Damn those mustangs hood pins are FUCKED up. They should sit tight like the truck cause you don't want your hood to come up slightly cause that will cause issues with aero and also if you get fast enough. Your hood will either tear off or fold like a taco.. Short story short.. hood pins are supposed to stay flush to the hood unless you want to damage your car
Seems like nobody in the comments even knows what the purpose of hood pins are. They're used on race cars - when you remove all that stock hood latch hardware and you don't want your hood to fly up. Also, they're used for quickly removing the entire hood to access the motor. Putting them on street queens is gay.
On circle track race cars we don't make them that tight as well and we doing 120 plus mph off into the corners in asphalt latemodels cuse of they are super hard to pull it it takes more time for my guys to work on the car under caution. Mine are slightly lose
Yeah the truck came with the hood pins or I wouldn't have put them on. Waste of money to me, plus having to worry if someone is going to steal your pins is annoying
Hood pins aren’t for looks if actually functional it’s to keep your hood from coming off while racing. The mustang is for looks clearly but the truck is functional
Yeah seriously! Stock hood retention is way more reliable, looks better, and makes it harder for people to mess with your ride! I've never done this personally, just the c10 I got had them already
@@DYLANTRIES I think the General Lee got this thing started...lol. It doesn't look bad on some vehicles. I think a lot of people put them on because that latch is messed up. I assume you're in TN also?
@@davidarwood6264 yes I'm in TN, yeah has alot to do with what kinda car or truck it is, old school 60-70s hot rods look cool when they have mods and hood pins but I'm thinking someone put them on my c10 cause it was cheaper and easier to buy them than it would be to fix the hood latch
They’re like holding pins, for example when hooking up my pos trailer I attach the ball hitch, put on the chains & wiring connection. And lastly a thicker one of these guys gets put thru as the final precautionary. That’s really the only time I use em lol

That’s the territo way 🤣🤣🤣
The Internet just got dumber
Appears to me that both vehicles have factory hood latch and the car hasn’t popped the latch but the truck hood was popped.
both factory hoods...both have latches...why bother let alone complain about someone elses hood
Exactly! Factory latches are way better and I can show off the hood pins on that car I'd I want to! Thanks for commenting

I learned something new today
As did I. Didn't think I'd learn something like this at 39
Most ppl with street cars just install hood pins for looks and not function they keep the hood latch
So add weight. Even if slightly
Both version are messed up.

Who cares
Some people+overused and you have no life 😭
Yea or how about get a regular hood
Yeah the truck came with the hood pins or I wouldn't have put them on. Waste of money to me, plus having to worry if someone is going to steal your pins is annoying
Someone or no one, thanks for watching anyways
@@DYLANTRIESI always pull my pins out at every stop, when I get out I toss em into my center console until I come back out
You want then tight so the hood doesn’t shake up and down while driving 🤦🏻♀️
Both lok absolutely hidious

Thanks
I don't see a difference.
Dude...what are those👀🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
How about quit fu@#ing up your hood and not do it at all ?

What are these used for ive never seen these before lol
hood pins.
Hood pins instead of or to reinforce the hood latch
you can open the hood easier. but also makes it easy for a thief to steal your car parts lol!
