Yeah man!! Both 'Of Darkness' and 'Beyond Sanctorum' are so underrated on the subject of 90s Swedish DM. Christopher Johnson was pretty influential back then...recording vocals for Swedish legends Excruciate (demo), Liars In Wait, Crematory and the Swiss DM band Messiah. Also playing guitar/vocals in Therion, Carbonized, and even drums in the obscure Procreation!! There should be a book written about his career. Hey, nice Death Metal playlist man!! Disembowelment, Goreaphobia, Divine Eve, Dismember, and Embalmer are all favs of mine too!!
I remember back in the mid 2000s it seemed like every band in the world was putting out a live DVD or a video containing their entire history or whatever. Some I liked, some I didn't. It seemed like a trend that died away. Really liked Cannibal Corpse -Centuries of Torment in particular. Just wondering your opinion on the whole thing. Thanks brah

Honestly Justin, you should give Asphyx 'God Cries' from 1996 a listen (lots of old-school energy and definitely some good catchy songwriting!!). The guitarist/vocalist (Theo Loomans) was actually from the original demo lineup. One of my favorite Asphyx albums!!

Blasphemy Fallen Angel Of Doom is the best demo of all time. Maybe I am biased because I am from the same area, and maybe being part of the scene when it came out influenced my opinion, but We Worshipped Blasphemy and that is even after the drummer Sean offered to trade me a shirt for a McDonalds cheeseburger. Listen to Ritual again, and pay close attention to the Sean boy beat. That ain't catchy? Come on man!
I enjoy Van Halen, but I can definitely see why people don't. Same thing with GNR, love that band, but many don't like Axl's vocals, or they don't like him. Totally understandable. You going to see Deicide on the Legion 30th Anniversary tour? Two bands that have caught my ears are Stabbing, and Nuclear Remains, definitely check them out!

Metal Blade will endlessly push Amon Amarth to noobs that think viking metal is some ultra original shit that Amon Amarth created because they don't know shit. granted I don't think Hanri cared about being huge but still they deserve more. Also, not all metal heads worship horror films. I dig some but id much rather watch True Detective or Band of Brothers or fantasy shit like OG Conan and Fellowship of the Ring. Raw production fits for stuff like Deathcrush and PFA but Under A Funeral Moon was too crunchy, fuzzy production on Transilvanian Hunger works. Emperor’s 4 song ep whatever it was called sounds light years better to me than In the Nughtside Eclipse all depends haha

Since you asked for opinions, here are some of my unpopular ones: Not a fan of your showing off band collection videos. The story time & rant videos are much more interesting. Mental Funeral rules, Severed Survival is a little lackluster. Asphyx has never released a bad album. Voivod has never released a good album.
Mayhem is completely overrated they did nothing except put me to sleep I only like the demos with Dead on vocals. Also as a Thrasher I can't stand later Kreator they made great albums in the 80's.
And Dio? Ian Gillan? Ray Gillen? Glenn Hughes? Tony Martin? Black Sabbath is so diverse I find hard to believe any metalhead who doesn't like anything by them.
As a die hard death metalhead I personally give two 💩💩 less about Death and I like a couple of albums but that's it, Death/Chuck Schuldiner fanboys are lame
Me either, went to Cannibal Corpse, Mortician, Suffocation, and Gatecreeper and they all gave a monologue shoutout to how Chuck was their inspiration. It always happens. Like was he that special that every band gets hard for him.

Me either, went to Cannibal Corpse, Mortician, Suffocation, and Gatecreeper and they all gave a monologue shoutout to how Chuck was their inspiration. It always happens. Like was he that special that every band gets hard for him.

@@D0N_Nadie You can name whatever band you want from the time, Sepultura created the first death metal recording. 2 years later Death would pioneer the genre, and all eyes were on them from the start. Just like all eyes were on Suffocation when Effigy was released, the inspiration is clear.
