    Built in 1973, Golden Mile Complex’s Brutalist-style form was a prominent presence in the CBD. It was one of the first in the country to integrate shops, offices and residences under one roof. But, over the years, the “architectural marvel” that won praise from international critics also became known as “Little Thailand” - for the tenants and clientele that took over the retail space - and, as maintenance deteriorated, was even called a “vertical slum” and “national disgrace”.
    In August 2018, over 80 per cent of the unit owners agreed to the idea of an en bloc sale. With the complex facing possible demolition, CNA Insider explores the many faces and ages of Golden Mile Complex.
