Thank you for this video. I'm so proud of these men. I started listening to DD in 1982, because a girl I liked gave me a mixed tape, and I was like wow!! I actually started singing because of Simon. In fact, I wanted to be Simon so bad.
I think he sounds better. He had a bunch of vocal issues in the 90s, hard a few surgeries as a result, and I think his voice got better now than even at their peak in the 80s.
his voice changed c. 1985 or 1986. it was deeper in the earlier albums, you can tell it is softer and more melodic post-Notorious. it's as noticeable in his speaking voice too.

These factors make them a stand-out group. Simon's remark was the best- " The essence of why we make music is this- we make people feel better about themselves." Prayers for Andy. I wish him a full and speedy recovery. His written note that Simon read was very touching and I am glad he got to know of his achievements in the band. Duran Duran are true legends.
As a 14-year-old I ❤️ their style & John Taylor's funky bass ("Rio" & "Planet Earth")!. Duran Duran showed me that you can dress stylish and be a musician - Roxy Music, Chic, Blondie, & David Bowie!
