He's also a teen in spirit. I never saw him talking in many years, but when interviews started popping up in RUclips I noticed that even if he is almost 60 he has a juvenile personality.
Kirk has always been my favorite member of Metallica. When I was younger and I saw those pics of him sitting in a room surrounded by toys, comics and skateboards I thought “ Wow…Kirk is into the Same stuff as me!” I immediately held him in high regard and looked up to him growing up🤘🏻
I absolutely love Kirk, he has still such a young soul. He’s as as old as my grandpa but 100% more “alive” than him. I love his jokes too, they’re so bad that it makes him funny. Would’ve absolutely pissed my pants if I were in the same room as him, really.
Kirk sounds like a cool guy to hang out with. I would absolutely watch horror movies with him and geek out with him about spooky shit and urban legends
Loved this interview!! Thank you for having Kirk Hammett on. It was of great honor to have been able to see this. You both brought back so many memories of my childhood as well. Keep them coming sir! 😎🤘🎸💯
I would like to know what Kirk's favorite modern horror movies are and some overlooked films. One of my personal favorites is Martyrs from 2008, its a French film. If you like truly disturbing & distressing horror flicks I really recommend this one.
I also collect horror and Sci-Fi memorabilia plus guitars. I've been doing it for 30 years and there's no room left in my house! It becomes an obsession!
Kirk putting down Disney for not being scary but my first horror fear came from the Disney movie The Black Cauldron. Man was I scared of that demonic horned king. Not much later it was Nightmare on Elmstreet that made my hide behind the couch. Evil dead was my fav from that error. The humor, the gore, the fear, so good. Love Kirk, he's a everybody's best friend type of guy.
As I was just thinking to myself about a week ago, whatever happened to Metal and Monsters? So glad this is back, and Kirk is the perfect guest for this. So friggin rad 🤘
i remember back in the late 80s i got a lot of cues for horror movies just from Kirk's t-shirts, as they showed up in the band pictures from Circus or Kerrang. Not much schooling available in genre fiction before the internet where I grew up, so we learned from any sources we could get. Love Kirk's passion for all this nerd stuff
love seeing Kirk and his enthusiasm for horror movies. I'm about same age as Kirk and I remember watching these movies and Ya in the right atmosphere they could move you. My girlfriend at the time was very into horror movies way more than me and she had a rough childhood. I think horror movies are cathartic for people with difficult childhoods or perhaps all of us who have seen the darker side of things.
My introduction to horror films was back in 1973-74 when I was 7 years old and I saw Abbott and Costelloeets frankenstein. It scared me but I was hooked.
Love this show, love horror movies, love Kirk Hammet (such a gentleman and otherwordly musician), love the one and only The Misfits and I'm also a huge, tremendous Type O Negative fan since ever. Thank you for the acknowledgement to this all time amazing band (R.I.P. Peter Steele) and their unique sound that echoes forever, at least for me.
I've loved Metallica for 36 years but seeing Kirk in a magazine with his Shogun Warriors Godzilla figures and comics sealed the deal. Cliff rocking the Dawn of the Dead shirt was another gateway into horror. You guys have out done yourselves. Amazing second episode.
Love this! Being brought up in a very strict Christian upbringing… I had to sneak to watch or listen to music Main point: The Witching Hour….. I’m awaken every morning anywhere between 3:35-near 5 out of a dead sleep. Nobody (including my father pastor) refuses to ever sleep in my master bedroom. I am the only one that will… lol… (sorry dad🤍) Kirk is amazing!!!! Rocks my soul & has the ability to create a solo Rockin lullaby that sends me into a Rockin lullaby until “The Witching Hour” Kirk…lmao… your mom says “I’ve traumatized my son” You fkn rock in all aspects of life! “ The Shining “ is one of my favorite classics! I’ve SO enjoyed this!
Thank you guys! Type O.... wow, take me back. Good conversation with Kirk. I bugged my mom take me to see the "Exorcist" when I was a kid. She showed me, that was too much for a kid...LOL
I go right back to my childhood when Kirk talks about movies - I’d be sleeping 🛌 with lights on too after watching some of the classics 🎃🎬🎥⚰️🧛🏻♂️😬🦇🧟♀️🕸🕷
this yt channel is frinkn awesome, my first time watchn & being w/one of my all time childhood favs metal bands... w/me, music has always been about the music itself & its energy that can only be found in metal... very cool to learn Hammett is a big horror fan & being blessed w/the feeling of needing to share his collection w/others is so next lvl of humanity... lm happy to add & subscribe to this channel where ill def explore past posts & look forward to new ones... as i watched, couldnt help but recall my childhood fav monster movies & wanting to share & talk about them w/my friends at that time... for me, it was that horror scifi movie "The Thing" 1982 & it scared the shyt outta me for a week straight, i was band for couple yrs by my parents of watching anything scary... to this day, its the best ever made in my opinion... ty for sharing your creation w/us... When I first saw the Exorcist I was like 9 or 10 and it scared the shit out of me too. I never kept the lights on for months straight. But every time I watched it I’d turn every light on in the house on the way to my bedroom for bed and slept with the lights on for that night.
Kirk is the best, love this guy! He reminds me of all my cool older cousins, I’m 33. Lol. But just gives an idea of how old. My cousins would just talk about horror movies all the time, but more so one guy in my family. Just saying his knowledge and fandom for horror is a amazing. I always did look to these older family guys to show me some cool stuff, plus they showed me Metallica, and type o, I was only like 12 hearing this stuff. I was drawn in.
My very first monster movie was the original "Frankenstein" with Boris Karloff. I was also 5 just like Kirk. My mom was a HUGE horror fan, sitting up late watching those old Hammer Horror movies with Christopher Lee. My first REAL horror was "Salem's Lot". Later that same year my mom took me to see "The Amitiville Horror". I've been hooked on horror since.
Finally... I've been waiting for this for about, well, seven months 😁... Your first episode was great and this one's really something we old school horror kids were waiting for: Kirk Hammett talking about horror and music. I hope it won't take another seven months until we can see episode no. 3... 😉... Thank you and all the best! You made this really a joy to watch. CHEERS! PS.: How about inviting THE MISFITS next time 🧟♂️ 🤘?
Incredible episode Piggy! As a diehard Metallica fan and Horror fan, often times I find both passions batting for supremacy at any given time (not unlike King Kong vs Godzilla 😂), so it feels like this episode is tailor-made for me! And some brief Dawn of the Dead (my favorite movie of all time) talk about Cliff Burton?! Fuggedaboutit! Keep up the great work and l, of course, Happy Halloween!🎃
I love how into old-school classic horror and scifi he is. He owns the original Black Cat outfit! If you want to hear another great interview with him talking about this, check out his appearance on Gilbert Gottfried's Amazing Collosal Podcast. Gil and co-host Frank are just as into it as we are, so it gets super nerdy! And the nerdier the better!
Ok, I love this show, I’m 52 and miss shows to watch with this MTV feel, sort of like Headbangers Ball! So let’s get this show stretched out to two hours and pump in metal videos, I mean they are still here just all over RUclips, so put them in here ! Keep the Shows coming!!!
Metal and music; I was lucky to see Black Sabbath reunite and play the Ozzfest in Pittsburgh back in ‘99, and a memory I’ll carry with me forever is when they started their set with ‘War Pigs’. Imagine that air raid siren and almost pitch darkness, with a few red spotlights flashing, and the crowd had used the set times sheets and who knows what else to build fires that were scattered all around...THAT’S atmosphere. ;)
Awesome interview! Kirk is one of, if not the best guitarist ever. Super fan of the classic horror movies, specially the Zombie movies. Return of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead.
Growing up in 'Frisco, I'll safely assume that Hammett was influenced by LaVey and perhaps Aquino. The titles on his solo project say a lot. Safe to say so many of us pick our poison.
"Trilogy of Terror" scared me too! Ironically, I only remember the story with Karen Black (🖤 ) I am watching this at the 10pm hour Pacific time Hallowe'en. I remember reading a story about Kirk Hammett (Dammett🙃) purchasing The Silver Sphere from the film "Phantasm". Fiction or non-fiction, I'm trying to find out. I saw that film in a theater in Carbondale, IL and on the way back home a hearse followed me and my friends halfway home. It totally twisted my melon, man! I'm digging (pun intended) this Hallowe'en episode and yes I put a comma between the two e's. Tradition.
Love how much Kirk knows about horror, he wasn't invited to kiss someone's ass, he's straight praising the good ones and bashing the awful ones :D haha he's a 70s horror lover, he's a bible of horror, I'm glad that he's part of the genre in one way or the other.
🎃thank so much for this special Halloween documentory📽📺🎬 ill rewacthed every chance i can Kirk from metallica its the perfect horror 💀 guest for the show 🎥🎬
Metallica my favorite band(followed by Tool) love Kirk & James and I’m a big horror & monster fan. Also big Halloween fan and my bday is Oct 30. But my favorite guitarist is fellow monster maniac, John 5 so I hope he gets an episode

My favorite thing about Kirk is he’s just a grown up kid. Has millions of dollars and spends it on guitars, toys, and movie props!
He's also a teen in spirit. I never saw him talking in many years, but when interviews started popping up in RUclips I noticed that even if he is almost 60 he has a juvenile personality.
@@Davidman3976 I think the music keeps him young at heart. It’s great to see somebody enjoying the fruits of their labor over the past 40+ years.
It's always good to humanize the Metallica boys now and then , to remind us they are they rippers we grew up loving
Gets the best coke
Don't forget the money spent on hair plugs
I love Kirk when he is interviewed alone, he is often spoken over when the other members are around.
Kirk has always been my favorite member of Metallica. When I was younger and I saw those pics of him sitting in a room surrounded by toys, comics and skateboards I thought “ Wow…Kirk is into the Same stuff as me!” I immediately held him in high regard and looked up to him growing up🤘🏻
As a metalhead and a horror collector, I absolutely love this. I’ve followed Kirk’s collection for years. It’s truly amazing.

yeah same

Kirk and James one of my all time favorite guitar duos.
Ours too!!
🍻
Please Gibson, never stop doing Metal & Monsters. This is the absolute best. ❤️👹🧟
Thanks for watching
Now we need a video of the collection
Where Kirk shows off his guitars
And maybe some of his horror collectables

Hell yeahhh. That would be awesome 😎
I like Kirk. He seems so down to earth and obviously he has great taste in films
Horror classics is great
Love that Count D lets his guests do the talking. So many hosts talk over and more than their guests these days.
A pro interviewer is as good a listener as a question asker.
This was very well done.
Great job by the Count and all of his team. 🤘🤘
Joe Rogan syndrome…
Yeah he is a great interviewer
Excellent seeing this & Kirk talking about his love of horror & Cliffs love of horror & how it brought them even closer together. Awesome 🤘
Kirk is a wise guy with a great level of humbleness.
Loved this interview!! Thank you for having Kirk Hammett on. It was of great honor to have been able to see this. You both brought back so many memories of my childhood as well. Keep them coming sir! 😎🤘🎸💯

Metallica and horror! Two of my favorite things ever!
Its actually crazy that Kirk hasn’t done a Horror movie soundtrack
It's nice to see a guy in his late 50s so positive about diversification of demographics in fandoms.

I'm an OG Monster Kid (started with Famous Monsters #133) so this was absolutely wonderful.
