  • This one is really easy to modify. Don’t like meat? Omit. Rather use a different noodle? Knock yourself out. This is also a favorite to bake up, cut into individual serving sizes then freeze. Take out a frozen block of pasta bake, toss it in the microwave for a couple of minutes and boom, amazing lunch / leftover meal.
As mentioned in the video, the last time I prepared this I used ground beef. This time, we are using ground Italian sausage. I’ve also omitted the Parmesan Cheese and aluminum foil. Rebel that I am, it’s not going to hurt anything. Be adventurous sometimes, or, save a couple bucks by NOT using aluminum foil :)
    TIME TO PREPARE
    15 minutes to brown meat
    10 minutes to boil water
10 minutes to cook pasta noodles
30 minutes to bake in oven
10 minutes to broil in oven
    10 minutes to cool
    INGREDIENTS FOR MEAL
1.3 lbs ground Italian Mild Sausage (ground)
    1 package penne ziti
    1 jar red sauce
    1-2 lbs mozzarella cheese
    Pizza Spices
    Spray Oil
    Parmesan cheese
    HOW TO
    1. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees
    2. Spray a baking dish with Spray oil. Set aside
    3. Boil water. Cook pasta, but don’t cook for full time on box (shave about 2-3 minutes off cook-time)
    4. Brown meat in cast iron pan. Drain fat. Set aside
    5. Fill baking dish with cooked pasta
    6. Sprinkle pizza spices onto cooked pasta
    7. Add ground sausage on top of pasta
    8. Add red sauce on top of beef
    9. Add cheese to top of red sauce
    10. Bake for 30 minutes
    11. Turn oven to Broil, 375 degrees (now, there are many people that will tell you DO NOT broil a glass baking dish, and they would be correct, but we are ONLY going to 375 degrees, and we are ONLY broiling for 5-10 minutes, so not that long of a time… just be careful)
    12. Broil for 5-10 minutes, just till cheese starts to get brown spots
    13. Take out of oven, rest & cool
    14. Enjoy
