Also, his love of Cock & Ball Torture and Disgorge Mex always respected him for. I used to have to break the bank to get those bands releases and shirts from American Line. Total respect.
I think the biggest 'poser' related thing in the modern metal scene, to me, is Spotify (or just digital only music collections/distribution). I am SO tired of the push for digital only music. I want my CDs and vinyls GODDAMMIT!!
Nicke Andersson was incredibly important for the death metal scene in Stockholm, and as such in Sweden in general. Without a driving force like that dude a whole scene can fizzle out and die before it gets started at all. And listening to what all the OG dudes say about him, that's just what he did, lit a fire in the scene making it possible to become what it is today. Gotta look beyond the music a bit when it comes to people sometimes.

Consuming Impulse is one best death metal albums ever. 1st 3 cool some of the later ones Are ok. Obituary is cool. I think they still putting out all right stuff cause of death and slowly we rot classic albums. And one thing I can definitely say about them is they never really changed their sound. But it is a matter of opinion.

Apart from the first 3 albums and Undead/Unborn, I find their music to be awful. Baffles me how some people see them as the most heavy band out there.

Cmon J-Dawg Obituary and SFU are nowhere near deserving of that dishonour, they at least kept their general sound. I'd also like to point out that a band that changes their sound isn't automatically a poser or a sellout. I wouldn't call Black Metal bands making dark folk or dark ambient/dungeon synth albums or a band like Opeth making progressive rock albums "selling out" because these are not commercial/trendy forms of music and these stylistic shifts are within these artists' "musical aesthetic". TRUE Sellout bands are those that shift their sound and image at a whim to whatever if commercially successful at the time, like Sepultura making roots and coming out wearing baggy clothes and sporting dyed dreads lol. That being said, this is my top 5 in order:
1. Sepultura
2. Metallica
3. In Flames
4. Roadrunner

A poser to me is someone who goes up on stage, pretends he's some sorta evil ghoul with some fucked up artist name who praises Satan in front of a bunch of drunks, and then off stage turns into a bore who thinks he's deep because "satanism is about individualism" or some other tripe and is simply too stupid to explain what the occult symbols on his leather jacket mean. .. shit, that's probably 20-50% of the entire black metal scene.
