind, and feeling the sun and wind on my face makes me feel good to be alive :)
So lovely!!!
It really does feel restorative and doesn’t take a lot of time. Small breaks like this can be life changing.
I do the same things. And it works.🥰 Those activities help me stay mindful.
I try to go to the graveyard when feeling overwhelmed. A quiet, peaceful place in a big City.
When you don’t feel like you have time to slow down is when you really need to do so the most. Even 5 minutes can feel luxurious.
Having quiet time at home with my dog, preferably reading, is my idea of relaxing.
On a rainy cold day, with a warm drink, hearing some calming music in the background while the dogs lay beside you, totally the best for sure
At work I always go to the furthest bathroom which is up a couple of flights of stairs just to have a short mental break and a bit of exercise.
Talking with my husband. He does never seem stressed and always rationalizes any stress i have without making me feel like i overreact.
Tea breaks, reading, crocheting, and devotional reading all help me to unwind and have a mental break from busyness☺️
Reading books help me relax and forget my problems

Taking a walk in nature helps me relieve my stress. Also, listening to podcast about life in general is my way to relax my mind. Thanks for your video! 💫
Great advice and remunders. Thank you!
You're very welcome, glad to hear you enjoyed it! :) Take care
8 hours sleep sounds like a fairy tale. I average 3 hours. Thanks for the tips though, as an H.S.P. it’s easy to get overwhelmed. 💖🙏🏻
That‘s tough … all the best for you!
You said this like it's a medal or boast. You seriously need to cut that shit out
@@Tenshi_ZA I didn't interpret it that way - but maybe because I also used to average 3 hours a night for almost a year and it was absolute hell.
Very helpful as always ❤ Thank you for this video Vera! Watching it already made me feel calm ✨
This channel helps me relax and make better decisions 😊
Thank You Vera for another beautiful you and inspirational video😊as always pleasant to watch❤❤❤
Thank you, great tips. I also love green tea and I can recommend blue butterfly pea tea for relaxing at evening. I swear it works like melatonin 😊
Your Visio has popped up just at the moment that it is most needed. Reminding me I can distress one small step at a time thank you.
Point made and noted. Lol I was watching your video in 2x speed and when you mentioned it, I put the setting back to normal 😊 Thanks for reminding
This is great! Thank YOU :)
Aw thanks 🤗🌳
Thank you for this helpful video! 😊
You're so welcome, glad you enjoyed it! :)
Your energy is beautiful and one of a kind.
I just love your videos. So much good info and very helpful. I’m glad to have found my “twin soul.” We think so much alike😊It can be hard to talk about such things to friends and family sometimes. Keep up the good work ❤😊🤗
I will do some research regarding the vagus nerve. I know nothing about it and it sounds very interesting. Thank you!❤
Yes it's very interesting! And there are many ways to stimulate the vagus nerve, like singing/humming or sucking on a candy :)
I have started reform Pilates to release the stress of my busy lifestyle. And reading is also a way to move your mind out of the reality 😊
Walking in nature and meditating are two of those activities that make me relax Thanks Vera for your tips🌷
As always, thank you so much for your videos. I love my tea as well❤️. I am definitely going to try the tea you are drinking. The 15% off helps too!
Your videos are so helpful with this journey so I just wanted to say thank you 🙂
Maybe you are doing well now, but the issues are due to the past. Hope everything works out!
You're so smart, thank you. This helps many people. 💗🎉
I loved the Traveling Cat Chronicles!!!! It did make me cry too, but it was still so good. 😂
Writing really help me to relax and drawing too when I'm feeling down or stressed
Thanks for the video :) really enjoyed it .
I will Definitely take Your Advice on This One !😊
Another great video, thank you for the time you spent researching and sharing with us!
Thanks for the recap aT the end❤
Thank you, as always, for giving us these simple but so important reminders that would help us in stressful situations and remind us of them
When I experience stress and anxiety, I often seek out my therapist online. Either to talk with or to get advice on a matter. I go to a coffee shop and read. I go to a local farmer's market.
Thank you for the relaxing video. :-)
You're very welcome, I'm glad you enjoyed the video! Love your suggestions too. And btw I LOOVE Aggretsuko 🥰🥰
A very important video and great information….thank you!
I am struggling with how much building they are doing around me. I live in a small town and now it is insane. Building new apartments on every corner, so much construction, people, cars and noise. Bulldozing through hills and nature. I am having a hard time accepting this. It’s happening everywhere and it’s sad.
Always gives the best advice
At noon I lie down on my bed for 20 minutes and this reduces a lot of stress even tho I'm not even sleeping
Thanks for your wise advice. By the way, you look so pretty. Pastel colors look lovely on you 🌸
Take a stroll, away from the source of stress or observing people especially toddlers.
In both cases I think it's fine to use your phone :) Yoga and meditating are great habits, so anything that helps you with that is good :)
