by placing the key near the transponder the car does start. But my issue is the key doesn’t lock or unlock the car. I have to use the spare key to lock the car
So do u have to place the key always near the transponder now to start the car. Or is this like a one off. Like it tell programs the car to rethink itself.
Thank you :) I had this issue with the ring type too. I fortunately it started having issues when the garages bodge my windscreen. Water leaked inside and flooded my LKM engine management etc :( sad times. They wanted 8k to fix it back in the uk

Thanks. I was able to replace my battery. It works to unlock the door, but when I go to start it…it says the remote is not detected. I’ve held the remote to the steering column to start the car. It works, but when I shut off the engine it says remote not detected again. Do you know what I should do? Thanks
Hey man, i watched like 25 video's throughout the day since i want to buy a bmw 116i and i am very scared to do so because of the all stories like "mechanics will be your best friends, you won't drive it much, it's so expensive to repair, you will sell it so quick" i am looking at a 2013 version f20 and i love it. I am 21yo costs 10k€ with around 150-200k km. Please let me know if i should go for this or Leon mk3

Hey I have a question because this issue just happend to me 30 minutes ago I pulled out my garage into the intersection and I was at a light then my wheel lock and suddenly ny car stopped while in drive . I dried to take the key fob out the first time it wouldn’t go then I tried again it worked I put it back in to start the car up it didn’t go but light and everything was on then I forget to put the car into park before trying to start it up again I did that then tried again and the can’t detect key fob sign came up I took the key fob out and tired agin it stayed right up and it been good I been seeing if it would do it again by turning car off and trying to start up again it arats everytime . Do you know the cause of it and yep you think I need a new key battery even if it connecting now and clearly working again
Hello, try typing the 7 digits of the vin number, into realoem :) it should show you the engine on there. Or use a vin decoder :) I think that should help you :) cheers :)
Hey, I know the Owen family in Uckfield, East Sussex (I don't know if it's the same family, which you are referring too, though). :) When you say a BRM, do you mean the Rover 25 BRM? They are wonderful cars. I made a short video a few years back, as someone stole my friend's one, and it got crushed in a scrapyard. It was mint. :(
