Fond memories. In Britain, 78/79 was named The Winter of Discontent because of the strikes, the economy, inflation, unemployment, etc. - but at least there was still good music to lift the mood.
Yep,and I wasn't of age where I had to understand fully or worry about those adult problems yet so I was sailing along happily enjoying the times. i remember those days in the late 70s when I would listen to ( & enjoy very much) music from groups such as Racey, Pilot, Queen, The Sweet, 10CC & yes, even ABBA. Please bring back those wonderful, carefree days when life was really good-- & SAFE. We didn't even have to lock our doors in those days & kids could play creely in the streets without parents worrying about their safety. Great music 🎶 ✔ 👍 Fantastic times ⚠
Statisticaly children were at greater risk of harm both domestically and from strangers. Wife's were routinely beaten and no one said a word. Conditions in the workplace and the standard of living were markedly lower. The good old days only exist in your imagination.
Totally agree. Perverts have always been around. I remember a couple of incidents happening with my childhood friends near our home with strange men exposing themselves, saying sexual things to us, etc. We lived in a quiet semi rural area near a woods and railway in North West England. These things happened and we never told our parents or teachers. It makes me angry looking back these horrid, vile men got away with it.

Apparently anything is old these days is bad. kid's at school are being taught this rubbish from their teacher's, who have no respect at all for anyone else. They are God as far as they are concerned.
A bought the original vinyl album of this in a record store the other day for $9. It plays magnificently! I’m 23 and my brother (18) and I grew up listening to 60’s, 70’s and 80’s thanks to my parents 🙌🏻
Brings me back to 1979 school disco's when this came on the dancefloor filled immediately.... still remember the sidestepping. Thanks for the fond memories......good times

I liked and still like this song very much!

Let's face it, the country's ALWAYS been in 'a state'. Nothing is ever perfect, probably never will be either.
