  • It was storming all day here. We’ve been go go go for the past few weeks, so I thought it would be fun to make up some Pepperoni Calzones tonight (the right way, from scratch, not the HACKED way I did it a few months back). Let’s see if these are better than my horrendous Meat Pocket debacle from last time! Enjoy!
    TIME TO PREPARE
    2-3 hours for dough to come together and rise
    10 minutes to create Calzones
    20+ minutes to bake in oven (I thought it would take no more than 15; I was wrong)
    5 minutes to broil and brown the top (be careful, check often, don't walk away with timer set for 5 minutes, you'll burn your dinner!)
    5 minutes to cool
    INGREDIENTS FOR CALZONE
    Pizza Dough
    Pizza Sauce
    Parmesan Cheese
    Pepperoni
    1 egg
    HOW TO
    1. Turn on oven to 425 degrees
    2. Take a baking sheet and line it with parchment paper
    3. Make up Pizza Dough (I’ve got videos, check it out)
    4. We made 2, so cut your dough in half
    5. Add sauce, Cheese & Pepperoni
    6. Fold over and press down seams
    7. Use fork to press down seams
    8. Wisk egg
    9. Brush egg onto prepared calzones
    10. Put in oven
    11. Bake 20+/- minutes
    12. Broil top of calzones for no more than 5 minutes
    13. Take out when they look golden brown
    14. Cool
    15. Warm up leftover red sauce and dip calzone
    16. Enjoy
