@@manafbenayache1880 I don't know if the MVS version has the cheat code of the AES release, however it needs (in terms of real hardware) a NeoGeo memory card save data with a clear data were you have defeated both Chonsou and Chonrei (same goes for the Sega Saturn port, you need a clear data were you have defeated both Jins), and after that input a cheat code, but you kinda need to pseudo-load your save data from the memory card, the Ps2 Fatal Fury Battle Archives 1 version has that memory card part fullfilled by default as you only need to input the cheat code at the character select screen.
Blue Mary's not saying "Fuck you.". She's saying "bakyuun", an onomatopoeia for the sound of a gunshot...which is why she does a finger-gun when she says it. Basically, she's saying "Bang".
The strat to clear this easily: pick Terry and just do crouching C into D Crack Shoot. If it hits, you can loop it infinitely, if they block, they block forever. Beating this with other characters is indeed quite a bit harder.
I agree with your title Justin, they do lol; but as tough as it can be it's my favorite of the Fatal Fury's. The fights against Geese, Yamazaki and the Jin brothers are awesome!
The Jin bros aren't quite evil. They're ambitious, but in this story they're possessed by ancient spirits from the past. Jin is the Japanese pronunciation of Qin 秦, the dynastic name of the first emperor of China. This is what Jin Chonshu is talking about when he mentions the 2200 year history of their bloodline (compared to Mai's Shiranui ninja clan, which only goes back to the Sengoku period wars in the 1500s). The first emperor of China, Qin Shi Huang Di, was a ruthless conqueror who instituted brutal laws and killed any who disagreed with him. He famously died from drinking mercury as part of an immortality serum. So the Jin bros here are possessed by spirits from the ancestral past, seeking their clan's records on immortality, to try & re-establish their dynastic reign for eternity. Fortunately you kicked the evil spirit out of one of the brothers. (The other one is an even secret-er last boss).
oh no seeing this brought back cursed memories of me in the 90's wasting quarters just to beat Geese, just to be demolished by Jin. Freaking SNK Bosses!
JWong, this game introduced two really cool mechanics not well-known (sorry English is not my main language): - sway (only df or df into HP) . May gonna duck and you can cancel with punch. This move is KOF 94/5 sway. The punch is cancelable and if opponent go to the back plane, you can combo like Real Bout Special; (1:25) - there is defense cancel. If you jump-in, the opponent can cancel the guard before you strike. Mai cancel move is HP. (9:17) (fast punch with a lot of active frames when Computer Mai is holding back)
Btw, if you are going for a Chon Rei finish, use the powered up versions of supers. Before you start, hold A, C, and D, then keep pressing start till your characters name turns green. Like I said in my earlier post, use Terry to easily infinite everyone. His super super is also comboable. db+C, ff+C, qcb, f+CD. First game with triple geyser.
I know the games that came after FF3 were better but for me this is my favorite fatal fury game. It has my favorite Mai Shiranui Design, it introduced Yamazaki to the SNK verse, everything from kicking your opponents into the foreground and background to the lane system, the music the art, the easy chain combos the hidden super desperation moves, the first time Geese dies canonically, the character roster (shame we didnt get Kim in this game). I really love this game! xD
Geese doesn't canonically die in Fatal Fury 3 because they revealed in Real Bout that the Geese that entered the tournament was a fake one and the reason why Geese has the scrolls in Real Bout in the first place is because he returns at the end of FF3 and steals them from the Jins, reverting them back to teenagers.
Isn't it funny how they made all this to squeeze every cent form us as kids, and we love them for it. No doubt new generations in the future will remember fondly being milked for cash by every micro-transactions scum tactic known to man. Makes me think about the current state of gaming monetization, maybe we truly were the problem and just love to blame the youngsters for what we started back then.
I don't have a LOT of Fatal Fury under my belt. I've beat the first one on a single credit. I've played this one a lot, too though. I feel better about myself after seeing Justin struggle with it. And it's funny that I only just NOW noticed Kyo and Kensou in the Pao Pao Cafe! I think Mark of the Wolves is the Fatal Fury game I've logged the MOST time into.
Her character art in FF3, that was her debut, makes that reference clearer than any other game. The sequels and especially KOF started toning down that similarity.
The SNK Boss Sindrome feel very strong in the Fatal Fury Saga, I cant wait to Fatal Fury Special to see you can stop Nightmare Geese that he touch you with the Raging Storm, something fun gonna happen, the last thing is be hit for a normal and after that the Raging Storm.
Bro, you can combo supers. Terry had an infinite. You can hard Crackshoot into crounching LP, then crouching HP into another hard Crackshoot. Or go directly into crouching HP into Crackshoot. Andy also has an infinite, but it's much harder, 2x B, 2x B, repeat. It can go 3x LK, so you gotta be careful to only do 2, wait slightly, and repeat. Chon Rei is a fun boss. Also, on Neo cd doing the boss code, you saw the 3 bosses at the bar as well.
While I was never a fan of Fatal Fury 3, I respect that it was a stepping stone to my baby. Get on Fatal Fury Real Bout 2. To this day, it remains my favorite fighter of all time. Real Bout 1 was essentially FF3 part 2 and Real Bout Special was alot flashier. But to me, FFRB2 just feels so damn good.
I LOVE Garoudensetsu 3. I got this game with my first Neo Geo CD. 💪😁 You must defeat Shen Long to stand a chance. Note that in some cases it can be Chonchu alone if the conditions aren't enough. It will also lead to the amazing forest background which I love so much as well if the fight ends on Chonchu alone. Forest is the first of 3 background variations, raft is the second, hell and dragon skeletons is the final BG variation. Note: A (Real Bout Fatal Fury aka RBFF1) P-POWER pre-versions activation cheat exists in this game, those moves help a LOT the S rank if mastered and used correctly. A couple of those moves need very precise mini combos that enables an single one and only opportunity to perform the super secret P-POWERS. PS: this game is probably a very underrated gem, IIII...... As for what's happening with this game? It was a '98 hit alongside MK3/UMK3 and Super SF2T... where the answer to "challenge" *was* to multiply the damage of AI opponents by like, 2-3x depending on how far in the game you got. So it's ABSOLUTELY like this. Also, forget I ever even *mentioned* Guilty Gear Isuka. Bruh, you are NOT ready for THAT kind of madness - it's like this *with Reverse Dramatic Battle* going on!! You really need to get some character sprite themed merch shirta with "Let's go Justin", "That did mad damage", and "Godlike" on them. You would make a killing, I swear! A shirt with a sprite version of JWong doing lightning kicks with "let's go Justin" in it?! Give me 5 of them.
I played a lot of Fatal Fury 3 and Real Bout and I don't think I ever noticed the bateria playing the background during Bob Wilson's stage. Nice touch! BTW, Bob Wilson is cheap as hell in both games, but especially in Real Bout. In the second or third round if you start with your special meter charged, you can touch of death, which is a neat trick in an early game like RB.
Sadly, FF3 was a step down. The most popular Fatal Fury is FF Special, and it's my favourite too! FF3 has some cheap acting AI characters, like Sokaku and Franco Bash, but now I know their tricks. When you play as Terry, also the mirror match can be difficult.

You know one character who's 100% never coming back? Franco Bash, the "we got Haggar at home" grappler-looking dude...who boxes and does mechanic work in overalls. SNK is all about some fashion forward designs, but even they don't touch overalls.
Wait till you fight chonrei, he does two fireballs before you can shoot one, he moves twice as fast as a normal character and the stage looks more like hell or something, it's the same place chonshu is in but it's full of dead bodies and dead monsters skeletons
I remembered for the PS2 box cover on the back; it said this game have ai learning abilities. It will learn from each fight. It was this one or the world heros collection. Snk had a couple of those collection back in the day. But you know it was ai cheat. Reading your inputs
this game was from the time that SNK, instead of creating ridiculous overpowered bosses (example Igniz) , they try to overpowered the players with intrincated Artifical Intelligence, the CPU can do intrincated combos with desesperation movies in the middle ... but still the AI has a some weakness, like you said Justin "there are patterns" , I remembered in the arcade, the old school boys like me slowly learned some tricks with every caracter, for example the 3d movements tend to stress the AI a lot, specially with characters with short limbs... like Mary, Mai, Andy, Sokaku... 1) just try to use the movement to go to the side (like A+B or B+C) 2) the CPU tries to hit you with his short limb using Oversway Attack 3) do a kick-attack from the Oversway 4) follow with a Oversway attack on your own and repeat.. easy and no punishment... there are other tricks.. like Franco Bash do a pattern that he counters with low attacks than nevers goes up... so you can follow with a hop and kick... and Hon Fu tends to do his nunchaku jump a lot when you jump... so just kick him :D at the end all of these tricks were the reason that SNK got tired of try to overpowered with AI... and began to add nasty stuff ... like the bosses only have one guard... so they can block upattacks and sweeps the same... (Goenitz has a exploit here in KOF96.. you just jump and kick him ... and follow with a sweep... guaranteed damage )
There was a reason of why at an arcade I was used to play, they had Fatal Fury 3 at... difficulty 1... even on that difficulty is a pain in the gut to play, also... that's ANOTHER game you have to revisit, while you "completed" the game, you didn't fight Jin Chonrei (you know if you have the right to fight him if the stage you fight Jin Chonsou is in flames), you got lucky that the game didn't tell ya "you suck at this game" (and the way it tells you is that if you don't get to fight Jin Chonsou at all, also no game credits in that scenario).
Yeah we're play fatal Fury 3 it was really freaking tough as hell. And then can you believe that there was hidden bosses. Jin chonshu and chonrei. Those were some tough bosses. And then we found out about the super desperation moves. The motions for them are ridiculus.

but still the AI has a some weakness, like you said Justin "there are patterns" , I remembered in the arcade, the old school boys like me slowly learned some tricks with every caracter, for example the 3d movements tend to stress the AI a lot, specially with characters with short limbs... like Mary, Mai, Andy, Sokaku... 1) just try to use the movement to go to the side (like A+B or B+C) 2) the CPU tries to hit you with his short limb using Oversway Attack 3) do a kick-attack from the Oversway 4) follow with a Oversway attack on your own and repeat.. easy and no punishment... there are other tricks.. like Franco Bash do a pattern that he counters with low attacks than nevers goes up... so you can follow with a hop and kick... and Hon Fu tends to do his nunchaku jump a lot when you jump... so just kick him :D
at the end all of these tricks were the reason that SNK got tired of try to overpowered with AI... and began to add nasty stuff ... like the bosses only have one guard... so they can block upattacks and sweeps the same... (Goenitz has a exploit here in KOF96.. you just jump and kick him ... and follow with a sweep... guaranteed damage )
Maybe i should give kof a shot. Shit looks so good. (I know this isnt kof specifically)
I’m surprised your arcade was generous enough to lower the difficulty and not suck more quarters
@@mikeg2491 Well... it barely counts... when they have the continues option DISABLED!!!
Yo! this game is the best! hard af and I didn't get to Chonrei until I became an adult, but it's worth getting better, because it's fun.
5:47 Time to Celebrate 🎉
Bob Wilson???!!! Ex Arsenal and Scotland goalkeeper? 🤣😂🤣
Jin Chonshu’s arranged theme is godlike
I ve been plying FF3 since more than two decades and never knew it has air block
12:15 background fun lol 12:16
lol completly forgot that FF has those sidesteps did KOF had those in one of the games?
Yeah we're play fatal Fury 3 it was really freaking tough as hell. And then can you believe that there was hidden bosses. Jin chonshu and chonrei. Those were some tough bosses. And then we found out about the super desperation moves. The motions for them are ridiculus.
Good job Justin you won I like this game some of the characters do a lot of damage
Real boss standing behind Justin
The coin arcade be swimming in the coins with those loses
A: Because Blue Mary was directly inspired by Android 18, of course
'Way too long to beat this game': I've been trying since the 90's.
it’s really crazy how much CRT tvs made sprite/pixel games look “better”
